Pretty in blue

I am not feeling so hot.  My allergies are really bothering me.  I slept 3 hours tonight after supper, and I am ready to sleep some more!  Tomorrow I just need to go to the flea market in the morning so that Mom can go and collect the rent from the tables and then I will be able to come back home.  I have a feeling that I will be resting most of tomorrow.  I sure hope that I am wrong and feel better in the morning.
Tonight I marked more fabric to go down there.  I have a table just designated for fabric now.  I also put a quilt rack and a end table in the van to be put out tomorrow, plus I have a box with small coolers and thermo that are going too.  I think I will go drag out a few more things before I hit the hay.  Most everything around here is....GOOOINNNNG....so stop down and check out all the goodies!
P.S. Isn't the little bird on this stamp from Four Frames adorable!?!?!?!  And Teeny Tiny Wishes works so well with this set!

Paisley Petals paper and Four Frames

Happy Memorial Day weekend!  It was a very busy weekend at the flea market today, and hopefully it will be the same tomorrow and hopefully the rain will hold off till it is over.  Lady Di and I went for Chinese in town tonight and it was delicious as usual!  We had a nice visit and then I headed home.  I got some more fabric marked, and then headed down for a nap with the cats.  I just finished marking another batch of stuff that I brought down stairs tonight.  Little by little, it is getting done.
This is another card with the Paisley Petals Designer paper and a different stamp from the Four Frames stamp set.  The verse is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I sure use that set a lot!  I really love the roses on this stamp set.  So very elegant!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Elaine

Four frames sympathy card

This is a card I made last month when the new stamp set Four Frames was available as a sneak peek from the new Stampin' UP! Catalog that will be available to order from on July 1st.  The verse inside the frame is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The designer paper was also available in July and will be in the new catalog and it is called Paisley Petals.  I will be showing you some other cards that I made with this in the next few days.  These are pretty simple cards, I was mainly trying to show case the new designer paper and the Four Frames stamp set.  It works with the decorative label punch so it is a snap to make a card with.  I just love stamps and matching punches or dies.

Not a whole lot new around here.  I ran some errands this morning, and other wise I have been sorting and marking things.  I was kind of tired today, but my nap early this evening helped a lot.  I marked some baskets and a bunch of fabric after I got up, so I got a second wind.  If you aren't busy, stop in and say hi at the flea market this weekend!  Elaine

  • Insert of card, 3 1/2" x 5", Anchor is stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink, and the verse is stamped with Early Expresso.

Oh this was such a fun card to make.  I just love this new stamp set called The Open Sea, and the matching Nautical Paper.  I made 6 of these cards.  The panel with the ship on gives the illusion that it is designer paper, but actually it was all stamped.  That is what I love about this set that it is so versatile to work with.  And the new Cherry Cobbler Baker's twine is to die for.  So nice and thin and easy to work with.

What an awesome RAK (Random Act of Kindness)

Look what arrived in my mailbox today.  New toys...yippeeeee!!!  What a pleasant surprise!  Last week I saw on one of the forums that a demonstrator was looking for General Foods International Coffee Tins.  She wanted them with lids on them, about 10 to 12 of them.  I wrote to her right away and told her that I had a big box full of them upstairs, but that I don't usually save the lids as I don't use them, but I would check and see how many I had.  I ended up having 9 with red lids, and 11 of them with clear lids.  I told her that I didn't expect anything for them, that I just wanted to be reimbursed for the postage to ship them to her, but if she wanted to send me something, I would be delighted.  She told me that she would take them all if I didn't mind, and that she would reimburse me for my postage, and that she would send me a little package.  This is what came today, and I am totally thrilled with it, as I didn't have any of these things, and they will be so much fun to play with.  She had told me that the frames were coming and that she thought I would like to put my grandson's picture in the middle of them but I never expected to receive all this!!  How cool is that!  Thank you Carol, and thanks for saving all the tins for me mom!  Love, Elaine

