Scrap Happy!
Just finished scrapping these pages of Mason's baptism. I wish the pictures that Jenna ordered would get here. It is only one week till his birthday party. I have a few more pictures here and then I will be as far as I can go.
I went to Practical Cents today for Sarah. She is crafting again. I picked her up a bunch of silky type shirts. Last night she made a headband using parts of my wedding dress. She will be posting this on her blog soon. Watch the link on the side of my blog to see when she adds it to her blog. You can click the link for her blog from mine. I found some very pretty variegated baby yarn today. It has white, pink, blue, and yellow in it for colors. It should make up a very pretty baby set. I am thinking a sweater, hat, and bootie set. I am working on another little sweater for Mason. I almost have one side of it done. I work on it at the flea market and when I am watching TV. No rush as winter isn't here yet! I should have it done for the birthday celebration we are having in September for both Mom's and Mason's birthdays here in town.

A Labor of Love

Last week, I downloaded a whole bunch of scrapbook sketches and this is the sketch that I chose to follow for this layout. Isn't this picture just a stitch where it looks like he is winking?!?!? LOL Absolutely adorable and so perfect with that shirt!
I used a pink scalloped circle of SU paper as a template to draw my scalloped circle and then I cut it out. I traced a dinner plate to make the celery circle. The bracket was cut out with the Cricut cartridge Plantin' School book. I used a Chocolate Chip marker to do the hand stitching. The letters were cut out with the Big Shot and the Naturally Serif die. One of my favorites. They are a nice small size and I reach for that die a lot!
The center circle was punched with the 1 3/4" Circle punch, and the heart was punched out using the Heart to heart punch.
I am so very thankful to have air conditioning. This heat is something else! I plan on holing up in the Stamping Cave all week until the flea market next Saturday. I do have a few errands to run, and I will venture out to the mail box as I have a few goodies arriving in the mail this week, but other than that....home is where I plan to be! :-D
I plan on putting in a stamping order, and a Tastefully Simple order, so if you need some things, send me an email or give me a buzz!
Lots of fun things in the new catalog! And wait till you see the Holiday mini.....you are going to love it!!!
Stay cool! Elaine

Love My Onesies
I have been working away on Mason's scrapbook today and I quick took a picture of a couple of pages that I just finished. I have a whole table set up in my stamping room so that I can leave the Cricut set up and to have room to spread out. That way, if I want to work on a different project on my stamping desk I can. When you scrapbook, you really need to have a large table to work on. I moved this layout over to my stamping desk to photograph it as I have a light mounted under the hutch of my desk and it works great for taking pictures at night. So disregard the mess! LOL
I used the Plantin School book cartridge for the letters and the New Arrival cartridge to cut out the onesies. I dug in my designer paper scraps drawer and picked out a bunch of papers to cut out onesies with. I also have a bunch cut in other colors so you will probably be seeing some more pages with them on in the future. Jenna always has a onesie on Mason, day and night. It is rare if he doesn't have one on.
I talked to Jenna and Mason today and Mason kept answering my questions with YEAH. It is his favorite word to say. Jen said Mason was so happy to talk to me. He was all smiles and he was sitting on the floor in his room spinning around in circles! LOL I can just see him doing that. I sure love that little guy! Elaine

Sweet Dreams Mason...
I just finished this scrapbook page of Mason for the wood stand in my craft room. Susie Smith's husband Wayne, makes these and sells them. I have the 6" x 6" page size, and he also makes a 12" x 12" page size.
Jenna and Mason left last night for home. They were here from Monday till Wednesday. The house seems really quiet today with out them, but this Grammie took advantage of that and got a lot of much needed rest! But never the less, I miss them. Especially since I spent all last week with them. Little Mason will hold out his arms for me now. We have really bonded. It melts this Grammies heart!
I had this page done in about 15 minutes because I had the pendant colored, and cut already. Remember my dollar digi post!?!? This is the same little pendant.
This picture is So.. Mason. He is always in these very relaxed, kind of slouched positions. And he is such a little cuddler. I love it.
Here is the recipe: Digital Image from Stretch N' Bubbles, Stamped images are from Fiskar's Sweet baby Sentiments.

Eat Chocolate Scrap book page
One of the activities at the Jefferson swap was to make a 6" x 6" recipe page of the dish that you were bringing to pass. I decided that I was going to bring my Peanut Butter Brownies. They are always a big hit! And they have chocolate chips in them, so I thought it would be perfect to use my new stamp set from Colleen, Eat Chocolate! I love, love, this stamp set and I have tons of ideas of ways to use this set for gifts of chocolate!
Lady Di and I had a fun time at the swap yesterday, and I have lots of fun things to show my stamping group this month. We had some not so hot roads on the way home, but Di carefully guided us home.
Today I feel like I really got a lot accomplished, even though I got tuckered out and took a 3 hour nap!!! I got 4 birthday cards done, one of them will be for Don Hollman's 88th birthday, 2 of them I am sending out to my Stamping Up! Tag You're It group, and the other one I will save and show to my stamping group, then put it in the sell box. I also got my second project all cut and packaged for March's stamping groups. It uses the new stamp set Bring on the cake, that it is in the new Occasion mini. Such a cute set. I love it!
I cooked eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon this morning, did dishes, cleaned the cat box, and took trash to the road.
I just finished making 6 sympathy cards. I have 3 people that I need to send cards too, and I made a few extra while I was at it so that I will have some. That is one thing I go through way to many of, unfortunately.
I made real headway on my "to do" list and I am very happy about that. My goal is to get it all done so I can go see Baby cakes later this week!!! Have a happy Monday!!! Elaine

