Garden Whimsy

Here is a card that I did to use for a sample on how to use the Garden Whimsy set another way. I will be posting more samples that I made with Garden Whimsy in the next few days.
I have decided to hold a Christmas Stamp a Stack at Immanuel Lutheran Church on September 29th. It will be open house style and you can come and go between 2 and 8 pm. I will have stations set up and you can make as many of the cards that you would like to make. There will not be a "fee" for the stamp a stack, you will pay a dollar for each card that you make. You can make 5 cards or 30 cards that is up to you. This will be a great way to get a jump start on your Christmas Cards! Call now to reserve your spot!
I didn't do any crafting today. :-( It was a cleaning, paper work, bill paying day. But it looks a lot better around here and sometimes I have to take time to do that sort of stuff whethor I want to or not! Have a great day! Boo

Coloma Coffee House

Good Evening! I thought I would catch you up a little bit on my week. Monday and Tuesday were Stamp Camp's. On Wednesday, my sister Lenore came home and we went to the doctor with my mom. She had a mole removed about a month ago and they had to go back in a second time to remove more. This appointment was to see a cancer doctor and we weren't sure what to expect. We received good news which we are very thankful for...it was pre melanoma and being that she went in right away when the mole started to change, they got it all. So we were all very happy about that. We went to lunch at Family Affair, spent the rest of the afternoon visiting, and then Lenore and I went to Practical Cents. We filled up a whole grocery bag of clothes for the kids for $6.00! I bet we had 20 items so this really was a good deal! On Wednesday evening, Carol Camp and I went to see Mama Mia. This was a wacky, crazy, movie. Very funny, and touching and I would recommend going to see this. But this is definitely a chick flick so leave the guys home and call your girlfriends. It is very entertaining! On Friday, I met my friend and downline in Stampin' Up, Corinne Gussloff at the Coloma Coffee House. If you are looking for a good place to eat. This is it! It is a cute little place and has homemade food that is excellent! And you can eat indoor's or outside in the patio area. I took some pictures so you can see how cute it is! The hours are Tues-Sat 7-2 and Sun 7-1. Go try it out!
After lunch we went to Corinne and Gus's cottage at Pleasant Lake. It is really cute! I had brought along my new Big Shot Die Cutting Machine that we are now selling and showed Corinne how it worked. I had also taken a new catalog over for her as her's had not arrived yet. So we oohhhed an ahhhed all the new stuff! Later Gus took us on a Pontoon Boat ride around Pleasant Lake! What a fun day! August Scrapbook Class

These are the scrapbook pages and mini scrapbook that we made at August's Scrapbook Class. The mini scrapbook uses the stamp set Always and has 4 clear envelopes that you use to hold 8 photo's or 8 - 4x6 scrapbook pages. We used Big Deal Alphabet and Crab & Co to stamp the scrap book pages. We had a lot of beginner scrap bookers at this class so I taught a pretty basic page to start with and how to use a stamp set to make your own pattern paper. They also learned how to use a paper cutter, how to mat and crop photo's and how to make the most mat's out of a 12 x 12 sheet. They loved using the new scallop border punch to make the border on the mini album. We had a great time at all the classes and it was fun having new people join us. Having all the extra space at the church is wonderful!

August Stamp Camp

Here are pictures of the projects we did at the August Stamp Camp's this month. The coffee cup card is the challenge card for September. What that means is that anyone who wants to participate can make this card, drop in the bag when they enter the church door so that know one sees it. Later, I set up all the cards, give them a number, and each person gets to vote as to which is there favorite card. The winner gets to keep ALL of the cards. So they will use the layout from the coffee cup card but can change the stamp set and use what ever colors they choose. I will try and remember to shoot pictures of the cards that are entered in the card challenge next month so that you can see there creations!

Thoughts of Father

This stamp set is called Thoughts of Father. I purchased it before Father's Day so I could make my dad's Father's Day card with it and I demo'd it at Lady Di's party. I spent most of the day stamping and working on masculine cards. I can tell you one thing....I enjoy making foo foo girly type cards much better! And I don't have a lot of masculine type stamps at the moment so I have to get creative. But Diane and Melissa plan on coming to the rescue with some. I hope the new catty will have some new ones! Speaking of catties....still impatiently waiting for my cases to get here! For us stampers it is like waiting for the Christmas catalog to come when you were a kid!

Loads of Love

I made 6 of this card last night with the Loads of Love stamp set. I have a customer at the flea market who comes every weekend and buys a few cards. She asked me to make some masculine cards as the majority of the cards that I have down there are girly or friendship cards and she needs some male birthday cards. I hope to get some more done today! Boo

Bloomin' Beautiful

Here are a couple of cards that I made a few weeks ago out at Diane's house one afternoon. This is with the stamp set Bloomin' Beautiful which I absolutely LOVE! It makes the most beautiful cards. This set was in the Occasions Mini Catalog and Diane had ordered it. I was sad that I hadn't ordered it and didn't think it would be available for sale. Well...the next day, Diane surprised me and gave me hers!!!! Isn't she a sweetheart! And the better news yet is that I found out that it made the NEW catalog! Yippeee....I will be able to demo it and you will fall in love with it too! I asked Diane if she wanted her's back now that I could order it and she said no....she is not an Indian Giver! So lucky me! I hope you enjoy the cards! Boo

Taffy trying to make the Great Escape!

I got such a kick out of watching Taffy trying to see out the back door! I couldn't get a shot of her actually looking. She has a second sense of when I have the camera out but I did get some cute pictures of her. I was tapping on the window of the door so she would look out again. She would look...I would step back and she would turn and then look at me. I haven't had anything this high sitting by the back door for awhile so this was a new thing for her. I think she looks like she is trying to figure out a way to ESCAPE! When Molly was little, I had the cat food by the back door. She used to get up on top of the box and try and turn the door handle! Too cute! Enjoy your pets! Boo

Mini Scrap book

I also finished a mini scrap book today that I will have on display at the flea market. I make these little books (empty of pictures) with my bind it all to sell at the flea market. Lady Di has been after me to make up a sample for down there and I finally did today. I should have done it way before now....but it doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day most of the time! I also went to the bank and Practical Cents late this afternoon. At that point, I almost had this book done and I was trying to decide what I was going to put on the cover. I found this "bling" at Practical Cents. It is not my usual style but I thought it was kind of cute and that I could make it into a neat cover. I decided to mount it on Apricot Appeal card stock so that it would show up better. I had the tag, ribbon and button. Tell me what you think of the album. You can always leave comments on here and they get emailed directly to me, or better yet....stop down and see it in person and tell me! But I do love when I get comments on the blog!

I also found a bolt of tulle that we might use for the wedding or shower, plus a bunch of ribbon that I will be able to use on the cards that I sell. I hope tomorrow is as productive as today! Make it a good one! Boo

Summer School Picture in the Newspaper

Good Evening! I have had a productive day. I finished my projects for the scrap booking class that I will be teaching on Thursday night. It is ohhhhh so cute! I will post a picture of it after I hold the class. Can't spoil the surprise!
This weekend at the flea market I caught up on reading some of the Adams Blab. I did not know that the picture they took while I was doing my presentation at summer school made it in to the newspaper. I am on the far right. I had just gotten my haircut and it was too short to curl. So here is my "flat" look! Boo
