Merry Christmas Dasher Card

Hello!  Another busy day in Mayberry.  We had our sweatshirt jacket class at the church and that was a lot of fun.  We got the back section of our jackets pieced and we will finish the rest of the jacket at home on our own.  They all look so different and they are really pretty.  I got home around 3 and was zapped out, so I took a nap and ended up sleeping till 5:30.  It was a good nap!
This is a card that I made for a sample this month with the stamp set Dasher, and All Holidays.  I used the Deck the Halls designer series paper.  The scallop was made with the Big Shot and the scallop circle #2 die, and I cut the circle with the Circle Scissors plus.  The verse is matted on the wide oval punch and scalloped oval punch.  The snowflakes were made with the snowflake punch.  A fun festive card!

Happy Father's Day Tags

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there!  I made up these 2 Father's Day tags to put on my Father's Day gifts to my Dad and Breezy.  The Just for you is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Happy Father's Day is from the stamp set All Holidays.  I had a bunch of stars already punched with the small star punch in my drawers of punched out object so snagged them out of there.  I cut the tags out of some recycled notepad backs with the Big Shot and then cut 2 more for each of the tags out of DSP so the fronts and backs are covered.  They look like expensive embellishments that you would buy from a scrapbook store.  I just love playing with the Big Shot.  It saves me so much money.  I made 9 more other tags tonight after I got these done.
It was a beautiful day at the flea market today inside my stall.  Perfect temperature.  It was a bit too windy though, my Tastefully Simple sign blew down and my basket rack outside.  Val (my next door neighbor) and I moved it down lower.  I did a big revamp today of the stall in between customers and I really like how it turned out.  Much lighter and brighter in there.  And I got a cat towel stitched but not much else as it was pretty busy.  I was ready for a snooze when I got home and so were Molly and Taffy.  But then again, they are ALWAYS ready for a snooze!  LOL  They love nothing better than to cuddle with me in bed.  For those of you following the adventures of Molly and Taffy......the latest antics are that I keep finding large buttons over by the entertainment stand.  And I know exactly who is the culprit of that one....Taffy.  She thoroughly enjoys taking things off the stamping desk, or snatching ribbon and running off with it.  She thinks she is so smart...and she is right about that!  Brooke is coming to see me tomorrow, and tomorrow will be the big day that she will get her special present from me!  I will fill you in on that tomorrow, and maybe take a picture or two of the cutie pie!   Two more days till our stamping event at the church.  If you haven't signed up....call me!  Have a Happy Father's Day!  Elaine

Oh what a hot one!

Man, it was a scorcher today!  Fortunately I sit inside the stall so am not in the direct sun.  But even so, by 1 today the air was pretty dense.  Now and then we would get a little breeze and that felt so good!  Isabelle was down to see me today and she about turned inside out, she was so happy to see me.  I got the longest hugs from her today, two in fact, it was my lucky day!  I worked on stitching snowman towels today in between customers.  I prepped 8 of them last night before I went to bed, besides baking muffins, making Suddenly Salad, and I baked the shower cake and stuck it in the freezer.  I even ironed my clothes for the weekend.  I can't believe how organized I was.  I wish I was that way all the time, and had the zip to do it!
I got a little cat nap in before Di called and woke me up.  We chit chatted awhile, and then I started working on Father's Day cards.  I had someone ask for one today and I didn't have any.  I made 2 of this one, and 2 of another design that I will show you tomorrow.  Well...I'd better hit the hay.  Tomorrow is suppose to be another hot one!  Elaine

Happy Valentines Day!

Hi!  I am sending this card to all of you, my loyal readers, who I so appreciate!  I hope that you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  I spent the day at home, answering the phone with all the Happy Birthday wishes from every one, reading and answering face book well wishes, and working on some projects.  I altered 3 cans today, and cut and sewed 9 pin cushions.  I still have some finishing work to do on them.  I set up a display in my living room of craft items so that any one that wants to stop in and purchase items can.  I have lot's of nice little gifts here.  I also did some cleaning and putting stuff away both upstairs and downstairs.  I did take a break for a few hours and laid on the bed with my box of scraps and punches and worked on punching up some scraps.  It is and endless project working on that, as I make more just as soon as I get some done.  But right now the box is going down and I am getting ahead of the game!  My tylenol pm is kicking in so I am off to laa laa land!  Happy Valentines Day!  Hugs!  Elaine

