Freezin' Season

Happy Sunday!  Diane and I started the day with church and then went to Family Affair for breakfast.  We each commented that it had been along time since we had breakfast out.  I had my usual Ham & Cheese Omelet, Hash browns & Homemade Toast.  Di checked out my samples for Doris party and gave me a "thumbs up" on them.  She thought they were adorable.  I cut out a bunch more ponytails after she left, sewed a few, and then headed downstairs.  I did some stamping tonight.  I made a few more samples and this card.  This card is done in Elegant Eggplant, and Pretty in Pink.  If you are coming to Doris party, you will be able to see this one in person.  I used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, 2 new stamp sets from the Occasion Mini.  One is called Well Scripted, the other is called I (Heart) Hearts.  I bought both of these in the new Clear-mounts.  I left a few unmounted so that I can show you how to mount them.  The cases are very slim, labeled on the front and on the spine.  An excellent storage system.  I have quite a few sets of contraband stamps from different companies and no one out there has a system as good as these new boxes.  If you are a clear stamp person, you are going to love them.  And.....they stamp just as good as our wood mounted stamps.  You will still be able to purchase the wood mounted stamps if you decide that you want to stick with those.  But it is nice that they are now offering us a choice.  I also used a clip from the Clip Assortment on page 179 and the large heart punch, the scalloped edge punch, and 1/8" hand held punch.  Stay warm!

Hello!  Today Paul and I went to Tomah to the VA for his eye appointment.  I stitched while I was waiting and almost finished the project I was working on.  Just a little more left to do on it.  Then we went out for breakfast and had Ham and Cheese Omelets.  We both like those a lot.  I talked him into taking me to Good Will and he went to the Tractor Supply store.  I was very happy to find a pair of jeans.  I really need jeans badly right now.  Mine are all shot.  I also found 3 heavy duty metal pants hanger's which I love and they will be so great when I get in there to organize my clothes!  And the deal of the day was a whole bunch of homespun fabric for a $1.00 per yard!!!  And I found a couple other nice chunks of fabric that were pretty cheap too.  I ended up being done before Paul was.  He was having too much fun at the Tractor Supply store buying bird feeders and food for his yard, and picking out things to spoil my cats.  He got Taffy and Molly each a cat collar and picked out color's that he thought would best match there fur.  They have a little bell on them and he got them a bag of mice.  We ended the day with a trip to the grocery store so I could get food to make my dishes for tomorrow's Thanksgiving with my family.  When we got back, I put the cat collar's on the cat and they did not know what to think of that.  They were trying to figure out where the bell sound was coming from and why every time they moved it was ringing.  Taffy has adjusted to it fairly well, but Molly is really mad about it.  She is finally taking a nap right now.  Probably wore herself out....hee hee.  They look really cute in them and I will try and get a nice picture to show you.  They love the new mice as they have some sort of beans that rattle in them and they have never had that kind before.  Taffy was hopping around with a white one in her mouth like she had caught the prize trophy!  I hope that Molly gets use to her collar.  When I was resting she jumped up on the bed and was under the cover growling she was so mad.  She is making it perfectly clear to me that she is really miffed about it all.  If she really hates it, I will take it off, but first want to give it a try for awhile and see if she will adjust to it.  Well, I need to get out to the kitchen and do some cooking.  Have a great night!  Me

Christmas Card

Hello!  Well...I escaped Dodge today and it sure felt good!  Susie invited me to come along with her to the Rapids today.  I got my outfit for the wedding and it is very nice.  I like it a lot.  They were running some very good sales at Younkers.  The jacket and shell were 50% off, the pants $10.00 off plus Susie gave me a $50.00 coupon so I got a good deal on a Laura Ashley outfit!  It is very dressy but yet I will be able to wear it again.  So I am very happy to have that done.  While Susie was picking out clothing for her Grandkids for Christmas, I checked Penney's out and then the thrift shop.  I found my Christmas sweater for Angela's Ugliest Christmas Sweater contest that we are having at our annual cookie bake next month.  It's a doozy!  LOL  When we were trying to leave Younker's we kept setting off the alarms.  The gal that had checked us out got all the ink tags off but they now have alarms hidden in some of the clothing too.  So we had to fiddle around checking bags through the door before we could finally get out of the store.  Susie had told our clerk that she was the "VP's" mother while we were checking out, which the clerk thought was pretty funny after she figured out it wasn't true.  So we had fun running with that one for awhile.  Then we had lunch at Hong Kong Buffet, made a stop at the Light House, and you would be very proud of me....I did not buy one thing there, but Susie made up for it.....lol.  Then we were off to Walmart and I bought 4 Christmas gifts, the ingredients for the desserts I am making for when we go to Paul's Thanksgiving, the ingredients for the cookie bake, plus some other groceries so felt that I got a lot accomplished today.  Of course when I got home, I had phone calls to return, dishes to do, cat box to clean, laundry to fold, and traced out some towels to stitch.  I am wiped now and am headed to bed!   Have a good one.  Me
