Sizzix Simple Flower Embosslit

Good Afternoon! This card was a fast card to make. The back panel is textured with the Sizzix Texture #4 plate from Stampin' Up ran through the big shot. The flower's are cut and embossed with the Sizzix Simple Flower and Emblosslit and they have brads for flower centers. A piece of vellum was cut with the Circle Scizzor's Plus and another piece was cut for under the verse which is from the stamp set Stem Sayings. The card stock colors are Real Red, Barely Banana, and Basic Black. I just love how fast you can add texture to a card with the Big Shot. It makes a card go from good to WOW!

Mom was over this morning to look at the new website for Adams Flea Market. I put a link on the right side bar so you can see it too. There are 18 pictures in a slide show on it.

I am having a pajama day today and am trying to knock stuff off my long "to do list". I seem to keep adding to the list instead of crossing things off! Oh well....what can you do. I am getting things ready so that I can run errands tomorrow. Fun Fun. NOT! As you probably have figured out....I'd rather be crafting! Hope you are all having a great day! Elaine

Inspired by Nature Cat Tails

This card sample was a big hit at Sandy Wellumson's stamping party. The girls just loved it! The weeds are stamped with the stamp set Inspired by Nature with Old Olive Ink and the verse is from Sincere Salutations. The cat tails are made by punching Chocolate Chip card stock with the slot punch and the verse was stamped on Chocolate Chip with Very Vanilla Craft Ink and punched out with the largest oval punch that Stampin Up has. I had just reinked my craft pad and that is how I got the look of bleaching. I decided to use it as I liked the bleeded effect.
It was a cold day here in Adams, WI. The temperature was suppose to be warmer than yesterday but I am not sure if it was or not. Perhaps I was just colder from sitting out in it for two days. My sister and her family were here today and I had a nice visit with Lenore and Brooke. Bob didn't come and I didn't see much of Ben and Mike. It was nap time when I got home, the extreme weather temperatures do that to me, and I slept for a couple of hours. It took me hours to get warmed up after I got home. I looked through some magazines and watched a bunch of Guiding Light episodes for a couple of hours and got up around 8:30 and started making cards. I just finished the 7th one and I am pretty happy about that. I used a bunch of images I had colored on another day so that made things go pretty fast. I just needed to figure out my layouts. I think I shall go to bed now. Monday's are usually pretty crazy around here. Hopefully no one will call real early! Hint..Hint!!! LOL Make it a great day! Elaine

Cuttlebug embossing folder

Hi! This card is similar to the last one that I posted. I ran the main panel through the big shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used cat's eye chalk ink to sponge the edges. I used a light pink and a white. I did several layers till I got the effect I was trying to achieve. Then took an old dried up blender pen and used it like a paint brush with the chalk ink and painted with it over the raised part of the embossing. The word hi is cut out with a die that goes with this embossing folder. The dandelions kind of look like they are floating in the wind to me.

It is my mom's 68th birthday today. Happy Birthday mom! I wish you many, many, more and I am looking forward to having lunch with you next week! Love ya! Elaine

My day didn't go at all as planned today but that was ok, I needed a break. Breezy came this morning and put some more shelves up in the storage room and he is coming back tomorrow to put some more up. Jessie wasn't feeling well and took the day off. I worked on some stamping stuff in the morning, and Susie stopped over before her dentist appointment. She came back after it and we decided to go to Coloma to the scrapbook store. We took a class while we were there and we will be doing this project at a future scrap booking class. The gals are going to love it. We arrived home around 5 and I have been working on Mom's birthday present since I arrived home and chatting on the phone. Sure do love my headset! I just finished and it is 10:30 and I am wiped. Time to head off to bed!

Jessie and Jackie were here today and helped me with my organization project. The shelves that were put up yesterday are pretty much full. I think the girls will be dreaming of fabric tonight as they folded so much of it. They made large dents in the unpacking of boxes. We still have a lot to do but I could definitely start working in the sewing room now as the majority of my fabric and supplies are unpacked and put into place. I found the last bunch of my sewing decorations and the room is looking so cute. Breezy will be coming to put more shelves up in the storage room tomorrow morning and then Jessie and I will work on unpacking more boxes. We worked until 2 today and I again hobbled to the bed, napped and got up around 4:30 when Diane and her sister Marianne stopped in for a visit. I made a trip to the hardware and grocery store, had supper and then talked with Sarah on the phone for a couple of hours. I haven't been in my stamping room to stamp since last week and it feels so weird. Maybe I will get in there on Friday as I am taking the day off from this organization project. School starts on Wednesday next week so I can have Jessie on Monday and Tuesday yet. I think we will be done by then. Sure hope so!