Hugs & Kisses

Good Afternoon!  If you were at Doris's party, you probably recognized the scalloped piece of this card which is one of the new "hugs" you can buy from the Occasion's mini.  They come 20 to a package and are $4.95.  You can also purchase glassine envelope's to match.  I had decorated a few to show the gals and this is one of them.  I decided to show how they can be used on a card.  This was a very quick card to assemble as I had the majority of the work done!  I just added the stamped heart from the stamp set Best Wishes & more and popped that up on a dimensional to give the card some depth.  I recently acquired this stamp set in a trade I made.  I have wanted this set for a long time.  I love the curved verses in it and the fact that it cover's so many different occasions.  And the really cool thing about it is that the embellishments like this stamped heart will fit inside the scalloped circle!  Woo HOO! You will be seeing that sometime in the future!
I have been doing the dreaded "C" word this afternoon.  Cleaning!!!  I have to do that occasionally so that I can do the "S" words....stamp and sew!  LOL  Colleen and I decided while we were iming this afternoon to have a friendly contest to see who could get the most done.  No one actually wins, but it gets us motivated as we have to do something, to be able to write something...ha ha. As I am writing this, Taffy is playing under the computer desk with her mousie, and she has knocked some Stampin' Up! invitations on the floor for me to pick up.  Hmmm....I wonder if Colleen set her up to that one.  Do I detect a conspiracy!?!?!?  LOL  I have been doing things and dashing back to im them to her, and she must just be working and will tell me later as I haven't seen anything from her yet.  Does that mean I am winning.....hee hee!  Later!  Me

Christmas Card

Hello!  Well...I escaped Dodge today and it sure felt good!  Susie invited me to come along with her to the Rapids today.  I got my outfit for the wedding and it is very nice.  I like it a lot.  They were running some very good sales at Younkers.  The jacket and shell were 50% off, the pants $10.00 off plus Susie gave me a $50.00 coupon so I got a good deal on a Laura Ashley outfit!  It is very dressy but yet I will be able to wear it again.  So I am very happy to have that done.  While Susie was picking out clothing for her Grandkids for Christmas, I checked Penney's out and then the thrift shop.  I found my Christmas sweater for Angela's Ugliest Christmas Sweater contest that we are having at our annual cookie bake next month.  It's a doozy!  LOL  When we were trying to leave Younker's we kept setting off the alarms.  The gal that had checked us out got all the ink tags off but they now have alarms hidden in some of the clothing too.  So we had to fiddle around checking bags through the door before we could finally get out of the store.  Susie had told our clerk that she was the "VP's" mother while we were checking out, which the clerk thought was pretty funny after she figured out it wasn't true.  So we had fun running with that one for awhile.  Then we had lunch at Hong Kong Buffet, made a stop at the Light House, and you would be very proud of me....I did not buy one thing there, but Susie made up for it.....lol.  Then we were off to Walmart and I bought 4 Christmas gifts, the ingredients for the desserts I am making for when we go to Paul's Thanksgiving, the ingredients for the cookie bake, plus some other groceries so felt that I got a lot accomplished today.  Of course when I got home, I had phone calls to return, dishes to do, cat box to clean, laundry to fold, and traced out some towels to stitch.  I am wiped now and am headed to bed!   Have a good one.  Me

Tree for All Season's, Branch Out, & All Holidays

These are the projects we made at Linda Mohn's stamping party last night. The top card uses the stamp set Branch Out. It is not in the current catalog but is on the dormant list and is available to purchase. You can change the coloring of the leaves to suit the different seasons. I taught the gals (after many tries...hehe) how to make the double loop bow. When I did it at home, I didn't have any problems making it. Of course when I stood up in front of the group...I had trouble, couldn't get the linen thread through the second hole....then you get nervous and your hands start to shake.....LOL But eventually I got it through the holes. Fortunately I am able to laugh at myself and not take it too seriously.
This card uses the stamp set Tree for All Season's and All Holidays. I love these color's together, but then I am a fan of the color blue. Both of these tree stamp sets belong to Melissa and she was so kind to let me use them.

