Filling the magnet rack

You have probably been asking yourself the question why does she keep making magnets?!?  Di had said to me earlier in the week, you have made enough of those, go on to the 100 cards you want to make with the birthday cake set.  She is exaggerating of course, about the 100, she learned that from me....lol.  When she was down to the flea market with me on Friday and saw the magnets in the card rack, she said "Wow! Those fit in there perfectly."  And she said she now could see why I had to keep making  them as the rack is so large, it would look to empty.  But I think this will be the last batch for a little while.  I have other things I want to get done before we open on Saturday.  I made something cute and new today....you will love it!
Oh!  And I have good news.  Mike in Michigan and his friend Mike are working on the hard drive that I thought had crashed (in Michigan) and he called and it works.  We don't know WHY it is working...but we are happy about it.  It may be the USB port that I had it plugged into went out.  They are doing some checks, and clean up on it while they have it.  Mike also said that he will do a transfer of all my files onto one of his external hard drives before sending my hard drive back to me.  Just in case something would happen in the mail, there will be a back up copy!  I am thrilled that it is working as I had a ton of digital stamps on there that I had either bought or downloaded for free, plus classes, special projects, cards, photo's and movies.  About 4 years worth of saving stuff!  I called Lady Di up and was singing Zippitey-Do-Da and she sang with me and then wanted to know what made me happy that I was Zippitey!  So I told her about the hard drive and she laughed!  I also told her that Kramer had said that he had tried to sell pictures of me and her that were on there on the internet and he couldn't get any money for them.  He told me to tell Di that it was because she was a democrat...that people don't want pictures of democrats!  LOL  We both got a laugh out of that!

A bad blogger

Hello!  I have been a bad blogger this week.  Too much going on and not enough time and/or zip to do it.  I am feeling rotten at the moment.  I started with itchy eyes yesterday and have now progressed into junk in my throat, a dry hacky, barky cough, and it is going into my chest.  Allergy season...fun fun.  I am very allergic to pollen and I have heard that this is one of the worst seasons in about 30 years.  Oh well...so it goes.
It has been a week of doctor's appointments.  I spent Tuesday afternoon in Mauston having a physical, mammogram, and several sets of lab tests.  The unfortunate news is that I now am going to have to take blood pressure medicine.  :-(  Sandy Wellumson brought me a bunch of cool fabric and other things after I got home.  She is doing some cleaning out, and I am beyond thrilled to get it.  It is just like Christmas and the wheels are already turning as to what I am going to do with it!  Wednesday, I made these magnets, and Sue Bartels came for a visit.  I also did some other cleaning up, picking up around here.  I was suppose to have Direct TV come to make the switch that day but that ended up falling through.  When they didn't show by one, I called Verizon.  After about 2 hours of phone calls, and finding out that the order was lost, that they couldn't keep my phone number the same, and it was going to cost more to make the switch, I decided not to do it.  The only good thing that came of it all is that they were able to upgrade my dsl to a little higher speed for a few less dollars per month.  So that was a bummer, a big waste of time which was frustrating.
Thursday was a trip to Madison to the Spine Clinic.  I may have to go back in a month or two depending upon how some other tests turn out that I am having done the end of May and beginning of June.  Diane went with me and we stopped at Scrapbook Super Store, China buffet for lunch, Archivers and then I did my grocery shopping at Walmart in Baraboo on the way home.  A long day but fun.  I finished watching the movie Emma after I got done putting groceries away, and rested awhile, then packed up my stamping order, did some dishes, and imed with Colleen.  I ended up sleeping in late this morning, and Di called shortly after I got up to see if I would go with her to deliver her Pampered Chef order.  Some of the people had stamping order's here so we dropped those off at the same time, and stopped at the library, and flea market.  Now it is time to go rest for awhile.  I sure feel yucky!  Have a great weekend!  Elaine

Magnets

These are the magnets that I was working on yesterday.  I decided just to take a couple of pictures with all of them in, instead of individually as there are a lot of repeats of images.  Some of them have different friendship sayings on them though.  I got them all packaged up and ready to go down to the flea market this evening.  I made a quick stop down there when I went to the library this afternoon.  I put a few things in that I had marked and all I had to do was to display them.  I slept almost a 12 hour stretch last night!  I got up once to go to the bathroom but otherwise I slept from 11 pm till 10:30 this morning.  Boy do I feel fantastic.  Sure wish I could bottle that feeling, and the amount of sleep.  My living room almost looks back to normal now.  I am so happy to have all that stuff out of here!  It was just to cluttered to suit me.  Well....back to marking!!!  Have a great weekend!  Elaine

Have a Purr fect day!