Priceless

Another busy day. Breezy and Jessie were here and they put up 3 mini blinds for me. Plus 8 feet of floor to ceiling shelving in the "now storage room" for fabric and craft supplies. Jessie and I worked on folding fabric and getting it on the shelves in the afternoon. She left around 3, and I hit the bed and fell asleep and slept till 6:30. I was so tired and could hardly walk. She is doing all the lifting and everything but I think it is from going up and down the steps. Steps are hard for me and mine are narrow and steep, that is why I have my bed on the main level. Mom stopped over tonight and we visited a long time then I made some supper. I have all of my sewing collection put up in the new sewing room and it looks cute. It really has a personality of it's own. And I have a few other things mixed in with it too that people have given me. When I get it all done I will shoot some photo's.

Sympathy Cards

Hello! What a busy day! It started out with Karen stopping to pick up her order at 9am and Breezy arriving shortly after that to install my kitchen faucet. It is all in, looks and works great! Jessie, my teen age friend from the flea market arrived around 11 to help out with projects too. Breezy and Jessie moved furniture around and put the new tables up in the sewing room. It is all set up now, I just need to put up my sewing decorations and it needs a little touch up painting which Breezy will do. They also moved boxes down stairs of stuff of the girls that Jessie and I are sorting through. Plus they got things moved so that the shelves in the storage room can be put up tomorrow. We really got a lot accomplished. Susie stopped in before her haircut appointment to show me the Halloween cards that she has been making. I sent Jessie home at 1:30 as this chick needed a nap! I got my nap in and slept till after 3 until the phone rang. Carol came around 4 and we worked on Jordy's resume and then went to the Bar & Bowl for supper. We visited till around 6 and then she had to leave for a meeting. Danna Petersen was just here for her stamping order and a visit. Did I forget anything???? Probably. It was a whirlwind day. Tomorrow looks like it will be the same. But it is good to be getting these things done. The cards that I am showing you today I made with digital stamps. I thought I would show a close up so you could see the shading in the coloring. Fun images to work with. Diane has been teasing me that she is going to buy me a coloring book for Christmas!

Petal Pizzaz

I just finished cleaning out the stuff under my kitchen sink so that Breezy can install the new kitchen faucet tomorrow. We are also going to work on my sewing room. I am so excited! I can't wait to start working in there! The weather is just gorgeous and I love it. I had to wear my sweatshirt jacket inside the stall this weekend and I sure do love sweatshirt weather!

The weather was beautiful today in Friendship, WI. A little cool, it felt like fall, just how I like it. Susie, Melissa, and Isabelle were down to see me today. The house is so quiet now with out Dianna. I picked up a new kitchen faucet, and toilet while in Madison on Friday. Breezy will be coming on Monday to work on projects. I am very excited about getting into my new sewing room. It won't be long now! I will shoot some pictures when I get it all set up!

Sporting & Just Foot ball

Here is one of the football cards that I made. It uses the sets Just Football and Sporting. I used Chocolate chip Ink. To make the star, first you take Stampin Up's little star punch and punch out a star. Then place the larger star over the top of it, get it centered good, then punch out the large star. Wahla!! I then took the 1 3/4" punch and punched out one of them to back it on. The bottom edge under the footballs is torn. A fun quick card for your favorite sports fan!

Lovely As A Tree

Yesterday, Dianna and I went with Melissa and Isabelle out to Pineland Campground. For $5.00 you can get a wrist band that allows you to swim in the outdoor swimming pool, and play all the games, bounce on the trampoline, putt putt golf, etc. Isabelle and Dianna had a great time together. Dianna didn't want to go home.

Today, I had a special visitor. My friend and downline Corrinne from Rockford, IL was here and we had a nice long visit. After she left Dianna and I went to pick up some Peppermint Patties for the sunflower's we have been working on tonight and pizza and icecream. It is our last night celebration! I will be sad to see her go home tomorrow. She loves to craft with me and we have had such fun together.

Hill of Beans Coffee

These are some of 9 gift card holder's that I made for Hill of Beans Coffee in Lake Delton that I personalized. They were really piddly with all the coloring on them but I think they turned out really cute.

