Sympathy Music Card

Stamp Set: Thoughts and Prayers, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Big Shot, Baker's Twine, Scalloped Edge Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Old Music Paper, Card Stock, Soft Suede, Creamy Carmel, Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Chocolate Chip Ink, Rhinestone Brad, Vintage Wall Paper Embossing Folder.  I did some sponging with Soft Suede ink, and also colored the Rhinestone with a Baroque Burgundy Marker so that it wasn't so shiny.  It worked like a charm!
Another day in paradise.  I do enjoy being home, but really miss the kids.  Both sets!  I called to wish Sarah a Happy Birthday today.  It is her 23rd birthday today.  We only talked about ten minutes as she was exhausted from the wedding.  They left the house at 8am and didn't get home till 1am.  She said that she had so much fun!  Zach mentioned on facebook that it was funny to watch her trying to dance on her crutches.  I would have liked to seen that!  They didn't go to the gift opening today as Zach needed to study and Sarah was worn out.
My niece Brooke called today.  She is 9 and is so darn cute.  She says the funniest things.  She told me that she had heard about me hurting my leg and that she called "to cheer me up"!  I got a kick out of that.  We talked about everything under the sun...until she ran out of topics, and I couldn't think of any thing more to ask her so finally after an hour and fifteen minutes, she decided that it was okay to hang up!  She is definitely like her "Aunt Elaine" in the talking department, her mother is very quiet.  It would be a rare occasion to spend an hour on the phone with my sister.
The cats are still driving me crazy.  I have been home for six days and they STILL can't get enough of me.  They need to get all their petting in!

In between phone calls today, I have been crocheting.  I have made 2 shrugs for swiffers.  I will shoot some pictures to show you.  Hope you had a great Sunday!  Elaine

Many things to be thankful for!

I have a couple more cards yet and I will be done showing you the ones from Year of Cards.  This one uses the background stamp Bella Toile which I have and love!  The twill is stamped with Thoughts and Prayers, another favorite of mine and the verse is from Wellness Wishes.  We used watercolor crayons to color the stamp with, then misted it with some water and stamped on the twill.  It gives it a cool water color effect and I had not done this kind of stamping on twill before.  I plan on bringing these cards for Show and Tell at Nadine's party on the 21st so you will get to see them in real life.  Only 5 more "sleeps" and demonstrators will be able to preorder certain items from the new catty.  Catalog changes are always so exciting for us.  I can't wait.  I seem to have a second sense at times when Stampin' UP! gets the website loaded with new things for us to see as I tend to wake up in the middle of the night, at the exact time it comes online.  My down line gets a kick out of this as I email them with news in the middle of the night, and they call me in the morning after they get my email!
Today I had another doctor's appointment in Mauston, plus they scheduled two more today.  I was teasing the receptionists that I was just going to bring a cot along with me and stay.  LOL  They thought that was pretty funny.  Kim rode along with me today, and she wanted to stop at Festival Foods to get a few things.  We had lunch at Subway.  I used my gift card that I got from Mom and Dad for Christmas again today.  Thanks for lunch MOM!  We stopped at Practical Cents when we got back to town and I found some pretty pink felt, brown and turquoise crochet cotton that I will use for running through buttons.  I was especially thrilled to find the turquoise today as I need that to tie Mason's baby quilt.  Once again, I found exactly what I needed at the thrift store, which I know is not a coincidence!  :-D  God is so good!  After I got home I headed to the bed with the phone and laptop and returned some phone calls.  Sandy Wellumson stopped over to pick up her stamping order and guess what she brought me!?!?!?  Fresh picked asparagus!  I made creamed asparagus over toast and it was so yummy!  Thank you so much Sandy!  It was a wonderful treat!! Beth was over to tonight and picked her order up and a few to deliver and we had such a nice visit as usual.  We have decided that we are going to start a book club, and read and discuss inspirational books.  Not any particular religion or necessarily religious books, just positive uplifting books and none that are fiction.  We both feel that there is too much negativism in the world.  Too many people hold on to grudges, are bitter, and are not living "in joy" like they could be.  We both really want to become better people and have had many discussions about how to do that, books we have read, etc.  It may just be her and I to begin with but if anyone wants to join us you are more than welcome to.  Just let me know.  Make it a great day!  Elaine