Hello!  Isn't this little kitty a sweetheart with a smile on her face!?!?!  Content and happy, just like cats usually are.
Today the stamping order from Danna's party arrived, and Susie Smith, Sandy Renner, and Diane Dilworth were all here today to pick up their order's.  Sandy took Danna's and Tammy's too.  My mom was over tonight for a visit for about an hour and Debi stopped over for some more little gifts.  Remember the tags I told you I was working on yesterday!?!?  Well, I got the rest of the tag edges punched and they are all distressed.  I said to Di on the phone today, I was wrong about it being about 200.  I said it is over that.  She says to me.... knowing I go overboard on things....."Can you count that high!?!?"  Smart ass.  LOL  Any how, it was a total of 233!  Yikes!  I am set on those for awhile!  I found a free pattern on line for a small baby bib.  It is the kind that you use when the babies are little and you are bottle or breast feeding.  I cut 14 of them out tonight.  So I have some things ready to sew.  I used to make different style bib's when I had the store but I have not made this size before.  I have just a blast scouting out all the sewing blog's these days and I am finding a ton of cute things for babies.  Only 14 more days and we will (hopefully!) find out what our new little bambino will be!  Can't wait!

Cupcake Girl

Oh...I am running out of pictures!  I need to take some time and shoot a bunch.  There are plenty of things to show you, I just need some extra time!  Another crazy day in Mayberry.  I awake most of the night, and when I was sleeping good,  Debi woke me up this morning that her sister was coming over to buy a pin cushion, so I showered and got dressed right away after I got myself  "out of the coma!" Dawn ended up getting some other stuff too.  I started working on tags for my pin cushions, and in between all the commotion today, I probably stamped 200.  As Di says...."You can never do anything in a small way"!  And she is right about that.  I probably have at least a dozen different sewing sayings that can go on them.  I didn't get them finished.  They are stamped but I still have a bunch to notch the corner's on and distress, then embellish....a long process, but once they are done, I won't have to do that step for a long time, and people will be able to choose what saying they want on it.  I will have a very nice selection all ready.  I am used to working assembly line style from when I used to have the store.  Even though I can't work at that pace anymore, or that many hours a day, I still work the same way, just in bits and pieces.  Debi was over too.  Judy from FM support group called and wanted to know if she could come over and pick up some Wild Rice soup and she took the last I have of that.  I was just about to rest when my cousin Heather got dropped off here by the gal from TNT Auto Body.  I can't think of her name right now, but she is a sweetheart.  Any whoo....Heather lives across from the hospital now with the Vondrak's and she got the hair brained idea that she would walk to her sister Dawn's house in Adams!  She has MS, and can barely walk period!  I guess she got a block from Vondrak's and fell down.  Her white pants were all dirty.  Then she walked as far as TNT and was tired out so she went into the garage to see if they would let her sit down a while and they did.  Then she ended up getting brought to my house.  We visited awhile and then she wanted me to take her to Dawn's to get some soy milk.  Heather nearly fell out of the van trying to get out and went into the house.  Dawn came walking up with her grand kids a few minutes later, and got a puzzled look on her face when she saw me.  I explained what happened, and she gave Heather a lecture when she got into the house.  It didn't seem to bother Heather any though.  When she get's an idea in her head (that she needed the soy milk), it is sometimes hard to talk her out of it.  So I took her home, and then hit the bed for my rest time.  Ate supper in bed and caught up on some of my blog reading for a couple of hours.  I cut 35 pin cushions out tonight with the Big Shot and went to the grocery store to get a few things.  Time for beddy bye...I am wiped!