Dianna and I worked in the stamping cave here in Friendship, WI most of the day. She is making birthday cards for all of the upcoming birthdays this fall in her family. She has more to do today. She is very excited about making a birthday card for her little sister Mia's 1st birthday in November. Dianna just adore's her. The apple of her eye! The stamping order from Sandy Wellumson's party arrived yesterday and Dianna helped me get that all unpacked, sorted, and bagged. We had lot's of visitor's in and out picking up order's yesterday. I got 6 baseball cards finished, then spent hours with the Big Shot and my die's cutting up all the scrap's laying on my table. I have a big dish of tags, button's, shoe's, and purse's all ready for my card making. I love having things prepped. It makes it all goes faster when you are creating.

Lead in your pants

Good Morning! Dianna and I are having a blast. We were up till midnight last night....shhhh....don't tell Jenna and Antonio! Actually, I think Dianna read in her bed on the couch till 1. I gave her a little book reading light and I was falling asleep and she was still reading. She is not keen about me being at the computer at the moment. She said I was making "too much noise" typing....hee hee. Any whoo...I am sure we will have another fun filled day. We watched the movie last night called Father's Little Dividend. It was with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor. It was quite funny and we were dying laughing. I got it at the library, if you get a chance, check it out.

This is from another batch of cards that I made with digital images. Diane and Susie thought this saying that I found was such a stitch! A fun card to send to a friend. Well...I'd better hip hop off to the shower before UPS comes with my stamping order. Make it a great day! Elaine

Monday, August 17, 2009

Hello my little pretties! The good witch from West Street is busy making Halloween Cards! I finished 4 of these last night and took them to the Dells along with 11 other cards when I went to Madison today to pick up Dianna. I went around the spider web on this card with a silver gel pen. It is hard to see in the picture but it turned out really cool. This is a digital image that I purchased from Whimsie Doodles. You will be seeing some more of there images in the future.

I met Jenna and Dianna at Good Will and then Dianna and I went to JoAnn's and used our 40% off coupons and I picked up a storage container for Lady Di. She likes the one that I have my 12 x 12 paper stored in and I have been hunting for one for her for months now and finally found her one. We headed back home and then went to the library. I had told them to send a book with Dianna and she said the one that Jenna sent along was boring. LOL So we checked out a couple of books for her while returning my things and picking up what I had ordered. I also picked out a couple of movies for us. Dianna wanted to see the wedding dress pictures when she got here so we looked at them and the pictures I took of the picnic on Saturday. Then I needed to rest so she started reading her book and got 71 pages read. I fell asleep and so did she. When we got up Dianna wanted to make my famous chocolate chip bars. She made them all by herself, I just guided her and showed how to properly measure ingredients, how to turn on the oven, etc. When I suggested that we write down the recipe so that she could make them at home, she thought that was a wonderful idea. So I got out a stand up photo album that we are turning into a recipe holder for her. She is getting pretty good with the paper cutter now and I showed her how to cut up the paper to fit inside the album and she did that all by herself. Then I got out my stamp set From the Kitchen of and Diana stamped recipe cards and has been writing down recipes from my cook book of favorite recipes. She is so excited. She has been talking non stop all day, a big change from when I first met her and I would have to ask her a zillion questions to get her to talk. Not any more! LOL :D
Well...we are off to watch a movie! Have a good night! Boo

The Whisper White Mat is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4", and the Pacific Point mat is 3" x 3". Just stamp the flower's and punch them out with the 1 3/8" square punch and mat them on the 3" square. A very quick and cute card!

Lovely As A Tree & On Your Birthday

Good Evening! Yesterday, Lady Di and I took Bernie to the Rapids for his haircut and then we shot up to Plover to Michael's to do some shopping. After we picked Bernie up, we had supper at Hong Kong Buffet, then we stopped at Lighthouse Books. Of course we founds some new goodies :-)

Today, I frosted the 6 dozen sugar cookies I made earlier in the week for Sarah's and Zach's picnic that is tomorrow. I had some taste tester's begging for a cookie today. I had made the mistake of telling them on Tuesday that I had baked the cookies and froze them. So Debi Wehby and Melissa Varga each had a cookie and thought they were very good. Melissa was over for a visit and she brought me some more goodies of her's to play with. She is so good to me. :-) I got some more images colored and if I ever get a free day....I should be able to make up a bunch of cards pretty quickly as I have so many images colored now! I worked on stamping some sentiments in some other card's that the fronts were finished and got them packaged up to go to the flea market & the Dell's tomorrow. I will do the flea market in the morning and close around 1:30, come home and rest, pack up the food, then head to Hill of Beans before going to the picnic. It will be a busy day....that is for sure!