I have been a busy little beaver today getting my house ready for tomorrow's down line meeting. I thought I would get some stamping done this afternoon but that never happened. Once you clean one thing, you find something else that needs cleaning. A never ending job around here, but my body has said that is enough! Plus I set the tables up for tomorrow, dishes are all set up on the counter, made the BBQ, did dishes, vaccumed, Lady Di stopped in, I was answering phone call's and doing laundry. I have a couple more things left to do tonight but I am going to take a break for awhile. The washing machine is calling my name.....have a good night and stamp something!!!

Eastern Blooms & All Holidays

I love this card perhaps because it is blue?!?!? It has a crisp and clean look to it.

Stamp Sets: SU Eastern Blooms & All Holidays, Card stock: Pacific Point (retired), Whisper White, Ink: Pacific Point (retired), Punches: 1 3/8" square punch, Word Window, White Grosgrain Ribbon.
The Whisper White Mat is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4", and the Pacific Point mat is 3" x 3". Just stamp the flower's and punch them out with the 1 3/8" square punch and mat them on the 3" square. A very quick and cute card!

All Holidays

This is a simple card that I made with the stamp set All Holidays and the Parisian Breeze DSP. The base of the card is Chocolate Chip, and I used some of the newer larger silver brads on the side. Clean, simple and cute, and makes a great masculine style card. I have been busy working on things for Sandy's party in August. I have both projects designed and cut. I will be teaching a spotlighting technique with the stamp set Friends 24/7 and we will be making a "Z" fold card with the stamp set Just Buzzin' By. Plus I have other sample cards to show you. I have been just a buzzin'! You won't want to miss this party gals! Elaine

Wanted

Hello! The card that I am posting tonight I sold today at the flea market. I used the stamp set Wanted on it. The set kind of has a western style to it and has lots of fun images to play with and to make backgrounds with. I started out the morning early picking up my food that I ordered from Share. I got some really nice stuff. Diane and I tried out the little pies this afternoon after the flea market and they were good. I cooked up the broccoli for supper and it was great! I had a few of my stamping buddies stop in today. Karen Sherrell was the first one this morning, then Carol Camp, and last but not least...I mean late...lol...was Lady Di. We got rained out a little bit early today. I left around 2:30 but the rain held off for most of the day so that was a good thing. Back at it tomorrow!

Petal Pizzaz

Hello! Today's card feature's the stamp set Petal Pizzaz. We made a card similar to this several month's ago at Stamp Camp but we made it with the stamp set Ginormous Flowers and stamped it with the current In Color Inks. I recreated this same card with Petal Pizzaz and different inks. You wouldn't even know it is the same card! It is such a quick and easy card with very pretty results.
It has been the usual zoo around here today. UPS brought Beth's order today and I got that all unpacked, sorted, and bagged up. I had 5 batches of company today and in between things I got several cards made. I just talked to Jenna tonight. Antonio, Jenna, and Diana will be coming up late on Saturday and staying over night. Jenna and Antonio will go back on Sunday night and Diana is going to stay with me for a few days!!! Yippee!!! I am so excited! Diana is 11 and loves to stamp and scrapbook so we should have a good time!

All Holidays, Tart & Tangy

Happy Mother's Day! I stopped and saw my mom today at the flea market and took her card and present to her. She loved it all. I gave her a set of cards that I stamped and a pink t-shirt that has pink swirls on it and the bible verse A Mother's heart is always with her children. I didn't stay down there long as it was raining and cold. Jen called me today and later a little girl came bouncing to my door with a bouquet of yellow roses. I was really surprised as she told me that she would bring my card and gift when she came on Memorial Day weekend. She is bringing Diana, and Roberto with her, and hopefully Antonio too if he gets off. It reminded of me when the girls were growing up. They used to like to walk to the Blossom Shop which is only about a block and a half from here and they didn't have to cross Hwy 13. They would pick me up some flower's or a little gift for Mother's Day or my birthday and the gals there would fix it up for them. They thought it was so cute that the girls would come in there. So this little girl skipping to the door....flooded me back with fond memories.

