Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

 

Today is my Mom and Dad's 51st anniversary and this is the card that I made to give them.  This DSP is just gorgeous.  I love the glitter in the flower centers.  I made this card so fast.  It is funny how some cards are that way, your designing process just works, and it works quickly.  This was a simply card to make.  But it was fun to play with all those embellishments that we tend to hoard.  I had some leaves in one of my die cut/punch drawers that I had cut out with the SU Birds and Blooms Die.  It is nice to have those things done a head of time and you can just quickly grab them.  I took a foam pad and a stylus and made "veins" on the leaves if you look closely, you can see them.  The border on the bottom was punched with a Martha Stewart Punch, and the Happy Anniversary was stamped with  SU Teeny Tiny Wishes (one of my most used stamp sets) and it was cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Double Ended Tags Die.  The flowers are from Michael's and the Rhinestone brad is from SU.  Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!  Wishing you many more!  Love, Elaine

Here comes the weekend...and the heat wave!

Hello!  It is gloomy and it is trying to rain here in Mayberry.  I made 6 of these cards today before Di and I decided to head up to the Rapids this afternoon.  We had received the Lighthouse flyer last week and there were some stamps on the flyer that were calling Di's name!  We had Chinese first at Hong Kong buffet, then headed over to Walmart.  I picked up a few groceries while Di was picking out a carpet cleaner.  After that we headed over to the Lighthouse Books and stamp store, and we each picked up some new things.  Maybe if I am ambitious, I will ink some of them up later.  I got an adorable button jar rubber stamp, a rubber stamp of a sick mouse that is wrapped up in a quilt with a cup of soup in front of him and a tissue box beside him, and a little monkey stamp set.  They are all adorable.  They have some really cute stuff.

Speaking of cute....Mason has really been melting this Grammies heart.  The last few days when I talk to him on the phone, he immediately recognizes my voice, and his voice changes.  As soon as he hears my voice, his voice changes into this happy sing songy babble.  It is just adorable, and I absolutely love it.  I usually have tears running down my face while I am talking to him, he sounds so happy to hear my voice!

Love and Care

 It's Monday, and I'm a stamping!  I was tickled to get my mail today.  It was a good mail day, both of my trades arrived!  Yippeee!!!  New rubbah to play with!  I am IN LOVE with this set.  It is the new level 2 hostess set from the Summer Mini catalog called Love and Care.  I decided to make 6 of these cards and make them into Anniversary Cards.  I am invited to a picnic at the Dallman's next weekend.  It is Gerry and Vicki Dallman's 35th wedding anniversary, (Zach's folks and Sarah's in-laws).  They are also going to celebrate Zach passing his EMT course, and Tarek (Zach's nephew) 3rd birthday.  So I decided to get busy and get the anniversary card made today.  I love how it turned out.  So nice and summery!  Hang on....the oven buzzer is buzzing....my brownies are done!  Can't let anything CHOCOLATE burn!  Hee Hee.

Mom called today, and we met at the flea market to move some things around.  We put my Tastefully Simple up in the front of the stall, and made room for more of her Rada knives, and products.  If you have never used them, you are missing out!  They have all kinds of awesome tools for the kitchen.  Stop in and check them out!

I also have been doing some more wheelin' and dealin' today.  A gal was looking for the So swirly wheel and I am going to sell her mine.  Hopefully the other 2 deals will work out too.  I sorted out some doubles of  SU ink pads that I have and those will be going to the stall this weekend.

Pretty in blue

I am not feeling so hot.  My allergies are really bothering me.  I slept 3 hours tonight after supper, and I am ready to sleep some more!  Tomorrow I just need to go to the flea market in the morning so that Mom can go and collect the rent from the tables and then I will be able to come back home.  I have a feeling that I will be resting most of tomorrow.  I sure hope that I am wrong and feel better in the morning. 
Tonight I marked more fabric to go down there.  I have a table just designated for fabric now.  I also put a quilt rack and a end table in the van to be put out tomorrow, plus I have a box with small coolers and thermo that are going too.  I think I will go drag out a few more things before I hit the hay.  Most everything around here is....GOOOINNNNG....so stop down and check out all the goodies!
P.S. Isn't the little bird on this stamp from Four Frames adorable!?!?!?!  And Teeny Tiny Wishes works so well with this set!