Spellbinders and Papertrey Inc Die Storage

Hello!  I am sorry I have been a little lack on blogging.  Right now I am focused more on packing and sorting than crafting.  But some times I need a break and I will try to post as I make stuff.  Please be patient with me, things will get more normal after I am "moved".
Today was a bumming day, sort of.  Diane and I headed to the Rapids first thing this morning.  Our first stop was Light House Books, in Wisconsin Rapids.  They have a very nice stamping and scrap booking section in their store.  We hadn't been there in awhile as Diane has been getting Bernie groomed in town.  I wasn't sure when I would get that direction again, as normally I would shop in Milwaukee, or near the booth in the Dells.  So I wanted to stop in there.  I had a 20% off coupon so picked up a set of Spellbinder's dies, a package of Score-tape, and some graduation stamps in the nifty $1.50 section.  Then we headed over to Staples as I had seen on someone's blog where they had used a CD hanging file case to store Nestie's.  I found one and absolutely love it so I thought I would share with you how I set it up after we got home.  The box comes with 40 transparent colored sleeves and has a "pocket" on each side, so you can store dies on both sides if you wish too.  I set mine up to store them only on one side, as most of my sets are large ones and I didn't wish to distort the pocket by putting too much weight in it, and I have plenty of pockets to use yet so space wasn't an issue.  They fit in the sleeves so nicely, and I even dropped 2 sets of sleeves on the floor while I was labeling them and the dies did not fall out of the pockets.  This system is going to work great for me and I am especially happy to find a good way to store my Papertrey Inc Dies, as some of them are small and you could easily lose them.  I have the canning jar, lid, canning jar label, and canning jar toppers all in the same sleeve and I made sleeves up for a couple of dies that I just ordered.  They should be arriving any day now, so it will be all set up and ready to go when they arrive.  Our next stop was Aldi's, and then Walmart where I finished my grocery shopping.  I do all my grocery shopping once per month, so it is a big project, but then it is all done, and I don't have to mess with it for another month.  Our last stop was the Hong Kong Buffet where we had some yummy stuff.  After dropping Di off, I put away groceries, worked on the making labels for the new storage box, caught up on the computer, and then decided that I would rest, watch some TV, and sort through more magazines.  This was around six o'clock and after I got on the bed, I decided just to watch TV for awhile as I was too tired to turn pages.  I fell asleep after about an hour, and slept almost 2 hours.  I was just waking up when Susie called me around 9pm.  We talked almost an hour, then I got up and started working on "Campaign Move" as I like to call it.  Carol has been bringing me boxes almost every day, and I  sure am going through them.  Tonight I cleaned out 3 cabinets in the kitchen.  I marked 3 boxes of stuff to sell, did dishes, and still need to mark some wine glasses that I washed up.  I just had a sandwich (my supper) at 11:30!  Now I do have to say, I believe that is the latest I have ever eaten supper!  I am not the least bit sleepy, so I will probably be up awhile yet.  Maybe I will go stamp for awhile!  Make it a great Thursday!!!  Elaine

Card/Scrapbook Embellishments

As many of my readers know, I keep all of my paper scraps and punch them out with punches.  I have a large container of items punch out, the size of a Tupperware 2 layer round cake taker!  So this afternoon and evening, I spent some more time catching up on my TV programs and putting together scrap book/card embellishments.  This picture is a pile of 31 packages that I got done tonight.  Then I started again on my daily campaign clean, sort, mark, and pack project.  Tonight I worked some more on the bathroom, and now the whole wall of cabinets above the washer and dryer is empty.  I also sorted through a bunch of shoes and took a bunch of stuff that I pitched to the road.  I am the only person on this block I would guess that is taking trash out at midnight!  LOL  I have real productive spurts in the evening, so I run with it whenever it happens!  I have one more bag of trash almost full so I think I will go do that and call it a day!  Happy Monday!  Elaine

Make'n Pretty Little Doodad's

The finished project, all packaged and ready to go!

This is the batch I just finished up.  They will get packaged up another day.

A closeup of a doodad.

More packages all ready to go!
This is what I have been up to since I got home this afternoon from the flea market.   I have been making card/scrap book embellishments.  I set up my bed table, brought my old dictionary, the button bin, and a big bunch of ribbon, and sat on the bed watching episode after episode of Law and Order's that I recorded.  I love making these and it was a very enjoyable evening.  Before I started doing this though, I made myself go around the house and pick out a box full of stuff to sell.  After I got it all priced, then I let myself go "play" for the rest of the afternoon in evening!  I quit around 11 and when I went in the kitchen to take my med's, I realized that I forgot to bake the cake for the funeral at church tomorrow, so I popped that into the oven, along with a load of clothes in the dryer.  I did dishes while the cake was baking.  It is cooling right now, and just needs to be frosted.  And the dryer just quit, so I think it is time this kiddo went to bed!  Have a great Sunday!  Elaine

Under the Stars

This is the other card we made last week.  The stamp set Lovely as a Tree is used for the tree background, and the bear, skeeter spray, sleeping bag and word grrreat! are from the stamp set Under the Stars.  We stamped the image with Black Stazon ink on watercolor paper, then used an aqua painter and reinkers to watercolor the images.  A cute fun card for all ages.  A great one for this time of year.  I will take a smor'e, or two or three...hee hee!  Have a good one!  Elaine

Antonio and Mason

Just thought I would share this picture of Antonio and Mason all ready for church.  The outfit Mason has on, my dear friend Michael Danowski from Germany sent over for Mason.  He looks so cute in it, and he will be able to wear the little vest a long time!

