There not too much new to report from here today.  I had a visit from Becky this morning, and had several people in and out today to pick up order's.

Jenna had told me last night that she had melted the new dog teether I gave Mason on Saturday which he absolutely loved.  She put it in some baby sanitizing bag in the microwave!  YIKES!!!  So she wanted to know if I remembered where I bought it as he loved it.  Fortunately for her, I got it at Family Dollar in town and they still had some.  It has a cat and dog and they are a perfect size, he can hold on to them good, and chops on them like a cookie!!  LOL  So grammie got him some more.  Mason and I will have to make sure that his mommy doesn't get her paws on them!  LOL  She is so fanatical about all his stuff being clean, and I keep telling her that I can't wait till she calls me up to tell me that he has been eating dirt!!!  LOL  I am bad.....  :-D

I made Pat Sorensen's casserole from the old PTO cook book tonight for supper.  It is so simple, but I sure do love it.  You brown a pound and one half of  hamburger (I used my last pkg. of elk in i tonightt) with one chopped onion, then add six peeled and chopped potato's and six peeled and chopped carrots with four cans of tomato soup and put it in a greased nine by thirteen pan, and bake it at 350 for two hours.  Delish!!!  And it freezes well too, and tastes the same reheated as the first time you make it.   I liked it so well because you can keep these staples in the house and make it when ever you feel like it.  It doesn't call for any special ingredients.  If you try this...let me know how you like it!!

Other than that, I really haven't accomplished a thing today.  I slept from about 10:30 till 1:30 today after I had already had a great night's sleep, but my sciatica is a little better today.  It is out of the foot and calf, and now starts from about the knee up so all the laying still and sleeping probably helped things.  I have been messing around on the computer today.  I made my own digital paper for card fronts with the Sew Sweet Digital paper.  I had read on a blog where someone had taken the pick sheet that looks like embroidering on the corner, and they had cropped the paper down so that you had that corner left.  I decided that it would be fun to try and do this as that corner makes such beautiful cards and it turned out really good, plus I made a sewing card front with My Digital Studio.  I took some digital sewing stamps that I bought and played around with them in MDS till I got them all the size I wanted.  I resized them, flipped them around, and kept arranging them until I made a nice layout.  I saved it and will be able to print it out over and over, then I will just have to color it and I will have a nice card front.  So it was fun to be playing and learning new things.  I sure do love my computer!!!  Elaine

Spoiled little pets....lol

 

Hello-  I am writing on my lap top from out at Di's house.  I have spent the afternoon out here, and currently have a chicken rice casserole in the oven that I brought out for supper.  I got a dog food sample in the mail today and brought it out to give to Bernie.  I was throwing him dog food and he was gobbling it up, and so was Charlie, Di's cat.  Between the two of them, the cat and dog, they have been pestering me all afternoon.  Either for more to eat or to go out to go to the bathroom, or just because they think they need more attention....lol  Di finally hollered at them to cut it out, that they had pestered me enough!  :-D

I did manage to get a new rooster towel stitched this afternoon, in between monkeying with the animals.  I am going to started another one right now.  These are some more tags that I made.  The bird and coffee cup are from the stamp set Fun and Fast Notes.  A cute set!  Try and keep warm....it is freezing here....AGAIN!!!!  Elaine

Amazing...it is not snowing today!

It sure has been quite the winter.  It is so nice and clean looking outside with all of the white snow today and blue skies to boot.  Love it!  And I am glad that the snow has stopped for a bit.  I love to watch it snow but this snowing every day is getting quite tedious.  Last night I finished watching that Kalfornia movie, which was quite scary.  Brad Pitt sure does a good job at being a redneck serial killer in it.  Then I started watching Ocean 11 and watched about half of that.  I went to bed after I finished another scarf.  I also got my barrettes all gathered while talking to my Mom and then Sarah on the phone.  So will start pressing them this afternoon.  I cut a bunch more flowers out of scraps this morning with the Big Shot for future projects.  Tonight we have Yackette's and this is the first I will have gone anywhere for almost a week.  I haven't left the yard since I went to Marshfield with Carol last Friday.  I suppose it is time to leave the ranch...although I really don't want to!!!

Bitty Box Die

Hello-  Today's project I made with the Big Shot and the Bitty Box & Envelope Die.  I just love this die.  It makes the cutest little box as you can see above.  It is great for putting little gifts of jewelry, etc. in it.  I also cut out the envelope and made a mini card to match it.  I used the Stampin' UP! Stamp Set,  Fun & Fast Notes to stamp the "cake image & greeting" on a 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" square of Whisper White Card Stock  Then I took an aqua pen filled with water to color the cake, picking up ink off my ink pad for a water colored look.  I then matted the cake image on a 2" x 2" square of certainly celery card stock, added some dimensionals to pop it off the top of the box for a 3-D look.  Last but not least, the finishing touch was to take a 4" piece of ribbon, knot it, trim the ends, and attach it to the front of the box.
For the envelope set, I used the Stampin' UP! stamp set Birthday Bliss.  I stamped the image "birthday bliss", cut it out and popped that up with dimensionals and attached it to the outside of the envelope to decorate it.  The ice cream, presents, etc. image was stamped then punched out with SU's 1 1/4" square punch, then mounted on a square that was punched out with the SU Scalloped square extra large punch.  For the inside of the mini card, I stamped the "may your layers..." image, and punched that out with the SU 1 3/8" square punch and adhered it inside.  Presto...... the good witch has waved her magic wand for a quick, easy, and cute project!  I just love working with dies and punches.  They give such a professional look to your projects!

