Sympathy

Good Evening!  Today I napped when Sarah napped, as my back is acting up, and it seemed to really help.  It was a quiet day, Zach was working and he took Hunter with him.  Sarah and I tried our first outing today.  She got her hair washed at the beauty salon.  It has been 7 days since she has showered and her hair was driving her nuts, even with using the dry shampoo which helped alot.  Her hairstylist came in on her day off with her two little boys which I entertained while Amanda washed Sarah's hair.  Fortunately the kids Dad arrived and took care of the one year old as he was toddling all over the place getting into things.  It was nice that the salon allowed us to come in while it was closed.  It is such a project to do anything, you wouldn't believe it unless you would see what we go through, because at the moment, the right lower leg is pretty useless, so Sarah's whole body has to compensate for it, and it is very tiring for her.  It is good that I have the van, as we have her sit on the edge of the middle set of seats which is like a bench.  I take her crutches, get them put in, then slowly lift her leg up and then she lifts her self with her arms, and scootches with her good leg across the seat so that her back is against the other door with the broken leg on the seat, then I carefully lift up her leg again while trying to get a rag quilt under it to get it elevated and straight.  Four times we have to go through this process before we do it again to get her back in bed.  But she is such a trooper and does it with a smile most of the time, but it is very painful for her.  After a dose of pain medicine, and some food, she was ready for a nap.  Gotta go for today.  Me

It's a great day, in the neighboorhood!

Happy Weekend!  Other than it being way too cold, it is a great day in Mayberry.  And yes, I am writing in the middle of the night.  But I have already had almost 4 hours of good sleep in which is great for me!  I fell asleep watching Dr. Oz.  I highly recommend this program.  I stumbled across it about a month a go (when I was in a flair up) and have been recording it ever since.  He talks about different health issues every day and it is very educational and he makes it so interesting.  Pretty soon I will be hanging out my MD shingle along with my free counseling shingle.  I have several of my friends tease me that they come to me for their therapy sessions, or to get their "Elaine fix".  LOL  Actually, I do more "listening" than counseling.

I ran a bunch of errands yesterday and hit the jackpot at Practical Cents as the whole store was half price!  Now....I know you are dying to know what treasures I found.  But, Miss Dilworth has told me that if she sees a long post here, she will know that I wrote about all my treasures, and she will know not to read it.  LOL  So....if you want to know what I bought...call her at 608-339-8264.  If enough people call and bug her, then maybe next time I will be able to tell you!  Hee...Hee

So finding all those goodies at half price, plus using the $5.00 off, filled punch card, bring my total down even further, to a mere $16.00 for 3 filled trash bags....made me really do the happy dance!  Then on top of all this, I found out that I will be able to put my cards in a new bar/restaurant in Miladore soon!  The bar is open and the restaurant is in the process of being remodeled and will be opening soon.  This also may lead into having some of my other items that I make for sale in there too!  Now where the heck is Miladore you ask!?!?  It is a little town about half way between Stevens Point and Marshfield.  I will give you more information about it when the time comes.

Today's card turned out oh so pretty and I love the color combination.  The base of the card is kraft, then blush blossom, with a layer of designer paper in So saffron, and the flower's are stamped on Very Vanilla with the stamp set Close As A Memory.  This is a sympathy stamp set but just goes to show how versatile a stamp set can be when you take an image from one stamp set and mix it with a stamp from another set, a get well saying from the set Curvy Verses.  I made 2 of this card, one went out in the mail today, and the other one you will be able to see at Sandy's party.  Speaking of Sandy's party, I made the door prizes yesterday, and they turned out so stinkin' cute, that I am sure everyone will be fighting over them...hee hee!  But you will have to wait to see a picture of them till after the party.

I also had a surprise visit from Tammy Renner yesterday after she got off of work.  She had not been in the living room since I put my new retro kitchen table in there and thought it looked so cute in here.  Usually we end up talking by the back door when she stops.  Any whoo....she liked my stamping room and said "You've got your own little store in here" while scanning the room and grinning.  Yes I do....:-D  Have a great weekend, don't forget to call Di!  LOL

Close As A Memory, God's Blessing, Fine Lace, Fine Frames

Hello! Another busy day in Mayberry. Sandy Wellumson stopped over for awhile and so did Lady Di. Di and I were stamping. I decided to work on sympathy cards today as I needed a few to send and also need some for the flea market. I made 4 of each of these cards today. Close as a Memory is one of my very favorite stamp sets as Di will tell you. I love it. Just love those flower's in it and every time you swap out the color's, your cards looks very different. I also made the Pumpkin Pie cards with God' Blessing and the Fine Frames as this is a popular card that goes well. I think it is because the wide twill tape looks like a book mark in a bible, or perhaps it is the saying, I am not sure, but people like that one. Any hoo...it was a productive day and I need to drop some stuff down to the flea market before it get's dark and my mom sig's the sheriff on me! LOL Stop down to see me and have a Happy 4th! Boo

February Stamp Camp

I had Stamp Camps on Monday and Tuesday and here are some pictures of the projects we made. Tammy earned a gift certificate for $10.00 for introducing Angela July and Danene Quigley to stamping. They have both attended parties and stamp camps and now are "hooked"!!! Welcome to our CULT!

Tammy is in the center of the picture holding the catalog and to the left is the "serious" buyer, also known as Lady Di, and to the right of Tammy is the chow hound.....also know as Sister Mary Beth or Beth Griffith.

If you didn't come to stamp camp this month, these are the cool projects that you missed! We also did the frog card that I sent earlier as a sneak peek.