Grammys lil pumpkin scrapbook page
Good Afternoon! I just finished doing this scrapbook page of Mason in his little pumpkin suit. I really like how it turned out. I did a 12" x 12" page of Ben and Brooke cut out like this in silhouette hunting for Easter egg's and it tends to be a favorite of everyone that looks at the scrapbook. My goal is to do one 6" x 6" page per month for Mason, and this will be his book. Hopefully Grammy's love for him will show through the pages! I made the little pumpkin with 3 one inch circles that I punched out with the one inch circle punch. I did a little sponging and cut out a little stem. The grass and ground are both free hand cut. The lettering I cut out with the Big Shot and Natural Serif die. I love that die, it is perfect size for scrapbooking and card making, and a classic style of lettering that will never go out of style.

Good Evening, or should I say Good Middle of the Night. I just finished recovering my beautiful daily planner that I bought in Milwaukee that had the ugly cover on it. I have never seen such a thing where the company uses the back and front cover to advertise their product and you are suppose to look at that for the next year and a half while you are using the planner! I was so disgusted about it that I almost did not buy the planner. But I love how it is set up on the inside, so I bought it, knowing that I could doll it up. I do love my planner and use it every day, I write all sorts of stuff in it, and it sure beats having tons of pieces of paper lying around! I can just grab it and go and have all my important information in there. I used all Stampin' UP! from the Play Date Line on this project. I love this line. The colors are beautiful in it and mix and match so well. It is easy to throw a project together. No guess work because it all matches. The only things I added were a couple of buttons, and I took a sponge dauber to the words, task, idea, and notes to give them some definition and soften them up a bit. I will explain more why I design the cover the way I did and why it appeals to the eye, at our next class. I bought the Play Date items online in the digital format, and printed them off at home. You do not have to own my digital studio to use our digital line. They keep adding more and more things for sale in digital. Digital scrap booking is a big thing! If I decided that I needed another element or another sheet of paper while working on this project, I just hopped on over to the computer and printed it out. How cool is that! Wait till you see this in real life, you won't believe it that this not "real" pattern paper. I printed it off on Whisper White Card Stock. Our Whisper White works so well for printing off digital images, papers, and brushes. And it runs through the printer with easy, no chance of jamming it up. So if you love this and want to make a project with it, go to http://love2stampsewmuch.stampinup.net and push shop now and it will take you to the ordering section. You can look at the digital images there or order them right out of the catalog like you normally do and they will ship them directly to your home. When you order them digitally, once you have completed your order and paid, you can down load them immediately. The nice thing about digital is that you can resize them to any size you want, and you can print them to your hearts content (the prices on digital are WAY cheaper too, less than half most of the time and you will never "run out" of them. But if you aren't brave enough to try that yet, let me tell you where they are in the catalog. Page 176, Play Date Quick Elements, 117172 $8.95; Play Date Designer Series Paper 117168 $9.95; Play Date rub-ons 118760 $7.95. I am sure you are going to be seeing a lot more of this line in future projects. I am thinking of all kinds of ideas. Would you be interested in doing a notebook project? This would make a cute one. I think I will make one up for Diana. She turns 13 tomorrow. She will officially be a "teenager"! And if I can find some RSVP pens, I will make her a bunch to match her notebook. Hmm..maybe that will be tomorrow's project. Nighty-Nite! Elaine |

Baby Cakes Scrapbook Page
What a great day! One of my favorites.....staying in my PJ's all day, and munching on peanut butter Halloween kisses, with the sun shining in my windows, while making my first scrapbook page of my grand son, Mason.
I am going to offer a scrapbook class on Saturday, October 2nd at 1pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church on how to make a scrapbook page like this. Everyone has some little cutie pie like this to show off, it could be a current picture or one from the past. These would make a great gift for someone. It could be put in a 6" x 6" album, or put on a larger sheet of card stock and framed. Adding magnets on the back would be another cute option so that it could be hung on the frig or at the office. I also have these wood scrapbook stands available for sale for $10.00. Susie's husband, Wayne Smith makes them. If you are interested in signing up for this class, the cost is $5.00 or free with an order of $25.00 of merchandise or more. Email me at quilter16@frontier.com (Please put Scrapbook Class in the subject line) or stop down at the flea market to sign up and pick up a stand. They are so stink'in cute! I love them.
I had a wonderful time at Quilt Expo. It was a really fun day, and I got some new goodies. Quilter's heaven, that is for sure. Make it a great weekend! Hugs! Elaine