Emma on the tree stump

Hello!  I am up late tonight.  I ran out of steam around 4:30 and took the lap top with me to bed.  I did a little Iming with Colleen and then Di called.  After writing to Ron, I conked out around 5:30 and ended up sleeping till 7.  I don't like that when it happens but not much I can do it.  My body crashes when it wants too.  But I was up in the sewing room after that and got a lot of cutting done and I sewed a little quilt.  I have the top pieced, borders on, and it all sandwiched and pinned together.  I started getting tired again so came down about a half hour ago, and then Jenna called.  It always makes me nervous when the phone rings this late but when I see Jen's name on caller ID, I know everything is OK.  She was just getting off work and took a chance that I would still be up.  Funny thing is that she rarely wakes me up, almost like an ESP between us that she calls on the nights I am still up.  Earlier today, I went to the library and Practical Cents.  I found a few good things for displaying, a couple of cute tops, an old bingo game (I will use the cards and wood pieces for altering projects), a napkin holder to alter, and a small bowl that is the same color pink as the quilt I recently found so I think it is from the 40's, or possibly 50's.  I am not sure what I am going to do with that yet, but I love the color of it!  ;-D  It would be cool to make it into a pincushion.  Susie came over for a visit and I showed her how to make the brooches with the flower fold die.  Her die will be arriving on Thursday.  She wants to make some for gifts.  My neighbor Debi was over and bought a pincushion for a gift.  She sure likes giving them for little gifts to people.  After Susie left, I made 3 more brooches so I got a total of 4 of them done today.  This is one of the nine magnets I made yesterday.  They are all a little bit different.  Either the color of their hair, or the color of their outfits, or how I laid out the pieces for the sun, and some have a little butterfly flying in the air.  More and more, the stuff I am creating is one of a kind.  Have a great day!  Elaine

Easter Magnet

Hello!  This little stamper girl is tired tonight and I am sure will fall fast asleep when she hits the bed, especially since she has just taken her Tylenol PM!  I was up early today, at 5 am on the computer as usual but by the time I got sleepy enough to go back to sleep I had to get up because Breezy was coming so set the alarm for 7.  I don't think they actually got here till after nine to bring the stove.  His friend Mike helped him bring it.  Mike bought a house and they did not want an electric stove so they bought a gas one.  Sarah wanted electric so she took the electric one, and I got their gas one.  So it has been a game of musical stoves.  And my old one, my dad is junking out so I didn't end up having to pay a dump fee which was great!  You would not believe how different it looks in my kitchen.  I did not expect that.  Mine had a black glass door, and black glass on top, and the rest was almond colored.  This whole stove is a off white color and it really brightens up the kitchen and it doesn't stick out as a far either.  So it is like my kitchen got a mini make over!  LOL  Breezy and Mike also screwed the book case at the bottom of the steps to the wall so that is all taken care of.  They have some projects at Mike's house this week and then will be back here next week to do some things here.  I did a bunch of coloring today with a new digital image I bought and the matching tree stump with mushrooms.  Absolutely adorable and I just finished putting together 9 magnets with Emma sitting on the tree stump.  Maybe I can get some photo's of her taken tomorrow.  Too tired tonight.  A lot of cutting on today's project and I did that while resting and watching Bones, then went to the fibromyalgia support group tonight.  It is good to be going to that again.  It is a nice group of people and good to talk to people with similar problems.  Well, I need to glue the magnets on the back of Emma and then I am off to bed!  See ya tomorrow!!!

Couple Magnet

Good Morning!  I started working on this post last night before I went to bed but the Tylenol PM kicked in and I had to go to bed!  LOL  I was just to sleepy to finish it.  
Yesterday, I had a call from Lady Di.  She invited me to come out and play with them.  Her sister Judi and nephew Richard are visiting at her house right now.  She tells me that Richard wants me to bring my Chocolate Chip bars.....and I say "yeah, right", knowing full well that Di loves them, thinking it was her idea and that she is just blaming it on Richard!  It turns out that it really was Richard that wanted them, and he tells Di to tell me that his mom will pay for them...she just doesn't know it yet!!!  Those nuts!  So I got out the stuff for the bars and let the butter unthaw while I took a shower and got my other stuff ready to take.  I stirred them up, and I baked them out there.  I took my scrap bin and punches along and punched out scraps for hours while visiting and watching TV.  I still have not hit bottom, but I am getting closer!  After supper, I worked on making some embellishment with the punch outs.  I put center's on some of the flowers and tied tiny little bows on top of them so I have a bunch of them all ready to work with now.  I had a fun day and Di made a fantastic supper as usual!

Hummingbird Magnet

Here is a picture of a Hummingbird magnet that I made.  This morning I put in the stamping order, and in the afternoon, Barb Cook stopped over to pick up her order from last month, and to visit.  I had to go to Pamida and pick up my prescriptions this afternoon as I was out of two of my medications.  I started working on 4 baby boy cards and finished one of them.  Just wasn't in the right mood for it today so spent hours punching scraps out laying on the bed watching Dr. Oz episodes that I had taped.  Someday, I hope to hit the bottom of the scrap bin.  This is the farthest down I have ever gotten it in the four years I have been stamping.  The problem is that you are always creating MORE scraps!  Oh well.....it keeps me out of trouble, I love using them, and my stamper's love receiving them!