Paisley Petals paper and Four Frames

Happy Memorial Day weekend!  It was a very busy weekend at the flea market today, and hopefully it will be the same tomorrow and hopefully the rain will hold off till it is over.  Lady Di and I went for Chinese in town tonight and it was delicious as usual!  We had a nice visit and then I headed home.  I got some more fabric marked, and then headed down for a nap with the cats.  I just finished marking another batch of stuff that I brought down stairs tonight.  Little by little, it is getting done.
This is another card with the Paisley Petals Designer paper and a different stamp from the Four Frames stamp set.  The verse is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I sure use that set a lot!  I really love the roses on this stamp set.  So very elegant!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Elaine

Four frames sympathy card

This is a card I made last month when the new stamp set Four Frames was available as a sneak peek from the new Stampin' UP! Catalog that will be available to order from on July 1st.  The verse inside the frame is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The designer paper was also available in July and will be in the new catalog and it is called Paisley Petals.  I will be showing you some other cards that I made with this in the next few days.  These are pretty simple cards, I was mainly trying to show case the new designer paper and the Four Frames stamp set.  It works with the decorative label punch so it is a snap to make a card with.  I just love stamps and matching punches or dies.

Not a whole lot new around here.  I ran some errands this morning, and other wise I have been sorting and marking things.  I was kind of tired today, but my nap early this evening helped a lot.  I marked some baskets and a bunch of fabric after I got up, so I got a second wind.  If you aren't busy, stop in and say hi at the flea market this weekend!  Elaine

Good Evening-  I specially made this card for my readers tonight.  This is some of the old paper from the Music books I put a picture of on the blog yesterday.  It comes from the book "Burning Bush Songs" Number One, Selected by Music Committee, Metropolitan Church Association.  Prices 10 cents per Copy or $1.00 Per Dozen, Prepaid, $5.00 Per Hundred, Not Prepaid.  Copyright 1902 by Metropolitan Church Association, Waukesha, Wisconsin.  This is your history lesson for the day....LOL  But what I really want you to notice is the label.  I stamped it with the new stamp set Four Frames and punched it out with the decorative label punch.  I absolutely love this stamp set.  I am having so much fun with it!!!  It is a set that will be in the new catalog, but you are able to purchase it for the month of April with a $20.00 order.

Today is Deanna's wedding and I hope that Sarah is doing okay.  It will be a long weekend for her as last night they had rehearsal, today is the wedding and reception, and tomorrow is the gift opening.  I hope she isn't too tuckered out.  I talked to Jen tonight, I was missing them this morning, and she said she had felt the same way.  She really wants me to come to Milwaukee after I get healed up, as she would like to see me, and also wants a date night with Antonio.  Guess who Grammie will get to be with!?!?!?  Her little ray of sunshine!  So, I hope to heal quickly, and to be able to go soon!  Have a great weekend!  Elaine

A peek into my day...

 

I made 22 of these cards today for a swap that I am participating in.  I thought you might like to see how I work so I took some pictures along the way.  The first thing I did was to cut my So Saffron card stock for the base of the card.  Then I ran Pretty in Pink Card stock through the Big Shot with the Scallop Circle #2 die, one of my favorites.  I find myself grabbing for it all the time.  Next I used the Circle #2 die to cut my Sweet Stitches paper for the center of the scallop.  Then I stamped my ruler's, buttons, and the button card.  Here is a picture of all my little piles.

It is all in the details.  That is what makes a great card.  I love the little pom pom trim.  Too cute!

