Love Wall Hanging

This project was made for Karen as a thank you gift for having her party.  It was all made with the Big Shot.  I used the scalloped square die to cut one square out of the white card board that comes with our designer paper, and then I cut a square out of Real Red card stock and adhered it to the card board.  Next I took a sheet of Love Impressions designer paper and cut it in to 3 3/4" squares and adhered that to each scallop square.  Next came Going Gray card stock which was ran through the big shot with the Scalloped Circle #2 die and adhered.  To cut the letters, I used our new red glitter paper that is in the Occasion Mini and ran it through with the Serif Essentials die.  I hot glued the squares to our Red and White striped ribbon, flipped the top of the ribbon down to form a loop, and used a separate piece of ribbon to tie a bow, and attached that with hot glue.  I am really happy with how it turned out and Karen loved it!  It was a big hit last night, and could be done with different colors and different papers for the different seasons.  A quick, fun, inexpensive gift (once you have the dies...LOL), but so versatile, and so many things you can do with these particular dies that I think they are a good investment.  I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day!  Show love to the people you care about in your life!!!  Elaine

Rag Bag

This is a picture of the rag bag I made while I was gone on the quilting retreat.  I had been planning on teaching this class and I now have a date set for Monday, January 31st.  It is made with the Big Shot and the scalloped square die. The flower fold die is used to make the flower that I have attached to it. I attached it to as a pin back so it is removable, and I can take it off if I want to throw the bag in the wash.  I have been using this as a purse and I just love it.  I have a plastic purse organizer in it and it fits in it perfect, and it is so easy to find everything in my purse.
I made my Cauliflower soup tonight and it sure was yummy!  I have been working on some Christmas presents today, and listening to Christmas music.  Beth was over to pick up some snail this afternoon and we had a nice little visit.  I ran over to the church this morning to pick up the snail, made a delivery, stopped at Family Dollar. I can hardly believe that today is over already.  Where do all the hours go!?!?!

Thank you gift for Doris!

I whipped up this pincushion this afternoon for Doris Kolberg as a thank you gift for having a party tonight.  Doris is not only one of my stamping friends, she is one of my sewing buddies.  In fact, I bought this fabric a few years ago when we went to the Sun Prairie quilt show, and fabric shopping after wards.  That day I was in a mood to buy fabric with sewing notion's on it and found a lot of cute stuff that day.  I made this pin cushion with the big shot and the scalloped square die.  You run 2 layers of fabric, 1 layer of batting through the machine first.  Then the batting goes in the center and the fabric is right side out for both pieces.  I used a quarter inch seam allowance and stitched around the square leaving an opening for stuffing.  I tightly stuffed it, and then stitched around it the rest of the way with the sewing machine.  Then I took black carpet thread, a doll needle and tufted the center, adding the heart shaped button.  The finishing touch is a tag stamped with the saying, "In the crazy quilt of life, I am glad you are in my block of friends."  It will be partying time soon!  Off to rest before I leave.  See ya later!

Holiday Gift Packaging Class

This can be used to give a large cookie as a gift or a CD or DVD holder.  The next item is made with the Top Note Die and can be used to package small items as a gift.  The third picture down is a picture of a holiday cracker.  It doesn't "pop", you untwist the ends to open it.  It is a project that takes lots of folding and scoring but well worth the extra work when it is finished!

This project uses the Scalloped Square Die and is perfect for a bottle of perfume, rolo's, candy canes, you name it.  A very fast and cute project.  The gals also received 9 pages of patterns and other inexpensive Holiday Gift Giving Idea's.  They were headed to the store when they left here to buy things to do some of them.  We worked with Christmas music playing and had a great time!