You're Stuck With Me

I made this little cutie yesterday for Diane.  The minute I saw this stamp on line and matching verse, I just thought she was just too stinkin' cute and that Lady Di would love her and I had to order her.  This little sweetheart came all the way from Canada.  I made her into this magnet.  Her name is Drucilla but she so reminds me of Pippy Longing Stockings!  I loved that book growing up.  Pippy was outrageous, and I loved that about her, she did and said things that I never had the courage to do as a kid.  I colored 5 more of this image yesterday that I will be making up into something.  I may put her in a picture frame, we will see.  A very time consuming image to color as everything is so detailed that you have to work very slowly so that you do not go out of the lines, but oh so satisfying when you get her finished.  A great gift to give a spouse, friend, or family member and of course I love anything that is sewing related.
I have been working on stitching card stands today and so far have 10 done.  It is a good project to do while watching TV.  I have been catching up on some of the episodes of Bones that I have recorded.  I also have everything all packed for Danna's party tomorrow night.  It should be a fun night, we have 13 people signed up to come right now which is wonderful!

Sewing in my castle...

I spent most of the day up in the sewing room.  I just absolutely love it up there.  The sea foam color is so soothing and relaxing.  A very peaceful place to work.  I feel like I escape when I am up there and I am very thankful to be able to climb the stairs right now.  I was working on baby burp pads today.  I got 10 of them sewn and I just need to finish clipping a few of them and they will be ready to be washed so that they rag.  Susie stopped in for a little while today and we had a nice visit.  If you do stop over some time and the van is here, and I don't answer the door, buzz me on your cell phone as I may be upstairs and I have a phone in the sewing room.  I can't see the driveway from up there unless you are at the end of the driveway by the street.  It is really difficult to tell if someone is here when you are up there, and now with people going in and out of the ambulance parking lot, it is a lot harder to tell if someone is in my driveway.  I would hate to miss you!  I also got 7 ponytails, and 9 tissue holder's done last night after my 3 and 1/2 hour nap!  Only 8 more weekends till the flea market starts....YAHOO!  I can't wait!  I am off to finish clipping so that maybe I will have a picture tomorrow for you of baby burp pads!  Have a good night!  Me

Yackette's Ride Again!

Hello!  Here is a picture of some more magnets I made to sell.  I made 4 of these.  I didn't get anything accomplished today.  I slept all night, was up a couple of hours and then slept till noon.  My body seemed to be sucking up the sleep from the lack of it.  I feel much better today.  I still wasn't too hungry but my stomach did not hurt today, only had one yuck spell of acid when I bent to pick something off the floor so I think I am over what ever bug I had.  I needed to mail something out late this afternoon so made a stop at Practical Cents while I was out and about and picked up some little things that I am going to turn into pincushions.  Its a new idea I have.  White tags were 75 percent off, and yellow 50 percent off so I ended up with a bag of goodies for $3.00.  I can't wait to get started on that.  Then I made a quick stop to the library and got back here right in time for the Yackette's to start arriving.  We had a really nice time.  We haven't met for months so it was a real treat to get together all though not all of the gang made it tonight, but we had 5 all together.  We went out to Spot in The Woods for pizza and they have really good pizza.  I had not had it there before.  I have only eaten there one other time with Debby from IL, and hubby, and we had breakfast which was very good.  Try it out sometime...you will like it!

Hello from sick ville!  Another day of feeling rotten, at least I didn't have the headache today.  Mainly a sore stomach and rotten feeling all day long.  I had my little sweat shop going most of the day.  I finished 15 more fabric pins, 2 crochet pins, and 2 tissue covers plus have more of them ready to finish.  I got sick of working so quit.  I sure hope I sleep tonight.  I didn't fall asleep till after 5 this morning and slept till about 8:30 and have been awake since then.  I rested a couple of hours this afternoon but did not fall asleep.  I think I will take some tylenol pm, do some cleaning until it starts working and hopefully hit the hay and get a good nights sleep!  See ya tomorrow!  Elaine