Coffee Tin

Good Afternoon! I can't believe how fast today has went by. My neighbor across the street occasionally comes over and helps me with the cleaning and we barter with my craft items. She was over for a couple hours today and got the walls washed in my bedroom today, scrubbed the tub and a few other things. So it looks a little more spiffy around here. I worked on cleaning the vanity and toilet while she was at that. Then I started stirring up sugar cookies for the picnic. Sarah really wants them for the picnic. She says everyone loves your sugar cookies mom. I have a really good recipe with powdered sugar in it, and I always use real butter. The other thing I do differently than most people is that I roll them thick, usually a quarter inch thick and use my cake decorating frosting recipe to decorate them with. Yummy! Any whoo...I didn't have enough flour. This was around noon so they sat until I could get to the store. I just got back from the store about 20 minutes ago at 4 pm! These need to chill for 3 hours so I won't be baking till after 7 pm. I had a bunch of phone call's which detained me. One of them was from Mike Danowski, my friend and classmate, who lives in Germany. He wanted to hear all about the class reunion, which I wasn't able to go to. But he said Pam had posted 85 pictures on facebook. We started looking at them together, he in Germany on his computer, and me here on mine. We were trying to figure out who some of the people were and between the two of us, we eventually got them all figured out and had some good laugh's at some of the pictures. It took us about an hour to go through them so you know we were having a good time at it. He will be home for a visit in October and I can't wait to see him. We have been friends since he moved here in the 6th grade. An old and dear friend. Later...Boo

Animal Stories

Good evening! We had a fabulous time at Sandy Wellumson's stamping party last night. The room was full of laughter and chatter. We did some cute projects that I will be posting on another day. I haven't taken pictures of them yet. I have been busy baking for Sarah and Zach's wedding picnic this weekend. I made 2 loaves of pumpkin bread on Friday, an apple cake on Sunday night, and a pan of peanut butter chocolate chip brownies today. Sarah put me in charge of baking. I am glad that I have air conditioning or I would have one hot house this week! I finished 6 cards today, put in the stamping order, cleaned the cat box, got the laundry all done, stripped the bed, washed the sheets, remade it and who knows what else...lol I guess you will have to ask the cats. If they could talk, they would tell you as they were following me around. And Miss Molly kept planting herself on top of my card stock when I was making cards, or would sit on the computer table and she would pet me with her paw until I would pet her back. She is such a smart little thing although her timing is not always the best. But when the cat's want attention, they want it right now. And of course my cat's are not spoiled or anything. I also got some resting in several times today as my body is flaring and I am trying to stop it, if I can.
Today's cards feature the stamp set Animal stories. It is a fun cute stamp set and has matching DSP to go with it that is called Tall Tales that I have used on these cards. It is so bright and cheery. I really like it. Have a good night! Elaine

Love You Much & Fundamental Phrases

Tonight is Sandy Wellumson's stamping party and I have some wonderful project's planned.
So I have been busy packing and preparing for tonight.

This card features the stamp set Love You Much & Fundamental Phrases. The birds are stamped on and then I stamped them again on dsp and cut them out and attached them over the top which is also know as paper piecing. After I stamped the word husband, I used the Modern Label Punch to punch out the word husband. Right now I think that punch is one of the best investments you can make in the catalog as it fits so many words and phrases that we have in the catalog. It also can be used to label file folder's etc. A great punch!

Manhatten Flower Texture Embossing Folder

Sorry I have been MIA the past few days. I haven't been feeling the greatest. I did both days of the flea market but missed both nights of Class Reunion events. :-(

Today's card feature's the Manhatten Flower Texture Embossing Folder which is the center panel of this card. I just love it. It is such an elegant look. The designer paper is Parisian Breeze, another favorite of mine, white satin ribbon, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White Card Stock, Stamp Set: Fundamental Phrases, and silver hodgepodge hardware.

Coffee Tin

Yesterday was one of those big days in life...one of those unforgettable days like the day(s) you give birth to your children. Days you will never forget. Yesterday we went wedding dress shopping in Madison for Jenna. The last of my two daughter's is getting married. The wedding date is set for December 27th.