Mat pack and piercer all set out for piercing the scalloped circles, and for piercing the scalloped border that I will be punching.  Button cards and rulers all ready to be cut out.I dug through the scrap drawer next to my stamping desk, and stamped all my button's on the scrap paper.  Nothing goes to waste around here as you can see.  Seriously, you would think that I was born in the depression era, but I was a 60's baby.  I worked on cutting these babies up while talking to Jenna and Sarah on the phone this afternoon.  After I got all my elements ready, then I worked on assembling the cards.  I started around 11 this morning and worked pretty steady on them, except to cook lunch and supper, bathroom, and short computer breaks.  I finished them around 9:30 tonight.  YEAH!  They are done and ready to be mailed out!!!!  Woo HOO!

For the Newlyweds

This is the anniversary card I made for Jenna and Antonio.  I actually made 2 of this card so that I would have one to show at my January stamping events.  It is made with the Scalloped Oval Die.  I ran it through the Big Shot twice, once with Real Red card stock, and again with Whisper White card stock.  It automatically cuts the center oval out for you.  So I took the Whisper White oval and ran it through the Big Shot again, this time with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  I also ran the Simple flower embossing die through which cuts and embosses all at the same time.  Then I took the Little Leaves die and ran it through twice with Garden Green card stock so that I would have 2 sets of leaves.  The flower is popped up with a dimensional and I used "For the Newlyweds" stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped that with Basic Black, and then punched that out with the Modern Label punch.  I put adhesive on both ends, a dimensional in the middle to pop it up and adhered it to the card.  The finishing touch was to add some Rhinestones.  The camera doesn't do them justice, they really look awesome on the card.  This is a really fast and elegant card!

Sweet Snowglobe

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!  I am still in Milwaukee.  The days have just flown.  I uploaded a bunch of pictures before I left home so that I would have things ready for my blog posting, but I find it really hard to get it done here.  It seems like if I am able to keep up with my blog reading and answering email, I am doing good.  But that could be because I play with Mason so much...ha ha.  He is so sweet and adorable, we all seem to gravitate to him, and enjoy making him laugh and smile!  Today we are headed to Clintonville to my sister's house for our family Thanksgiving.  Everyone else is busy getting ready so I have some quiet time to blog.  Not something that is easy to find around here.
This is a card we made at stamping with the stamp set Sweet Snowglobe.  We used the sweet treat cups and snow confetti for a fun look.  Piercing, the scalloped edge punch, new decorative label punch, Tags till Christmas and Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp sets finish off the cute look.

Cards we made at Nadine's Party!

Good Evening!  These are the two projects that we made at Nadine's Stamping party last week.  The first one features shadow stamping.  I also talked about what the current trends are in stamping and showed them some examples.  We had some neat things for show and tell and had a great time as usual!  Our next stamping event is Monday, June 12th, starting at 5:30 for dinner.  Our hostess is Sandy Wellumson.  Everyone is welcome to attend, please email me or call me so that I have enough packets prepared!
This morning I went to bible study and then this afternoon I went to Mauston for a doctor's appointment. Tonight, I cut out 3 minature quilts.  They are all set to sew, so that might be tomorrow's project.  Who knows....I will see what I feel like working on tomorrow.  I am like Scarlett O'Hare.....fiddle dee dee.....I will think about it tomorrow!  I have found through the years that it is better to work on what you feel like working on rather than forcing yourself to work on something that you don't wish to work on that day, because if you do, nothing will go right!  Have a great day!  Elaine

