Thanks

Today's card is made with two Paper Smooches Stamp sets, Sentiment Sampler, and Needle Little Love.  I love Paper Smooches quirky fonts, and Needle Little Love is an adorable sewing set, and was the very first stamp set I bought from them.

I thought I would share with you some of the steps I did with this card.

I thought it would be fun to stamp some flowers and leaves on colored card stock.  This is great to do when you want to pop out a card, and you don't feel like coloring.  That was me tonight!  :)  And if you are like me...you have oodles of small pieces of card stock that need using up.  I got rid of 4 tonight, and have left overs to use on another project.  So I stamped these then let my Brother Scan N Cut2 cut them out for me.  In the picture above you can see my pile of them.  I also cut out a piece of white card stock 4" x 5 1/4" to use as my card front.  I played around with the leaves and flowers until I liked my lay out.

I used liquid glue to glue down the flowers and leaves, then put some of my stamp blocks on top of them while they dried.  This method works really well and they dry quickly!

I added this really thin foam tape to the back of my card front.  I went to an estate sale last week and bought a whole bunch of stamping stuff.  This roll of tape was in a bag I bought of adhesives.  I love how thin it is.   Here is a picture of it in case you would like to get some.  It has adhesive on both sides and is about 1/2" wide.

In this photo I thought I would give you a little tip on how to cut fishtails on the end of your sentiments.  Cut your piece of card stock to the desired width and finished length.  In the middle of the end of the card stock. Cut a slit as far as you would like your V to be. (Fig1)  Then take you scissor and cut from each tip to the middle of the V. (Fig 2 & 3)  If you take your time and do it slowly, it should turn out perfect!
I also put some of the mounting tape under the sentiment to pop it up and give the card some more dimension.  The front panel was mounted onto a white card base that was cut 5 1/2" × 8 1/4", and then was folded in half.

I thougt I would show you how to take the accessory stamps from a set stamp set to get more use and mileage out of your stamp sets.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Car Seat Cape

I have been working on this Car Seat Cape for a few months now for an order.  There was no rush as you can't wear something this warm in our hot Wisconsin summers!  I also have been having a lot of pain in my right hand, the past couple of months, so I kind of needed to take it easy.  It is feeling a lot better now....I hope it lasts!  This turned out to be a very pretty color combination.  I really like it.  :)
This photo shows a little better the slots for the arms.  I hope I get to see a picture of the little guy wearing his poncho.  :)
A view of it hanging!  I am excited to be back blogging again.  I have missed it!  The past few years I have been posting the things that I make on facebook.  If you would like to see what I have posted over there, click on the "Love What You Do" picture on the right side of the page.  I hope that you will leave comments....I love hearing from you!

Love and Sympathy

Today's post are some of the batch of sympathy cards that I made about a month ago.  I think I made 15 sympathy cards that day.  I was on a roll!  Now mind you...just because they get made don't mean they get sent out.  :-(  I have had so much going on.  I sure do hope things slow down soon!  I am working towards that goal!!!
These cards were made with a new stamp set I recently got that I am sure will get lots of use.  It is called Love and Sympathy and it is such a beautiful stamp set.  I have wanted it for some time...and finally bit the bullet and got it.  I am sure you will be seeing lots more of it.

I was home today until about 9:30 tonight.  I went to the Dells to pick up Antonio from work.  I had quite a productive day at home before I left.  I did some entry work on Quick Books for the church, had a nap, payed a big stack of church bills, and then sewed a little peasant dress for Valentina.  Both Jenna and Antonio loved the little dress I made, especially Antonio.  He said that when his little girl gets walking (which will probably be in the next couple of weeks) he wants her to be in lots of little skirts and dresses.  Well, this Gram can help in that department as I have been collecting lot's of little girl patterns, and have lots of fabric to work with!  I took some pictures of the little peasant dress tonight and discovered that the power cord went bad when I was trying to transfer the pictures to the computer.  I have been having trouble with my camera battery not keeping a good charge, and now I think it probably was due to the power cord, but decided to order a new battery along with the power cord just in case the battery is bad too.  It won't hurt to have a second camera battery.  I really love my camera but it has not been taking the best pictures the past few months.  So hopefully this will solve the problem and perhaps I will be doing more blog posting!  That is if you are lucky....LOL!

I see the weather man is predicting ANOTHER big snow storm for us starting tomorrow afternoon.  YUCK is all I have to say.  I am definitely ready for spring.  I am looking forward to playing outside with the grand babies, and taking them for walks with the stroller.  Let's all say on the count of three...."Good bye winter....Hello Spring!"

Whirlwind Sunday....what a busy day!

Yesterday was crazy busy for me.  I was up, out and about early as Sunday was the Quarterly voter's meeting at church and I had to be there before 9 am to get copies of my report ran, attend the meeting, and give my report.  Then I went to church and sat with my daughter Jenna and her family.  I spent probably another hour after church discussing treasurer business with Pastor, and they it was off to Jenna's to pick up my wallet that I had left there, then to Kwik Trip for gas, a run through the Mc Donald's drive thru to pick up some lunch, and a stop home to pick up some stamping projects to work on.  I headed out to Lady Di's and we stamped the afternoon away!  I finished 15 Mickey and Minnie cards so it was a productive afternoon with lots visiting and laughter!  Both Di and Antonio (my son-in-law) asked me to have supper with them, and I ended up having supper with Jenna and Antonio, much to my grand kids delight.  It was a delicious dinner of BBQ chicken, a California blend vegetables topped with mozzarella cheese, and a rice dish.  By this time of night I was loosing steam as I only a couple of hours of sleep the night before, so I headed home right after supper, around seven.  I was in bed and a sleep by 8:30pm, slept about 4 hours, and now I am writing this blog post and will head back to bed soon to catch some more zzzz/s before my busy Monday starts!
This post has the second half of "Thank you" cards that I made.  I thought you all would enjoy seeing them made up in some more color combinations.  They were a fun scrappy project.  Enjoy your day!  Hugs!  Elaine