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day today!  I had a wonderful time at the July's today.  Ton's of wonderful food and lot's of laughter.  We played Apples to Apples and that was a lot of fun.  There children are Alex 17, Steven 6, and Sophie who is 5.  I fell in love with the kids and them with me.  When we were playing the game, I touched Sophie's hair and she turned to me and looked at me with those big brown eye's and said to me "I wish I had hair like you.  I would like my hair to be just like yours.  I want to be your twin!"  I thought that was just the sweetest thing.  I took my Magic Story Tree Book with me that I received when I was 5 from my Aunt and Uncle and read them 3 stories out of it and they just loved it.  Steven is just a little riot.  He is giggling all the time.  He thinks every thing is just a stitch.  And Alex is so nice and polite, not your typical teenager at all.  Any who, it was a very fun day...but I need to scoot to bed right now as Paul and I are headed to Tomah tomorrow.  I am very blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life and I thank you for spending time with me here each day reading my blog!  Thank you for blessing my life!  Hugs!  Elaine

Thoughts and Prayers

Hello!  This card was made with the stamp set "Thoughts and Prayers".  I used Dusty Durango and Soft Suede markers to ink up the tree before I stamped it and stamped the greeting with Soft Suede ink.  The flower is a scrap I punched with the Trio Punch.  It is my most used punch as I can punch out the tiniest of scraps with it.  You should see the drawer full that I have of them!  I used a silver brad as a center for the flower and popped it up with a dimensional.  A small strip of  Dusty Durango is under the tree and a portion of a piece that I cut out with the Top note die is attached under that.  A very nice card for this time of year!

A Hunting We Will Go....

Hello!  I had to get up early today to pick up my Share box at the Community Center.  They set a record this month with over $3000.00 worth of food order's.  This is about double of what they normally do in a month.  I am guessing that people are sharing how they save money in these hard economic times.  Google  WI Share for more information about this program.  When I got back from picking that up, I had an email from Sarah titled "Good News".  Zach got an 8 point buck first thing this morning, so they are happy camper's and she said everyone would have beef jerky!  I finished getting things ready for today's stationary class, laid down for a bit and fell asleep which I had not intended on doing.  Fortunately the noon whistle woke me up otherwise I probably would have been asleep still when my class started at one!  The gals loved making the stationary box and most of them were heading home to make more of them right away while it was still fresh in there minds.  I got home around 3:30 and then put in my stamping order, did a few things and then decided that I would watch a little TV.  Well, I finished one movie and then fell asleep shortly after starting to watch the second one.  Guess it was a napper day...and doing classes really wears me out.  Tonight I finished the last project for December stamp camp and then made up a couple of sample cards.  I am getting sleepy so will be heading to bed.  I hope all your hunter's are catching the "big one", and that the stamper's are stamping away while they are gone!  Bring your stuff to camp for "show and tell".  We all love seeing what you are making!

Thoughts & Prayers

Another busy day. Debby Bjorseth, from IL, is up and we went shopping today. We started out at the scrap book store in Coloma as I need to deliver a stamping order there. Then we headed to Plover and had lunch at the Golden Corral. We were then off to Michael's, Walmart, and then back to Michael's. I found out while I was in Michael's that they have a larger Michael's in Wausau and that Joanne's is near it. So off we went to Michael's and Joanne's in Wausau. I did not know that all those stores were all grouped together at Rib Mountain and really liked that. Lots of my favorite stores all in one area! It will be much nicer to go there than to Madison. We stopped at Country Kettle in Hancock for dinner and they had a deal where you could get both hamburger's and ff for a dollar each! We had grilled onion's, cheese, and pickles added on. And it was fantastic. Where can you eat for less than $3.00 and have such great food!?!?! No where that I know of. We will definitely be heading back there. A fun day but boy am I tired and hurting. It will be good to be able to rest up the next two days! Here is the recipe for today's card:
Stamp set: SU Thoughts and Prayers, Card stock: Riding hood Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, Ink: Kiwi Kiss, & Chocolate Chip

Thoughts & Prayers

Tonight is Danene's stamping party and I am really looking forward to it. I have some beautiful projects cooked up for it which you will have to wait to see. But in the mean time, I thought I would show you a couple of cards that I made at Susie's and that I will be showing to the gals tonight. These are made with the new stamp set that Susie bought called Thought & Prayers. It is a really beautiful stamp set. My scans don't do it justice that is for sure. I think it is because the color's on the tree and branch are light. Have a great day! Boo