The First Library in Adams, Scrapbook page

Tonight I baked up some fish that my neighbor across the street gave me, carrots, and a baked potato. Yep...that is right, I actually ate a healthy meal! LOL Then I just stirred up Chocolate Chip Bars....hee hee. I just can't ruin my reputation. :-D Actually I feel like Susie homemaker tonight....am I ok!?!?!?! I must be getting sick. Hee hee.
Well, I think I will take a break and go read the 2 months worth of the Adams Blab, (the newspaper) that I am behind on reading. Have a great night! Boo

A Few of My Favorite Things

In February I taught the scrapbook class how to make these scrapbook pages. I have loved the song from Sound of Music, These are a Few of My Favorite Things, since I was a little girl. In fact, when Jenna was little my mom got the two of us a music box that plays that song which I still have. It is a basket with 2 stuffed kittens in it that move there heads along with the music. It is adorable. So I decided that it would be fun to do some scrap book pages with this theme. I went around the house and took pictures of things that I love to do. Some of these pictures are just symbolic. Like I love to read, so shot a picture of a book. That I love Red, White & Blue/&/or Americana stuff, love chocolate and collect chocolate items, love to quilt, love to talk on the phone, love music, and love to be on the computer. You get the drift!

You R My Sunshine Scrapbook Page

This is the scrapbook page we made at stamp camp this month. I just love it. I think it turned out adorable. I sang "You are my sunshine" to my girls when they were babies. This is a picture of my oldest daughter Jenna when she was a baby. She always had this contagious smile on her face! Still does!
I went to the doctor today as I have been sick on and off for about 2 months. I did not see my regular doctor as he was off today but Sam, the PA I saw, is under my regular doctor, Dr. Bjelland. Sam thinks most of what I am going through is allergy related but did put me on Amoxicillon as he thinks there could be some bacteria because it has gone on so long. I have been sick at least 3 other times this year too and never went in. So I am taking 5 things at the moment, besides my regular meds. The antibotic, nasonex, claritin, musinex, and saline nose solution. Hopefully that will clear things up. I am tired of being sick!!!! Boo

September Scrapbooking Class

Last night was my September Scrap booking Class. We had a fun time as usual. The gals enjoyed playing with the new Big Shot. They cut the title's for there pages with it. We talked about sketches. What a sketch is, how to follow one, making your own file box of sketches, creating your own, etc. I also showed them how to make a chrysanthemum using punches.
I just put a batch of beer bread in the oven and made onion onion dip for tomorrow. Stop down and see me! Boo

August Scrapbook Class

These are the scrapbook pages and mini scrapbook that we made at August's Scrapbook Class. The mini scrapbook uses the stamp set Always and has 4 clear envelopes that you use to hold 8 photo's or 8 - 4x6 scrapbook pages. We used Big Deal Alphabet and Crab & Co to stamp the scrap book pages. We had a lot of beginner scrap bookers at this class so I taught a pretty basic page to start with and how to use a stamp set to make your own pattern paper. They also learned how to use a paper cutter, how to mat and crop photo's and how to make the most mat's out of a 12 x 12 sheet. They loved using the new scallop border punch to make the border on the mini album. We had a great time at all the classes and it was fun having new people join us. Having all the extra space at the church is wonderful!

Mini Scrap book

I also finished a mini scrap book today that I will have on display at the flea market. I make these little books (empty of pictures) with my bind it all to sell at the flea market. Lady Di has been after me to make up a sample for down there and I finally did today. I should have done it way before now....but it doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day most of the time! I also went to the bank and Practical Cents late this afternoon. At that point, I almost had this book done and I was trying to decide what I was going to put on the cover. I found this "bling" at Practical Cents. It is not my usual style but I thought it was kind of cute and that I could make it into a neat cover. I decided to mount it on Apricot Appeal card stock so that it would show up better. I had the tag, ribbon and button. Tell me what you think of the album. You can always leave comments on here and they get emailed directly to me, or better yet....stop down and see it in person and tell me! But I do love when I get comments on the blog!
I also found a bolt of tulle that we might use for the wedding or shower, plus a bunch of ribbon that I will be able to use on the cards that I sell. I hope tomorrow is as productive as today! Make it a good one! Boo

Lovely As A Tree & Enjoy Life Scrapbook Page

On Monday night I did a stamping party at Sandy Wellmususon's home. We had a great time as usual. Here are the two projects we did. Every one just roared when they saw the scrapbook page with Lady Di and her grass hair! She is such a good sport....she didn't even get mad at me! I thought that picture was perfect with the saying Enjoy Every Moment. Diane sure does! Love ya buddy! Boo
