Goofy Card

Here is a card that Susie brought for show and tell on Monday night.  Every one got a good laugh out of it.  I have seen it done before but have not made one.  I think I might now.  I like her choice of color's and if someone was not feeling good, this would sure cheer them up!
Today was a paperwork day and doing things on the computer. I did some revamping on my budget as I found out that my water bill will be going up a minimum of $22.00 a quarter so had to "up" what I save a month, AGAIN!  I just upped things in January and am already redoing it.  Things just keep going up and up.  I had stamping order's coming in and I did my entering on the computer.  I called Verizon today and have decided to switch everything to them.  I have my internet connection with them now, but will be switching my phone back to them, and switching to direct tv.  It will be about $5.00 less per month, but I will be gaining quite a bit.  I will keep my same phone number, unlimited long distance and other features, but shouldn't have all the problems I have had with Vonage as far as dropping calls.  I didn't really mind it too much when it was cheaper but they have been inching up the price.  I will have a little bit faster internet speed, but the main thing I will be gaining is with Direct TV.  Right now I have the family package and local channels on 2 tv's and DVR.  They will come in and install it all for free, DVR, and I can have 4 TV's hooked up, plus will have their choice package which is 150 channels.  I looked at the channels and I have not had a lot of them for years so will be fun to have those again.  They are coming next week to do this.  I also went to the bank and over to the church and organized little carrying buckets with tools for the tables at my parties.  I found them in the clearance section at Family Dollar for a dollar a piece and the color of them is Rich Razzleberry!  It should make set up ALOT faster for stamping and hopefully will help my stampers find things better too!

Pick a Petal

Good Evening! Today's card uses the stamp set Pick a Petal. I am going to keep this post short tonight as my poor wrist can hardly type! I bought a chrome leg table and 4 chairs today at the flea market that is really cool! I have been working at polishing up the chrome since I have been home from the flea market. I am drop dead tired and can hardly go! I worked on it for about 3 hours and it is good enough for now. Maybe I will work some more on it another day. It is in really good shape for as old as it is. I am guessing it is from the 50's but the color of red is really unusual and different than I have seen from the usual 50's stuff so I am thinking it may be from the 40's. I will have to do some research on that. The chairs are really cool. The back is curved for your back and is studded with tacks. That is what really makes the set and sets with the tacks are in high demand now. Breezy and Riley will soon be here to haul in the table. I am going to be selling my oak table and a couple of pressed back chairs. Anyone interested!?!?! Stop over and see my new beauty! I will shoot some pictures after it is all set up! Elaine

Nadine's Party

Last night was Nadine's party and we had a wonderful turnout. The pictures above this are of the hostess gift I made for Nadine. We were teasing her that these were pictures of her and John. These "old people" are available in the current mini catalog and are fun cards to make. I used the Good Morning Sunshine paper on them. The box for them was made with the scalloped envelope die and was decorated with the Tea Party paper.

We made these projects. The red, black, and white card uses the stamp sets, Pick A Petal, Polka Dot Backgrounds, and Upsey Daisy. The other card uses Playful Petals and the Tea Party Designer paper. A great time was had by all and we all enjoyed the fantastic food that Nadine had for us. I want that recipe for the M&M mix Nadine! The next party will be Monday, June 8th at 5:30pm for supper and Beth Griffith will be the hostess. Come and join us for a barrel of fun!

Pick a Petal #2 & Thank You Kindly

Good Evening! I spent a couple of hours at the flea market today but couldn't stand the cold and dampness so left around noon. I stopped to see Paula at Paula's Enchanted Cottage and then headed home to wash dishes, make lunch, and do email. I couldn't get warm so ended up under the cover's with my electric mattress pad on, watching TV and I took a very long nap. I am just getting up and getting going. I think I will make some pancakes and hit the stamping room. Sarah brought me a cool Mother's Day Gift today. I had been telling her that I had went to the fibromyalgia support group last month and they had a Master Gardener come and speak about container gardening. It was very interesting and I had told Sarah that I would like to plant some lettuce and a tomato plant. With all the other stuff going on...that thought had kind of been put on the back burner. Anyways, today she brought me a tomato plant that is all staked up and ready to grow. She said that it will have large round tomato's as she thought that is what I would like for making BLT's, and she was right about that. Sarah planted some pretty flowers in the front of the container. I can't remember what she told me the name of them were now but they are very pretty and pink. Any ways it was a thoughtful gift.

Jenna had left me a copy of Heart Healthy Living when she was home to read and told me that if I liked it, she would get me a subscription for Mother's Day. It is a very good magazine. I would recommend it if you like to read health magazines.

Today's card is made with the stamp set Pick a Petal and the set Thank You Kindly. It is a pretty color combination of Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, and a touch of Rose Red. A quick, simple card to make, but cute. Have a wonderful Mother's Day! Elaine

Pick a Petal #1

Good Morning...or Good Evening Morning....LOL I am not sure what the correct greeting is when you are posting in the middle of the night! Dear little Molly touched me ever so gently on the face and said "Pet me mama". How can you be mad at your baby when she touches you like that!

I should take some pictures of the cats again so that you can see them. Usually it is Taffy waking me up in the middle of the night with her climbing antics. She has decided that her favorite past time in the middle of the night is to hop up on the window sill, then to a wall a shelf, up on top of the TV on the dresser in my bedroom, then get up on top of the window valance and precariously try and walk on it, which in turn rattles the plates hanging on the wall above the valance! By this time, she has me awake, and telling her to get down! She is a little dickens....that is for sure! She just staggered out right now and looked at me like what are you doing up!?! Payback....tee heee. Any whooo...now that it officially the "next" day...I can post another card! Today's sample is using the stamp set Pick a Petal. I really love all the things you can do with this set. You will see some more samples of this one coming up! Make it a great day! Boo

Bee Card

This is another sample I made using the Garden Whimsy stamp set. I used the butterfly antenna's for the bee's antenna's. The bugs on the bottom of the card and the circle verse are from Garden Whimsy and the petal's were stamped with Pick a Petal.

Pick A Petal 2

Hello! I promised you another card with Pick A Petal and here it is! Diane told me this weekend that she thought this card looked like you were looking through a window. I hadn't thought of that but I guess it does. I had another busy day today. I ran some errands and some more fixtures from the house got moved to the flea market. I am trying to clean up the after math of the tornado that looks like has hit inside my house. It is getting empty around here except for all of the stuff that I had to move off the fixtures so that they could be taken. But with all the comes some cleaning and organizing so that is a good thing. I am totally rearranging things and I will take some pictures when I get it all done. First I have to figure out what I want to do! The saga continues......Boo

PIck A Petal

Good Afternoon! I am home early today as we got rained out at the flea market so I got home around 2 o'clock. Now the sun is shining again but it rained enough to get the vendor's to pack up and leave. Only a few were left when Diane and I left. Speaking of Diane....she made the best roll ups today with our Howlin' Horseradish Dip mix. They had tortilla shells, roast beef or ham (she made 2 different ones) and cheese. Absolutely yummy. She is such a good cook. I gave samples of Nana's apple cake today and everyone loved that. Today's card is with Pick A Petal. This stamp set has so many possibilities! I will be posting another card tomorrow using the same set but it will amaze you how different the other card looks!
