Coloring day

Stamp Set : Party Hearty

Bird is from Stamp set: Friends 24/7

Hello!  Yesterday I posted information about sending cards and packages to the troops.  I heard from Lynnette this morning, and this is what she had to say:
If anyone wants to send a surprise in the mail to any of the soldiers, Meghan said they would love to receive used paperback books, used magazines, word search, crossword puzzles, and ... apparently Turkey Jerky is high on the wish list! Thanks Thanks Thanks!!!  I plan on sending out a box to Meghan next week.  This is such a good way to support our troops, to show them we appreciate them and to let them know we are thinking about them.  Lynnette also sent a second message that I felt I should share with you:  Just looked at your blog! Thanks again!!! Meghan is a crafter so I know she will be delighted to see any creative cards that might arrive for her platoon!!!!

Friends 24-7

More rain today has made my road impassable even though they smoothed it out this morning before they left town. My neighbor brought my mail to me late this afternoon. She has a four wheel drive jeep, and told me that I'd better not take the van out on it. Guess I should have moved the van over to the parking lot next door. Oh well, didn't have plans to go out anyways. I have not heard ANY vehicle's traveling on it today...so it must be bad.

I finished the yo-yo quilt in the early am this morning. I was on the phone till midnight and was working on it while talking. I thought....and the key word here is "thought", that I only had an hour or so more to do on it and I would be done so I thought that I would just stay up and finish it. Well...I didn't get done with it till 3:30 am! But yeah!!! It is done. It was about 5 am before I went to sleep.... I shouldn't have done that, I know better, but fortunately the phone was quiet this morning and I could sleep in.
I got a thank you card from Jenna today, it is funny when you get one of your own cards back in the mail! But she wrote a very nice note on it thanking me for my work on the shower and wedding, etc.

Door prizes and Hostess Gifts

I made this towel and tag as a thank you for Sandy for having her party. The tag uses the stamp set Friends 24-7. I appliqued the towel.
These are the little cups that I filled and decorated for door prizes. They have chipboard, ribbon, buttons and a peanut butter bon bon in them. The trick or treat stamp is from the level one hostess set, Holiday Best. I love it! I found the cute little orange cups a couple of months ago over at Reedsburg when I was visiting Sarah one day. I usually forget to take pictures of my Hostess gifts and Door Prizes. Aren't you proud of me that I remembered!!!!! I finished my projects for next month's stamp camp today and I am so happy about that as it was one of my goals for the week. Tomorrow I need to design some sample wedding invitations for Jenna and I need to get the inserts printed for the bridal shower invitations. Never a dull moment around here!

I thought I would give you an update on my road. They tore it all up on Monday but have not been back since to work on it. I see they are working on the street on the other side of town. It is extremely quiet because few cars are traveling on it. I feel like I am living out in the country right now! LOL I am glad that I don't live far down the street though as I can only go 5 mph as it is so rough.

Just Buzzin By and Friends 24/7

Good Evening! These are some cards that we made last month at Sandy Wellumsun's stamping party. They were a big hit, especially the little bee's. The gals loved them. I made up the extra packets I had cut and I have sold all of them. This afternoon, I was working on next month's stamp camp. I finished a couple of project's for it so I am happy about that. I went to Jessie's volley ball game tonight and that was fun to see. She had asked me on Sunday if I was coming and I told her that I would try to. Can't let my girl down and I was glad to be able to spend that hour there tonight. When my girls were in high school, I had some rough years health wise and my back was really bad. When I bought my ticket tonight for the game, I asked if I could bring a chair in because I couldn't sit on the bleachers and the gal said sure, that she wouldn't say anything about it. (It might have helped that I knew her.) As I was sitting there on my chair, before the game started....I was thinking about how far along I had come in accepting my illness and not worrying about what other's thought. I missed so many of the girls events because I was in such terrible pain and was too proud to ask if I could bring a chair in the gym or I was in too much pain to sit, period. I didn't want to embarrass them or myself by "doing such a thing". I was only 34 at the time, way too young to be disabled, and way too young to accept it. It was a hard process, and I am sure glad that I am at a point in my life that I don't care what people think! Make the most of your days....you never know what life has in store for you! Hugs! Boo