Pretty as a picture....

We made this card last week at my stamping classes and it was a big hit.  The yellow paper in the background is from Nursery Suite.  The next layer matted on black was stamped with Sahara Sand and I used the stamp set Bella Toile (one of my favorites!).  I love the ability to make my own designer paper with background stamps!  I printed the polka dot paper from a digital download I bought of 43 different colored polka dot papers from Stampin' UP!  This color is Crumb Cake.  The grosgrain ribbon was pleated, and the flower and leaves were stamped with the stamp set Flower Fancy then cut out.  The verse is from the set Bring on the Cake and punched out with the scalloped circle punch.  The fancy edge punch was used on the Basic Black Card stock to give it a nice lacey border.  If you like this card, it will be available at Adams Flea Market, and the Craft Mall of Wisconsin Dells.
Enjoy this beautiful weather!  Elaine

Brrr....

Good Morning!  I can actually say that as it is about 1:30 am right now.  It was another cold day at the flea market today and very windy.  But that didn't stop the people from coming out.  I got home around 3 today and I took a nap and slept almost 3 hours.  I started working on some card packets that were all cut and I finished 20 cards tonight.  Woo HOO!  I am a tired little camper now so am headed to bed!  Have a great Monday!  Elaine

Happy Harmony Mini Notebook

Happy Saturday night!  It sure was a cold and damp today at the flea market.  I ended up coming home early today around 2 as everything was dieing down.  But the people that had been there were buying good and enjoying it, and that is the main thing.  I stopped at Pamida on my way home and picked up 2 Sterilite 3 drawer 12 x 12 scrapbook drawers.  I had those filled up in about 5 minutes....lol.  I now have 9 sets of them full of designer paper, and other things.   I  had bought a bunch of Sterilite shoe box size 3 drawer units to store cards in last year so went upstairs and brought a few of those down stairs and I have been working pretty steady all evening and filled up 3 sets of those.  I am making great progress on the stamping room.  I don't think my work space has ever looked so clean.  The next things to tackle in there are a few boxes on the floor, and then the table by the window.  Even though it may look like a tornado hit around here, I am making progress.  :-D
I made 4 of these little mini notebooks on Friday and I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Stampin' UP! Happy Harmony.  I just love this set.  I will be showing you some more little notebooks  I made with this set tomorrow.   Have a good one!  Elaine

Word Play Tag

This is a tag I made using the stamp set Word Play and some punches.  I am really tired tonight.  It has been a long week!  I ran around this morning and did some errands.  Carol stopped this afternoon with more moving boxes, and Sandy Wellumson brought me some goodies!  I also received a bag of goodies last night from Sue Paape!  I have loved it all.  Thanks for the nice RACKS girls!!!
Little Mason is really getting into talking to Grammy on the phone.  I talked with Jenna a few minutes this morning and right after we said hello, Mason started fussing, and I heard Jenna say, "You want to talk to Grammie?  Here she is."  I started talking to him and he started talking back.  In the background I could hear Antonio saying, who are you talking to (to Mason), are you talking to your ______, what ever the word is in Spanish for Grandma.  Jenna gets back on and tells me that Mason really enjoyed it, that he is getting the hang of it, and that it makes him feel important.  LOL  That's my baby!
Have a great weekend, and stop down at the flea market and say Hello!

Java Queen

I finished up my tea bag holders today.  I decided this morning that they "needed" something so I did a little more decorating on them and now I am happy with them.  Tonight I made 4 of these little notebooks and I transferred another batch of stamps to the sliding drawers.  All the stamps are packed now except the new clear ones in the DVD cases.  I will have to do a lot of projects to get another drawer freed up as the last 3 that I have are full of alterable objects, envelopes, coasters, and clear bags.  I think I will head to the grocery store and pick up the tea so that I can get those packaged up.  Have a great day!  Elaine

From one old bag to another....

