Mason's baptism card

This is the card that I made tonight for Mason's baptism.  Tomorrow Colleen and I will be going to Milwaukee to his baptism.  I am really looking forward to it, and to seeing everyone.
We have been busy, and the days are just flying.  Soon it will be time for Colleen to go home.  I can't believe how fast the time went.  I will be sad when she goes, there is so much more that we would like to do and we are running out of time.  Thursday we had a long fun day.  We left at 8am and got home at 10:45.  I am still trying to recover from it but it sure was fun.  We went to 2 quilt shops, 2 thrift stores, a cheese factory, House on the Rock, and Colleen made a run into the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center.  We ended the day with supper at Cracker Barrel.  Yesterday, I rested most of the day, and Colleen stamped and played.  I did a little bit towards evening.  Today I did some laundry and a bunch of stamping.  I showed Colleen how to color with my Copics and she enjoyed doing that and wants to get some.  She also liked the Bind-It-All and the Circle Scissor Plus.  Wait till you see the adorable card that I made with that today!  Well, I need to head out and hit the bed.  The Ambien should be kicking in soon....lol  It takes about a half hour to work, and I am out like a light!

Sail boat Baby Card

I had made several of these cards a while ago and I believe this is the only one left. It was a very popular card. Guess I will have to make some more! The Designer paper and Congratulations stamp set were freebies during Sale A Bration last year. I love the colors in it and was really happy how this card turned out. Speaking of Sale A Bration.....this year it will be for 3 months! WOWZER....lots of time to get lots of free stuff. We haven't gotten the details yet but there will be the opportunity to pick out from over 80 stamp sets in the catalog. I am guessing that you will have to spend over certain dollar amounts to get certain sets. Isn't that cool! If you would like to have a party during Sale A Bration let me know. I booked my first one today. Doris Kolberg stopped in today to book her's and it is going to be on Tuesday, January 5th, opening day of Sale A Bration.

I had a bunch of phone calls this morning and put in my stamping order. I ventured out of the house today for the first time since Saturday. I needed 3 more sheets of brushed gold card stock for the wedding invitations so went out to Lady Di's to pick that up. She showed me all the goodies she has been making. I was up and down off the stool as it is uncomfortable for me to sit for any period of time. But it was good to get out for a little bit and we got a bite to eat at the Hwy 13 and 21 restaurant before I headed home. We had lots of laughs as usual. Sometimes all we have to do is look at each other and we are cracking up. Most people would think we are nuts at what we think is funny...but we just "get" each other. We sure do have a lot of fun together.

Getting in and out of the van is a real bear.....so my trips out and about will be limited. :-( So come visit me!!!!! I would suggest coming through by Gierienger's office/the ambulance building and parking in the parking lot there and walking over. My road is really getting to be a mess. Right now there is an end loader in front of my house, stuff on the left of the driveway and pipe in my front yard. Soon....tomorrow or Monday, I would guess....they will have it dug up in front of my house as they are very close now.
I printed out the insert for the wedding invitation after I got back and then laid down to rest for a bit. "Bit" it did not turn out to be...lol I was watching Bones and only got through about a half an hour of it and kept falling asleep. I rewound about 3 times, then finally gave in to it and slept. Two and a half hours later......I am waking up at 8:00 pm! Pain takes a lot of energy and I guess that my body is craving sleep. Well, I am off to work on the invites some more. I really want to have them done to give Jenna on Sunday. Later alligator! Me

Oh Baby!

This is the new personalized stamp I ordered from STAMPIN' UP! to stamp on the back of my greeting cards and stamped projects. According to the angel policy, you can use STAMPIN' Up!'s stamps to make things to sell but you have to have STAMPIN' UP on it. I ran out of baby cards today at the flea market so made a few up tonight after I woke up from my nap. I really like making baby cards, they are fun to do. It is fun to use the pastel colors. As my friend Colleen in Oregon says...you love the Soft Subtles and Earth Elements. She is right about that. I think those color families mix and match the best. If someone is new at making cards, I would suggest starting with the Soft Subtles. There is no way you can come out with a bad color combination using them! Colleen also gives me a bad time about using Chocolate Chip so much. I wonder if they got a storm on the coast tonight as we were Iming and suddenly she was off line and hasn't been back on. I think the internet has been kind of glitchy the past few days. Some of the emails I have sent to people with Verizon have been bouncing back.

The weather was fabulous here in Mayberry today. I love it...it can stay this temperature forever. I bought a cool old ladder today from my next door neighbor's, Jessie's folks, at the flea market today. I have been wanting one for displaying quilts on for years. I would love to bring it home but don't know where I would put it at the moment, unless it went upstairs in my sewing room and I would hate to hide it away up there. It is too cool for that. So for now it will stay down in the stall and I will use it for displaying things there. I believe it was hand hewn, it is grey, rough, and weathered looking. Pretty neat.

I made 7 more hair clips today so now have a total of 13 done. I need to get more cut out so I will work on something else tomorrow. Either I will stitch towels or do more coloring of images. Enjoy this wonderful weather! Boo

The card above has a little tag hanging from the ribbon that say hello baby. When I was taking the picture, I didn't think to check to make sure that it was showing!