Happy Father's Day Tags

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there!  I made up these 2 Father's Day tags to put on my Father's Day gifts to my Dad and Breezy.  The Just for you is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Happy Father's Day is from the stamp set All Holidays.  I had a bunch of stars already punched with the small star punch in my drawers of punched out object so snagged them out of there.  I cut the tags out of some recycled notepad backs with the Big Shot and then cut 2 more for each of the tags out of DSP so the fronts and backs are covered.  They look like expensive embellishments that you would buy from a scrapbook store.  I just love playing with the Big Shot.  It saves me so much money.  I made 9 more other tags tonight after I got these done.
It was a beautiful day at the flea market today inside my stall.  Perfect temperature.  It was a bit too windy though, my Tastefully Simple sign blew down and my basket rack outside.  Val (my next door neighbor) and I moved it down lower.  I did a big revamp today of the stall in between customers and I really like how it turned out.  Much lighter and brighter in there.  And I got a cat towel stitched but not much else as it was pretty busy.  I was ready for a snooze when I got home and so were Molly and Taffy.  But then again, they are ALWAYS ready for a snooze!  LOL  They love nothing better than to cuddle with me in bed.  For those of you following the adventures of Molly and Taffy......the latest antics are that I keep finding large buttons over by the entertainment stand.  And I know exactly who is the culprit of that one....Taffy.  She thoroughly enjoys taking things off the stamping desk, or snatching ribbon and running off with it.  She thinks she is so smart...and she is right about that!  Brooke is coming to see me tomorrow, and tomorrow will be the big day that she will get her special present from me!  I will fill you in on that tomorrow, and maybe take a picture or two of the cutie pie!   Two more days till our stamping event at the church.  If you haven't signed up....call me!  Have a Happy Father's Day!  Elaine

Where oh where do all the days go!?!?!

Good Morning!  I sure do not know where all days have been going but I still have a whole slew of stuff on my to do list, and not enough time to do it in!  Yesterday, I went to Tomah with Diane to her doctor's appointment.  After we got done, she asked me if I wanted to stop at Goodwill.  Actually....I think SHE wanted to stop there, and just uses me as an excuse!  LOL  I found some cake pans for Roberto and a few other little things.  We also stopped at Walmart before heading over to China Buffet for lunch.  I don't know what is with Chinese buffet's lately.  They are adding more and more American food on them.  I mentioned this to Di and said to her that pretty soon there will not be any Chinese food left on them.  She responded, then we will not go any more.  What's up with that!?!?!  When we arrived back to town we tied the baby quilt and then I headed home.  I stopped back and picked up a stamp set I needed to get out in the mail that I had sold to a gal in PA.  I hauled my stuff in, cleaned the cat box, then headed with the lap top to bed.  A few minutes later I was out like a light, and slept for an hour or so.  I started working on putting the binding on the quilt, and finished one side.  I am going to get back started on that right now.  Another thing I need to add to my do list is to shoot some more pictures of things that I have been making as I have no more pictures on the computer for the blog, and that will make for some unhappy blog readers won't it!?!?  :-D

Mojo Monday Sketch

I needed to make a birthday card and I decided to use the new birthday set that I bought a month ago when Lady Di and I went to my doctor's appointment at the Spine Clinic.  I had stamped the cake and cut it out and thought, now what am I going to do with it.  I decided that I should find a sketch and follow it.  So I went to the Mojo Monday blog and this is this weeks sketch.  I knew what paper's I wanted to use, the retired SU Parisian Breeze paper's that were still laying on my desk.  This card went together quickly and makes a great masculine card.  I used Teeny Tiny Wishes and the curly label punch on the bottom of the card.

Fresh Cuts

Hello!  I think this turned out to be such a pretty project.  It uses the stamp set Fresh Cuts, found on page 107 of the big catalog and Fresh Cut Notes, found on p.168.  It is stamped with Rich Razzleberry and a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock is inside the card behind the cut out of the flower.  A rhinestone brad finishes off the center of the flower and you can put the greeting of your choice on the bottom.  The Happy Easter is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  It is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and then punched out with the Word Window Punch, and matted with a piece of Rich Razzleberry that has been punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  The envelope has been stamped to match with Rich Razzleberry and another stamp from the Fresh Cuts set.  Pretty!

