My friend Carol called me this morning and asked me if I would like to go to WI Rapids today. When she arrived she told me that she wanted to celebrate my birthday today, and she handed me a birthday present. Much to my delight, inside it, was a wool pressing pad. I have heard so many awesome things about them. That they are super good for pressing fabric and I am really excited about trying it out. </p><p>We visited and shopped. Went to Goodwill and Lighthouse books, which is one of my favorite places to shop at. They have an amazing stamp store along with a Christian book store. So some goodies from there came home with me along with a couple stamp sets I found at Good will. :). We had lunch at Applebees. Yummy Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad, Spinach Dip, and a Sundae for dessert. Lol I will be so happy when the transmission for my washing machine comes and I can do laundry at home again. This gets old fast, especially with the cold. Tuesday will be 4 weeks of dragging it around. :( <p></p><p>The bottom picture is of a notebook I decorated with this beautiful Parisian paper. I did another one differently but must have deleted the photo by accident earlier in the week, so I am not showing that one. You'll have to buzz on over and take a look. Lots of new things on the porch. :)</p><p>The Happy Birthday cards I made this evening. I am trying to get the Birthday bins restocked as they were getting low, especially the women's bin. </p><p> These are some great birthday cards to have handy in one's card stash as they could be used for any age, male or female. I don't think you can see it in the picture but the balloons are sparkly. A better word to use would be "glimmer".</p><p>In other fun news, I have introduced the kids to "The Munsters". The "old tv shows" are really more fun. They are so different that the gkids are mesmerized by them. They sit so still and don't move a muscle. :) We had planned on watching more of Mr. Ed but oddly enough, the few season two episodes we saw available last week have disappeared. So strange. We did some shopping in Plover and Stevens Point and had supper at Asian Buffet. They do it differently now. You pick out items for "your buffet" and they cook it and bring plates to your table. Yummy. We got home pretty late last night so I am a little tired today, but it was fun. Jenna picked up a bunch of things for the new baby. I belong to a stamping group that holds card challenges. This months card challenge was to make a card with the theme from a January mood board. It has pictures of chocolate's and conversation hearts, stuff like that so I came up with this card that could be used for Valentine's Day or other special occasions. I love that I can start watching it from the beginning of the series and not miss an episode. I am excited to watch it again. A show that can actually make me belly laugh. Here is a pretty owl hat I finished last week. It is a size 4T to small adult.<p></p><p>It is Wednesday... which means it is Porch day! Stop over and say hi!</p><p>I hope to post most every day. We will see how that goes. I have the best intentions but life sometimes gets in the way.</p><p>The littles were here yesterday so that kept me pretty busy. I let them play with playdo. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with playdo as it is super fun to play with, yet it makes such a mess. They drop it on the floor and then it can get dragged all over the house, on the carpet etc, so I had to watch carefully to make sure that wasn't happening. I think I will get a picnic table or patio table in the spring so they can play with it outside and I won't have the mess in the house. Plus we will then have a table to eat on . Our littlest who is three, woke me up one morning a few weeks ago..."Grammie, can we have a picnic outside this morning, like we did before!?!" I started laughing as it is definitely not picnic weather in Wisconsin. A blanket sitting on top of snow, in this cold weather wouldn't be much fun. So I had to explain that it is too cold to do that right now. This set has the wood slab and tree in it. I used a different set for the sentiments. I made this for an order I am working on and have three available. :)</span></div><p></p><p>I was in my stamping room this afternoon and was thinking about listening to something while I worked. I was reminded of the bible passage Philippians 4:8. Finally, brothers, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. </p><p> To me that sends a clear message that we are to be focusing on the good, and I feel that we need to do that now more than ever as the world feels so uncertain. Our hope is in the Lord. It reminded me to listen to The Next Right Thing with Emily P. Freeman on Google Podcasts. I have it downloaded on my phone. I thoroughly enjoy her soothing and calming voice as she tells examples and stories about making decisions and doing the "next right thing" in your life. I have had a peaceful four hours, stamping and listening to her Christian messages. She had a couple of other women as guest speakers in the podcasts I listened to today, they also do podcasts. I thought you might enjoy seeing my finds. The thing I am most excited about is still in the car, so you won't be able to see that. I got a brand new, in the box, ironing board center that is in a cabinet that you attach to the wall. You open the white cabinet door and the ironing board comes down from the wall. When you are done ironing, you can lift it back up and shut the door. It is going to look so nice in my sewing room and I am very excited to have found it! Here are the rest of my treasures. Lots of crafting supplies, and a few things for the grand kids.<br />

I had a busy day today. My friend Gloria stopped over for a short visit. Someone stopped to pick put the press back chairs I sold them, and Deb came over to paint the inside of my porch closet. We went for lunch at the Bar and Bowl, and I had a nap after she left. I got into the stamping room tonight and designed this card with the Paper Smooches Stamp Set Best Buds. I love these cute flowers in the mason jar. I colored the images with my Copic Markers. I am still learning how to do shading, and I continue experimenting with how to use them. I love them, but coloring is definitely a learning process. Maybe I am too hard on myself about it, but there are some people out there who really do an awesome job coloring images. I would really like to take an advanced class with Copic Markors. I saw that the stamp company My Favorite Things is having one in Florida. I would love to attend that.....AND just stay for the winter!!!! LOL<br />

I thought it would be fun to stamp some flowers and leaves on colored card stock. This is great to do when you want to pop out a card, and you don't feel like coloring. That was me tonight! :) And if you are like me...you have oodles of small pieces of card stock that need using up. I got rid of 4 tonight, and have left overs to use on another project. So I stamped these then let my Brother Scan N Cut2 cut them out for me. In the picture above you can see my pile of them. I also cut out a piece of white card stock 4" x 5 1/4" to use as my card front. I played around with the leaves and flowers until I liked my lay out.<br />

I used liquid glue to glue down the flowers and leaves, then put some of my stamp blocks on top of them while they dried. This method works really well and they dry quickly!<br />

I added this really thin foam tape to the back of my card front. I went to an estate sale last week and bought a whole bunch of stamping stuff. This roll of tape was in a bag I bought of adhesives. I love how thin it is. Here is a picture of it in case you would like to get some. It has adhesive on both sides and is about 1/2" wide.<br />

In this photo I thought I would give you a little tip on how to cut fishtails on the end of your sentiments. Cut your piece of card stock to the desired width and finished length. In the middle of the end of the card stock. Cut a slit as far as you would like your V to be. (Fig1) Then take you scissor and cut from each tip to the middle of the V. (Fig 2 & 3) If you take your time and do it slowly, it should turn out perfect!<br />
I also put some of the mounting tape under the sentiment to pop it up and give the card some more dimension. The front panel was mounted onto a white card base that was cut 5 1/2" × 8 1/4", and then was folded in half.<br />

I have been working on this Car Seat Cape for a few months now for an order. There was no rush as you can't wear something this warm in our hot Wisconsin summers! I also have been having a lot of pain in my right hand, the past couple of months, so I kind of needed to take it easy. It is feeling a lot better now....I hope it lasts! This turned out to be a very pretty color combination. I really like it. :)<br />