I started the day by going to the Hill of Beans Coffee Shop where I am selling some of my things. My cards are selling very well. I put what I had made in the rack, made a list of what I need to make, and visited a bit with Sherri. It is such a cute little shop, and smells so good in there. Then I picked up Sarah in the Kohl's parking lot and we headed to Madison to David's Bridal. We were the first one's there and Brittany arrived a few minutes later. Brittany is Jenna's best friend. Sarah and Brittany are going to be co-matron/maid of honor. We went inside while we were waiting for Jenna to arrive and found out that we needed to have an appointment. The earliest they could get us in was at 3:30 and that was only after I said that we needed to have it that day as it would be hard to get everyone together again. We looked around, got some idea's, and then Jenna came. We looked some more and then went for lunch. We had a nice leisurely lunch at Old Chicago outside on the terrace. They had given us some small catalog's to look at and we were to put check marks by the things we liked so they would know what to bring out when we went back for our appointment. That really speeded things up when we did have the appointment. We got back to the shop around 2:15 and they took us early around 2:30 which was good as we needed the time! Jen tried on 5 dresses and the second one that she had on was the one she selected. When they put the veil's on her and the two of us were alone. She said to me ....Mom, I want to cry. I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry on my wedding day. And then MOM started to cry as she looked so very beautiful and the minute the veils went on she knew she had selected the right dress. Everything came together. Brittany and Sarah will be wearing Apple red dresses and they are gorgeous. It is going to be a beautiful wedding! I can't wait! We finished up around 5:30 at the bridal shop and then Sarah and I went looking for white shoes for her but didn't find any and we were to tired to look further. We ended up the day at Michael's and then headed home. I blew into Mayberry around 9:15, after leaving at 8am and was one tired camper! But boy was it fun and guess who has lot's of pictures of the day!?!?!?! LOL Me

Chocolate Tin#2

Hi! Yesterday I got 9 gift card holder's done and 9 sympathy cards. I had all the coloring done. It sure goes a lot faster when things are prepped in advance! Susie was over today and showed me the new Halloween stamps she got with her Archiver's gift certificate that she received for her birthday. What a fun place to have a gift certificate from! She had a blast with her daughter-in-law picking out stuff.

We spent the rest of the day working on the computer. She brought over her lap top and I showed her how to do a bunch of things to do on it. Later in the day....Diane and Beth bombed in for a visit. So my house was full of company, as usual with lots of laughter, just how I like it!

This is another tin I made with 3 x 3 note cards in it and my "Chocolate" stamps. It is hard to see in the picture but there are chocolate chips stamped on the back of the envelope. Make it a great day!

Embrace Life/ On Your Birthday

Greetings from Mayberry! I am in my stamping cave working on gift card holder's for Hill of Beans Coffee in the Dells. I plan on stopping in there on Thursday to put more items in before we head out for wedding dress shopping in Madison. If I have time, I will shoot some pictures of the shop for you to see. I just had a salad with tomato's from my tomato plant. Boy are they yummy! Thanks Sarah and Zach!

Think Happy Thoughts

It was another busy day in Mayberry yesterday. I spent most of the morning on the computer catching up on email and learning how to do some new things on here. I really love learning how to do more on the computer. I made 6 "old ladies" cards yesterday that turned out real cute and you will get to see them in the future. I usually wait and photograph a whole bunch of things at one time and I keep a file on the computer all ready for using on my posts. I ran some errands in town and then it was off to Lady Di's so I could help fill her "Chicken" craving. She sure does like her chicken and I think one of these day's she is going to be sprouting wings! We headed up to Cat's Down the Road which has great baked and fried chicken on Monday nights. If you haven't been there....it is definitely worth trying. You will love it! I just had to stop typing for a minute as one of my "children" was up to no good. I heard Taffy bring something out from under the couch and she was tossing it so I had to go look to see what she had and she had one of my rubber stamps! So I scarfed that up from her and will have to get that put back in the right set. I suppose she scarfed it, and hid it while I had that stamp set out on my desk. Such a little dickens! Any whoo.....we ran into Melissa, AJ, and Isabelle before we left Cats and then we headed to the Rapids to Walmart. I did my grocery shopping for the month (or two). Running to the store for a couple of things is not my idea of fun so I usually do it all at once and when I finally run out of a lot of stuff and I get sick of trying to come up with something to eat...then I finally go....tee hee!
