THE DRESS!

Ahhhhhh......I fooled you!
On Saturday, Sarah and I went wedding dress shopping and we found one.....and bought it!!! She looks drop dead GORE...JUS in it! She says it is her dream dress...which makes mama very happy! She said to me when we got in the van after we bought it that she thought we would have to go to 10 stores before she found one that she liked. She said "Mom...did you think we would buy one today?" and I said YES! And the neat thing about it is that we bought it as Cupids Corner in WI Rapids and I bought my wedding dress at Cupid's Corner to when it was at Johnson Hills years ago. History repeats itself! Any whooooo......I can't show you the dress, it's a surprise! But I will show you a picture that I cropped out of the detail of the dress! Have a great day! Boo

Sarah and Della

Sarah's best friend Deanna had a baby a couple of weeks ago and they named her Della. Sarah and I went to Fort Atkinson to see them at the hospital. Sarah just loves her to death. We had a nice visit and also went to Good Will and Jo Ann's while we were out and about. A very fun day!

Hobo Bags

Here are some pictures of some hobo bags that I have made. I have carried one of these bags for a year now and just love it!

Dawn from Milwaukee who I met at the Scrapbook Pajama Party Weekend in Milwaukee just sent this information to me and I thought I would post it on here so that you could see it. Melissa is getting into jewelry making, I suppose I will get dragged to this....lol.....screaming and kicking!

The Auctions at the Bead&Button Show - We raised $28,825!
We are grateful to all of you who participated in the Bead Artists Against Breast Cancer fundraising efforts during this year's Show. You made so many donations and generously bid on the auction items - thank you sincerely for your commitment to this worthy cause. We applaud your efforts.

The beneficiary of this year's auctions is the Medical College of Wisconsin. Their mission is to uncover the causes of cancer through basic and clinical research and to translate this knowledge into effective treatment and set national standards for cancer patients. We have earmarked the dollars raised solely for breast cancer research.

This year, we bettered all previous records for fundraising at the Bead&Button Show. The contributions consisted of $23,825 raised during the Silent and Live Auctions, and $5,000 from Kalmbach Publishing Co., publisher of Bead&Button, BeadStyle, and Art Jewelry magazines in matching funds.

Special thanks go to the editorial staffs from Bead&Button, BeadStyle, and Art Jewelry magazines who tirelessly covered the Silent Auction booth at the Show and coordinated the Live and Silent Auctions at the Bead Social. They did an amazing job of organizing the donations and keeping track of all the bidding.

We also applaud Rio Grande, sponsor of this year's Bead Social and Auction Night. Rio Grande also donated to the auctions and contributed many door prizes for attendees. Grateful thanks also to our auctioneer, Jackie Truty, President of Art Clay World USA who definitely raised the bar on our fundraising at the Social.

We would also like to mention, and thank, the incredible work and dedication by teacher Jeanette Shanigan who coordinated the 20 bead quilts auctioned off during the Bead Social. The quilts are always at the top of items and dollars raised. Jeanette has been tireless in her annual commitment to this cause. Here is the link to participate in the 2009 Bead-It-Forward Quilts.

The Bead Social and Auction Night was a merry evening of meeting beading friends, enjoying cake and coffee, and more importantly coming together to generously raise money for Bead Artists Against Breast Cancer. To all of you who generously gave, our heartfelt thanks. Be sure to join us next year at this lively and special event. Tickets will go on sale online on December 12.

Planning the 2009 Show - we are off and running ...
We spent some leisure time beading, walking by favorite lakes, fishing, swimming, and just enjoying ourselves at summer festivals after this year's successful Bead&Button Show - we earned it (and needed it). However, August will find us sorting through boxes and boxes of jewelry again as we receive close to 1,500 teaching submissions. If you could be with us as we unpack the jewelry, you would hear our oohs and ahs and sheer delight from the Show team and editorial staff. We can't help ourselves, it's fun to hold and model all that jewelry!

If you have not yet submitted your online applications to teach in 2009, we encourage you to do so. Jurying starts in August - don't miss the opportunity to teach at the largest consumer bead show in the world - we welcome you to our lineup of outstanding faculty from the U.S. and abroad.

Apply here to teach at the 2009 Bead&Button Show.