This is the inside of the tea bag holder.  Where I have the Crumb Cake card stock is where the tea bag will slide in.

Good Evening!  I know I have been slacking on my blog posting but I have had a good reason.  I have decided that I am going to move to Milwaukee, so I have been busy sorting and marking things that I won't be able to take, trying to get started on this humungous job I have to tackle.  I have 25 years worth of stuff in this house so it is a big job.  I wanted to wait till after I told my stamper's Monday night before I put it on the blog.  They were quite surprised.  As I looked down the table, everyone's jaws had literally dropped!  They are sad that last night was the last night we will be meeting, but Susie Smith is going to take over the group so they will still all be able to get together.  I sure will miss everyone, but I will be back to visit.  I am very excited about my new adventure.
Today I worked on the stamping room, sorting through some of my stuff, and marking some of my "doubles" and alterable items to sell.  I empty 3 of my 29 quart sterilite containers today, and put my "current stamp sets in them.  I still need to empty one more before I will be finished with that project.  When I get done with the stamping room, it will be the easiest room to move as I am trying to get everything that isn't already in a sterilite drawer in one.  Then when it is time to move, all we will have to do is put packing tape around the drawers and they will be all set to move!!!  And the bonus part is that I will be able to stamp immediately, and know where all my stuff is!  Too bad the rest of the house won't go so smoothly, but I guess you can't have it all.  Hee hee!
My friend Pam Collins stopped in today for a visit, this evening.  It is always great to see her and catch up on things.  When I told her I was moving, she said to me "You want to be by that grand baby."  And I said "YEP!"
Tonight I needed a break from the sorting and marking, so I worked on these tea bag holders.  I have another eighteen of them in progress.  The pattern paper is on them.  I just need to finish decorating them and attaching the ribbon.  They are a fun little project and make a great little gift for someone.  The card stock on the inside won't be there, that is where the tea bag goes.  I just stuck that in there for an example as I don't have my tea bags yet.
It is with sadness that I have to tell you that my school mate Randy Waite past away on Saturday.  The funeral is tomorrow morning.  My dear friend Diane was married to him.  Age 50 is way too young to die, but he has had a long battle the past four years with stage 4 lung cancer.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Waite, Bredesen, and Schwabe families.  Our dear Aunt Pat Cook past away over the weekend too.  We were lucky to have her living here for about 8 years and she taught many children in the area how to play piano.  She was an avid gardener, played the organ for her church, taught bible study, loved animals, was a devout Christian, and spent her life helping others.  She will be truly missed.  Love, Elaine

Mini Notebooks

I am  back again!  I had a great little nap and feel good again.  I had 8 mini notebooks sitting here from 2 (?) years ago that just needed paper selected and cut for the backs of them so that was my first project, to get them finished up.  Then I decided to dig out some more mini notebooks from my stash to decorate, and these are the four that I just finished.  Tomorrow is opening day for the Adams Flea Market.  Woo HOO!!!

Magnetic Refrigerator Note and Pen Holder

Well, I am back from the stamp cave with another little project to show you.  I just finished this Sewing magnetic refrigerator note and pen holder.   I am sure some one will scoop this up to give to one of their sewing friends, or for their self.  It will be a "one of a kind" as this is the only one I have.  This kiddo is getting a headache and desperately needs a nap!

D is for Dog Treat Jar

I just finished up 4 of these dog treat jars and I love how they turned out!  I used the stamp set D is for Dog, and the verse is from the retired set So Many Sayings.  The designer paper is Woodland Walk, from the big catalog.  Such pretty paper.  I thought this wood grain was perfect to go along with the dog as they are always peeing on tree's!  These are the punches I used on this project: Modern Label, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punch. The label behind the dog was made with the Lots of Tags Die and the Big Shot.  I am off to due some more creating!  Catch ya later!  Elaine

Another cutie pie hat!

Baby Bear Hat

Today's picture is of a crocheted Baby Bear Hat.  It is tiny, it is meant for a 3 month old.  Can you tell I have babies on the brain....as usual!!!!  It was a fun project to make.
Mom was over for a visit today, and I ran some errands.  Diane called and I met her and Judy at Hwy 13 & 21 for an early supper.  I went back to the house with them and visited awhile, then headed home.  I put some stamps loose individual stamps in a 3 drawer Sterilite Container that was designed for 12 x 12 scrapbook paper, and they fit so nice in there.  Susie called and I was chit chatting with her for awhile.  Now it is time to get to work!  Elaine