It sure was a beautiful day today.  I wore two sweatshirts and was comfortable all day.  I did throw my rag quilt over the chair as the chair tends to be cold.  There were lots of vendor's today and lot's of people walking around the grounds.  It was fun to see old faces from last year.  Tammy Renner stopped in for a visit after she got done with work.  It was good to see her!  Stop down and see me.  I would love to have you come and visit!  Hugs!  Elaine

Valentine Bitty Treat Boxes

Good Evening!  I made 3 of these Valentine Treat Boxes with the Bitty Box die that you use with the Big Shot.  I forgot to take pictures of them but they looked similar to this one on the outside.  The one I made today, I added the little squirrel from Animal Cracker's to the inside of the box and some little punched out hearts.  The outside is decorated with hearts from our new small heart punch and the Heart to Heart Embosslit.  The Heart embosslit cuts out the heart and embosses it all in one step.  I used the Stampin' Up! stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes to stamp the words Happy Valentines day.  These boxes are so fun and quick to make.  After you cut one out with the machine, you can have it assembled in a couple of minutes, do some decorating and viola...you are done!  The hardest part for me is keeping the chocolate in the house long enough to give it away!  LOL  Have a wonderful evening!  Elaine

Trendy Tree's

Hello!  It was another beautiful day in Mayberry again today!  I got project #3 designed and cut out for the Dec. stamp camp's and I know you gals are going to love it!  Actually all 3 of the projects are very nice...but do I ever show you bad stuff!?!?!?  LOL  I don't think so.  I hope that I keep coming up with better and better projects for you to do.  Susie stopped in for a few minutes late this afternoon before I headed over to my mom and dad's house for supper.  Jenna and Antonio were in town to talk to Pastor this afternoon.  They got the results from there compatibility test and they said that turned out very good, and that there communication was pretty good.  They got a lot of the last minute details figured out and Jenna is very happy about that.  She is tired of making decision's about the wedding....just wants to get married now!  LOL  She went shopping with Edith and Dianna this weekend and they got Saul a little tux, and Jen says he looks adorable.   They got Dianna's dress, and Jenna got her shoe's for her wedding dress.  They are all beaded and look like Cinderella shoes.  Quite beautiful.  It was great to see the kids and we had a really nice visit and great meal at mom's.  Well, I am off to the stamping room!  Me

Petal Pizzaz

I just finished cleaning out the stuff under my kitchen sink so that Breezy can install the new kitchen faucet tomorrow. We are also going to work on my sewing room. I am so excited! I can't wait to start working in there! The weather is just gorgeous and I love it. I had to wear my sweatshirt jacket inside the stall this weekend and I sure do love sweatshirt weather!

Animal Stories

Good evening! We had a fabulous time at Sandy Wellumson's stamping party last night. The room was full of laughter and chatter. We did some cute projects that I will be posting on another day. I haven't taken pictures of them yet. I have been busy baking for Sarah and Zach's wedding picnic this weekend. I made 2 loaves of pumpkin bread on Friday, an apple cake on Sunday night, and a pan of peanut butter chocolate chip brownies today. Sarah put me in charge of baking. I am glad that I have air conditioning or I would have one hot house this week! I finished 6 cards today, put in the stamping order, cleaned the cat box, got the laundry all done, stripped the bed, washed the sheets, remade it and who knows what else...lol I guess you will have to ask the cats. If they could talk, they would tell you as they were following me around. And Miss Molly kept planting herself on top of my card stock when I was making cards, or would sit on the computer table and she would pet me with her paw until I would pet her back. She is such a smart little thing although her timing is not always the best. But when the cat's want attention, they want it right now. And of course my cat's are not spoiled or anything. I also got some resting in several times today as my body is flaring and I am trying to stop it, if I can.
Today's cards feature the stamp set Animal stories. It is a fun cute stamp set and has matching DSP to go with it that is called Tall Tales that I have used on these cards. It is so bright and cheery. I really like it. Have a good night! Elaine