Good Evening!  It is hard for me to believe that the day is almost over.  I feel like I haven't gotten anything done today, although I designed and cut project number #2 for our stamping event on the 12th.  It is oh so cute!  Diane stopped over this morning and we had a nice long visit.  Jenna had her first day of vacation today, which goes straight into her maternity leave.  Only 5 more weeks till baby Mason is suppose to arrive.  I can hardly wait!  We talked a long time on the phone too, plus Mom called, and I talked to Sarah a little bit and I got my stamping project done during this time.  I had a nap this afternoon, and made spaghetti for supper tonight.  I need to get motivated to do something.  I feel like curling up and watching a bunch of All My Children episodes that I am behind on, but am also thinking about sewing.  We will see what wins out!

Happy 4th of July!  We got a little pitter patter of sprinkles around noon and then around 2:40.  At 2:40, everyone was afraid that we were really going to get hit so they were packing up, and I closed then too.  But it was a good busy day, and we are fortunate that we didn't loose the whole day today to rain!  I was pleasantly surprised with lots of visitors today.  Carol, Erin, Jason, and the little cutie pies stopped in for a quick hi.  Di brought in her son Donny, and wife Mona, and great grand child Lucas.  This was the first that I have seen Lucas, he will be a year old soon!  The little birthday girl came down also to sit with me for awhile this afternoon and even brought water, just in case I was out again today.  I wasn't out, but wasn't that sweet!  Sarah was over for a long visit this morning too.  I hope I didn't forget any one else that stopped in to say "hi" today.  It was a busy day and I may have.  And one of the fun things is making NEW friends too and I seem to do that every weekend.  If they take my card and are going to read the blog....I always tell them that they will know more about me than they want to!  Ha ha!
I am glad to be home and in my air conditioning.  It was another scorcher!   I didn't even realize till I got home in the air that all my clothes were soaking wet!  It sure was humid.  I hope you are not sick of seeing pictures of tags.  I loaded up a whole bunch of pictures last week, to posts so that all I would have to do this weekend is just write and not have to mess around with uploading pictures.  It is nice to have some posts ready, and not have to take the time to do that.  I have gotten fairly fast about getting things up and loaded, but you would be surprised how many hours a week I spend on the blog.  In the past, I wouldn't post on the weekends because of  lack of time, or fatigue.  Now I post almost every day.....lucky you!  Ah the joys of technology!  Off to rest with the kitty cats....!  Me

Happy Birthday Susie!

Happy Birthday Susie Q....you little firecracker!I hope that you are having a wonderful birthday!  Man, it sure was HOT HOT HOT today!  That is all I can say.  My neighbor next door at the flea market had 103 degrees on his thermometer in the shade.  And it sure felt like it!  I was taking melted ice water and putting it on my arms, and neck, trying to cool down some. Marlene from Madison and her friends were in to see me today, and it was great to see her!  I also had lots of other "regulars" in today.  So many people I know by there faces but I don't know their names.  One gal was so kind to bring me back a bottle of water today after I had run out.  Water was selling good today!  Ruth Petersen was in to see me too, and we caught up on things!  A lot of crafts went out today, and tons of catalogs, old ones and new ones.  It always motivates me to work when the crafts are going out the door good!  Ha Ha!  Right now I need to go lay down awhile and get my feet up.  I am suppose to be laying down an hour a day with my feet elevated as I am having a lot of trouble with my feet, and legs swelling up to my knees.  I am guessing that I will fall asleep...it wouldn't surprise me!  I could use a napper!!

Gift Tins

On Saturday, I sold at the craft fair in Big Flats and did really well. So it is motivating me to work and make some more stuff to sell. I will be selling at the Mud Drags on May 17th so am working hard to get things ready for that. Here are some pictures of what I have been doing. These are
General Foods International coffee tins that I altered. I made 3x3 note cards and envelopes to put in them. You can use the tin as a pen holder after it is empty. They make such cute little gifts. I used the retired stamp set Happy Harmony and the striped paper on the can is from the Simply Scrappin' Kit Confetti. I made 4 of these sets on Sunday. Thanks for bring me a new supply of tins Beth!
I started altering the tins on Sunday night and made more 4 note card sets with Planter's Peanut Cans. The designer paper is the retired Au Chocolate paper and I used the stamp set True Friend. The paper on the bottom of the note card which is a little hard to see in the photo is Berry Bliss. I made 3 sets of these and finished them this morning. I took a picture of these before I bagged them so you could see them better.



My last project for today were these post a note holders. They are like a match book. They are stapled on the bottom and the Certainly Celery ribbon covers up the staple. The flap tucks into the bottom just like a match book. I used the stamp set Enjoy Every Moment (Melissa's) to stamp the background and used the Bird and flower from the stamp set Fun & Fast Notes. I just love that little bird. He is so cute.