Jenna was making cupcakes for her team today and had gotten permission and money to buy food for the staff today (picnic type food) from her general manager. Yesterday they served 1556 people and last year on Mother's Day they had served over 1800. By having the staff making there own sandwiches, grabbing potato salad, cupcakes, etc. the cooks wouldn't have the extra burden of preparing food for the help too. She said she would have 50 people working at all times today. I have been to her restaurant and it amazes me when she tells me how many people go through there in a day. She said that last night was crazy and that they had served over 800 for dinner. A lot of people go out on Saturday night for Mother's Day she said, and they also had proms going on and a lot of large parties. She had taken Diana to the mall yesterday before work to get a gift certificate for Diana's mother for Mother's Day. It is so fun to watch Jenna becoming a mother to Diana. She does such a good job with her and takes raising her so seriously. She loves her like her own and that is truly beautiful to see. My girls are both so incredibly happy, and as a mother....what more could you want!

I finished Nadine's hostess gift today and I need to shoot some pictures of it before I forget to! I have been cleaning out some kitchen cabinets tonight and the freezer and throwing out old food. I took the trash out and put some stuff that was on the front porch out to the road also. I think I will go sweep the porch before it get's dark and maybe wash off the lawn chairs so I can sit out there. It is suppose to warm up this week. It is great to be able to do some of these projects right now. Keep your fingers crossed that it lasts!

Today's sneak peek is with the stamp set All Holidays, (My Dear, Kind & Wonderful Friend) and Tart & Tangy (the orange). I just love this verse and it was the reason I got this stamp set and I have used it a lot. The other sayings in the set are great too. An all around good set to have. It's a keeper! I hope you all enjoyed your day! Elaine

April Stamp Camp

Here are three of the projects that we made at Stamp Camp this month. We also made Sarah's wedding invitation, see Oct 08 post for a picture of that. The gals learned some new techniques this month. The one with the black flowers from Upsey Daisy is an emboss resist technique with sponging. We had a lot of gals who learned how to emboss for the first time and they love seeing the "magic" of it rising on the card stock. The pink mother's day card was made with the new Manhatten texture die and vellum and was ran through the big shot. Lot's of fun pretty cards!

I have still been slaving away on my house but had a little break with Jenna, Antonio, and Diana being here the past two days. We met Sarah in the Dells last night at Applebee's and had a nice family dinner. Today we met my mom at Family Affair for lunch and had a nice time. The kids left late this afternoon and I was sorry to see them go. I had a couple of batches of company this afternoon and also marked a bunch of retired stamp sets to put out to sell at the Friendship Shoe Box Swap that Melissa and I are hosting here tomorrow. I did a few things at the fleamarket tonight before going to the church for final set up for the swap tonight. I just finished eating supper and returning a few phone calls and I am now headed to bed. I know I have been neglicting my blogging...but it has been an extremely busy month. After tomorrow I don't really have anything planned and I am SOOOOOOO......glad! If I ever get my new sewing and scrapping room's finished...I will post some pictures! Or better yet...come visit! Elaine

January Stamp Camp Cards

Whew! My two stamp camps for this week are done! And when I got home at 5 this afternoon, I was one tired and hungry little girl! So I made a quick supper of fried eggs and hash browns. I am out of bread so couldn't have toast with it. :-(
I read my emails while eating and then hit the bed with the NEW Catalog! Yippee Skip! Getting the new catalog is like getting the JC Penney Christmas catalog when you were a kid! A couple of people stopped in tonight to pick up there's and the stamp camp girls got there's today so I know there are a lot more people drooling over it tonight too! Lady Di and I were looking at it together over the phone....and I am sure the Minerva and I will be again tomorrow over the phone as she isn't going to have a car tomorrow and stopped and picked one up tonight! Then I stamped and put together 11 of this card that has the saying My Dear, Kind, Wonderful Friend. I just love that stamp! And the Ginormous Flower stamp that I used on it is retiring...boo hoo. The two cards with the glitter and embossing on them DID NOT scan well, so have mercy on me.....they are much better in real life and not ugly as they appear on here!

Look What You Missed!

If you didn't come to stamp camp this month, these are the cool projects that you missed! We also did the frog card that I sent earlier as a sneak peek.