Rainbow Magnet

My day started out with a visit from Susie today.  We had a lot of catching up to do and I showed her all the stuff I have been working on.  She bought a bunch of stuff for gifts.  I gave her a metal bear/tree candle holder that I found in my travels that I thought would look perfect in her house.  She has a beautiful log home.  She brought me a wall cabinet that she no longer needs as Wayne built her a bigger one.  It is so cute.  Now I need to figure out where I am going to put it.  After she left, I returned Di's phone call as we were chit chatting before Susie stopped in.  I started working on the little fireman magnet for Susie.  She wanted one for her grandson Jayden.  I finished that and hit the bed around 2 as I had felt rotten all day.  I think I have the touch of some flu bug as I felt like I wanted to throw up although I didn't, had the DH, migraine, burping.  I fell asleep and got up at 4 and felt worse than I did before I went to sleep.  I decided to take some migraine medicine and made something to eat.  The medicine relieved the headache and I started working.  I got a ton done although I feel rotten, now my stomach hurts.  But the good news is that I finished 9 flower pins tonight, finished up 16 crochet pins, put magnets on the back on the rest of the magnets I did yesterday, and cut out 17 more flower pins.  So I am a happy camper.  Drop in and see what I have been up too!

Owl Magnet

Hello!  Lady Di and I took a little road trip today to Stevens Point. We were going to pick up some fabric for Community Quilter's at Hancock Fabrics but after we got there we didn't like the looks of the sale fabric, that it was too thin so we did'nt buy any.  But, the good news is, that I got the rest of the fabric that I needed for the I Spy Quilt.  Jenna had requested turquoise and I found a really nice print for the back, and a different print for the front, and binding.  It is so pretty and will be great for either a girl or boy.  Hopefully in about a month, we will know what she is going to have.  Then Di decided we should go to Cold Stone Ice Cream and we had some ice cream. I have a feeling that we will no longer be able to make a trip to Stevens Point without stopping there.  Hee Hee!  We just discovered it was there this month. Then we decided to head towards home and stopped at the Scrapbook store at Coloma.  I had picked up some Animal Cracker's baby kits last summer and their were still 4 of them on the shelf, 2 girl, and 2 boy kits and they were marked down further so I took the last of them.  I made the most adorable baby cards with them last summer and they flew out so I wanted to get more of them while I still could. I have never seen them anywhere else, but I did see some cards made with them in CARDS magazine.  Each kit has 100 buttons, prima flowers, die cuts, chipboard letters,a total of 235 pieces per kit, and it worked out to less than 3 cents per item.  You sure can't beat that.  Normally I never buy kits as they are too expensive and I have felt from day one since I started stamping that it is way cheaper in the long run to buy tools and make your own flower's and letter's, whether you use punches or die cutting machines, or stamps.  You can make your own embellishments way cheaper than you can buy them and it is also a good way to use up scraps. I am a big fan of both punches and the Big Shot and use mine on a daily basis.  But this was too good to pass up and for the most part, colored button's usually run about 20 cents each or did when I was buying them to put on pillows that I made to sell when I had the store.  I haven't priced them for awhile.  I either buy mine now from Stampin' UP! or a thrift shop if I can find a good deal on them which is rare.  You would think button's were made of gold, and I am sure glad I have a good supply of them stashed away! So the button's alone were worth what I paid for the kits.  But I bought them for the die cut animals which couldn't be cuter!  Di was teasing me, she said you sure love your button's and I said "Yes"!  She says "You must have thousands of them", I said Yeah.  But I sure use a lot of them and she said "Yes you do!"  So...when I got home I rested awhile and after I got up, I combined the 4 kits and the previous 2 I had bought last summer (what's left of them) and sorted out all the elements so they will be easy to work.  Taffy and Molly for some reason were quite fascinated with the sorting process and were up on the stamping table watching.  After I got done with that, they took off.  Then I made 4 cards tonight that I will be showing at Danna's party and I just ate supper.  Sometimes I get so wrapped up in what I am doing that I forget to eat.  I just finished taking some pictures of the magnets I have been working on.  Finally you will get to see all the coloring I have been doing, or I should say did.  As most of the images were colored last summer or fall at the flea market.  But it sure makes the assembly work go a lot quicker when that much of the work is done. Coloring images is very time consuming, but can be quite relaxing and almost a form of meditation, because you can just kind of let your mind zone out. I just focus on the technique and picking the colors I want to use, shading, etc.  I just love this owl to pieces and am so sad that this digital image was stored on my external hard drive which crashed about a month ago!  Hopefully at some point I will be able to get some one to try and retrieve some of my stuff off of it.  I hope they will be able too.  If you would like to go back to the post to see the baby cards I made with the elements from these kits I bought today, look at the right side bar and under Labels.  Then click on the one that says baby and it will bring up the baby card posts.
