Bella Bloom Post a Note Holders

Brrr....it is cold outside!  Although I haven't been outside today, I have had to open the door a lot today, so I know it is freez'in out there!  I saw last night on the weather report that this is suppose to be the coldest week of the year (hopefully!)  Any hoooo....I am going to hole up in the house as much as I can.  I am stamping to keep warm, hee hee.  In between people stopping to pick up stamping orders today, I got 18 post a note holders finished.  Here are six of them.  This is another retired set, Bella Blooms.  I sure am enjoying inking up these sets.  It is like meeting up with an old friend again, ;-).  Susie was over for a visit today and brought yummy chocolate chip cookies with her, so we had coffee and cookies, and chatted.  She bought Di's bind it all from her and I showed her how to use it today.  Remember the grocery list pads that I just made!?!?  I use my bind it all to punch the holes in them and to cinch the spiral coils that hold it all together.  You will be seeing some more projects with it soon as I have another one up my sleeve!  Keep warm!  Elaine

Wishing You Life's Greatest Comforts

Good Evening! Last night I stayed up late and finished the wedding invitations as far as I could. I need some brushed gold card stock, and some ribbon that I ordered, and then I will be able to finish them. Twenty six are totally finished and the rest are assembled as far as I could assemble them. So I am 3/4 the way done on them. My ribbon will be arriving on Monday so I will be able to finish them after that.

Today, I awoke at 7 am to the sound of machinery. They were working on my street or some where near here. Fun Fun. So it looks like I am going to have to get to bed earlier as I am usually up a couple of hours (or more) each night. I think I got a total of four hours of sleep last night. So as soon as I am finished with this....I think I will hip hop off to bed. Molly will be glad of that. She is sitting on top of my wrists as I type... purring. She thinks it is petting time. Sometimes I think I need to hire someone to sit and pet her so I can get something done!!! She is one spoiled cat that is for sure. She is definitely my baby.

I worked hard today making cards. I was working with the Medallion stamp. It was my first day to play with it and it was so much fun. I got 18 cards finished today with 4 different designs that I will be showing to my stamp camps next week. Melissa stopped over for a while today. She is going to take some of Wayne's scrapbook stands to the CURDS event she is going to this weekend.

I just finished all the paper work for the Thrivent grant for Community Quilting. We will not be receiving a grant from them next year as they need to fund other organizations. So if you know of any organizations or individuals that would be interested in supporting a very worthy cause, please let me know. We get a lot of donations of fabric, but we need money to buy batting and sheets to back the quilts with. Any amount helps. The quilts go to victims of fires, tornado's, social services, rescue squads, sheriff department cars, domestic abuse, nursing homes, assisted living, etc. These quilts touch so many people in our community and all the quilts stay in Adams County. We will be able to apply for a grant with Thrivent again in 2011, but for 2010 we need to find other funding. Have a good night! Elaine

Tammy Renner's Stamping Party

Good Morning! As you can see, I am trying to get caught up on some of my posting before the month ends. Monday night I had a stamping party at Tammy Renner's house. We had a great turn out with 13 people attending! Tammy served us a fabulous meal and had the basement all set up so nice and cozy for us. Man...if I had a basement like that, we would be having stamp camp's here. But fortunately we are so blessed to be able to use the church.

I like to give my hostesses a little thank you gift from me on top of the hostess benefits they receive for having the party. When Tammy was unwrapping her hostess gift, I was telling the story behind it and she quick ripped it open, squealed, and ran and gave me a hug! Which gave me a BIG smile. It is nice when you actually tickle someone with the right gift! Now I am sure you are dying in suspense to know what it was! Tammy had been at the house one day and she spotted a pile of magazines/book's called CARDS Magazine. I just love that publication but it is too rich for my budget. Each book cost $20.00 and it is a monthly publication! Sooooo.....I put a post out on some stamping boards to see if anyone had any back issues that they wanted to sell. I had a number of people contact me and the people that were willing to sell them for $5.00 or less, I purchased them from. Any how....Tammy was paging through a couple and ooohhing and aahhing. So I found one for her later on and gave it to her at the party and she was thrilled! Later after everyone left and we were going over her hostess benefits, she said I am not sure what I am happiest about most, the benefits or the book! One little book or a couple hundred dollars worth of free stuff....what a choice....that is too funny! It just proves the point that gifts don't have to be expensive to make a person happy, just from the heart. Any hooo.....Tammy is getting the Big Shot for free!! YIPPEE!
The purse card we made with the big shot. The purse was made with two cordinating paper's and that you run through the Big Shot Machine with the Top Note Die. Then you cut each piece to 2 ", leaving you enough pieces to make a second card at the same time. The the flower's and leaves were cut with the Bird's and Bloom's die also ran through the Big Shot. I love how the flower's are all sized so that you can stack them on top of one another. What a cute embellishment for a card, scrapbook page or altered object! Think of all the color combinations you could make! "Thank you" is stamped from the set Short and Sweet. It is a little hard to see in the photo but the Riding Hood Red Card Stock that the purse is mounted on is stamped with Bella Toile. Isn't it stinkin' cute! I just love that card! And the other card is made with the Bella Blooms stamp set and Bella Rose papers which is a cute different way to use these punches and a very fast card to make.
