Pumpkin

When we were at the scrapbook retreat at the cabin, we made these cute pumpkins with the scallop circle die.  It takes twelve of them, you sponge all the edges first, then fold them in half and glue one side on each half, back to back, adding a stem and swirls before gluing the last edge together.  A cute project and another use for scalloped dies and punches.
I went to bible study this morning, came home and slept an hour and a half.  What a slug, but I was tired, and immediately fell asleep when my head hit the pillow.  Naps seem to be the norm these days.  I haven't accomplished too much today.  I have been embroidering on a towel that I am going to give as a birthday gift, and watching TV while working on it for hours.  The cats have liked it, they have been curled up right beside me on the bed.  I did make some chicken enchilada's for supper tonight and did dishes.  Sorted through some paper work this afternoon, stuff that had been thrown in a pile while Colleen was here.  Just trying to play catch up, and find some motivation to do it!

Grandma's little pumpkin!

Here are a couple of pictures that I took in Milwaukee on Wednesday when I took Colleen to the airport.   Mason was all dressed up in his pumpkin outfit for Grammy when I got there.  Of course Grammy needed some pictures of Mason in his little suit.  He wasn't too thrilled about the hat, but he got used to it.  When I was taking the top picture, Jenna thought he actually looked like a pumpkin and was laughing.  Mason had been smiling too, like he knew what we were talking about, and you can see just the tail end of the smile with his lower lip sticking out.  He had two new pairs of shoes on his dresser.  Every time I visit, he has new shoes on the dresser.  I said that I see Mason got new shoes again, and she will say, yes...so and so, had them on clearance.  You know mom, it is hard to accessorize boy's outfits.  LOL  Like Mason cares....hee hee.  But he sure does look cute in them.
I have been home, in the house since Thursday.  I have been cleaning my craft room, cutting tags etc with the Big Shot, punching scraps, and stamped some cards.  I actually have some things made ahead of time so I should be back to my regular posting now.  I have had a lot of people in and out and figured I'd better get busy and post something today.  You know it's bad, when your mother comes to check up on you as she has not heard anything out of you for days....(also known as you haven't posted on the blog!)  Today I worked on a totally AWESOME project that I am going to be teaching a special class for.  You're gonna love it!  Have a great week!  Elaine

Yesterday was Mason's baptism, a very important day for him and for our family.  Jenna was planning his baptism before he was born, and had ordered his little outfit before he arrived and while I was staying there.  Jenna's faith is very important to her and she is already planning that Mason will be attending the Lutheran school that is attached to their church at Mount Olive.  Mason slept through his baptism and was good as gold during church and during his party after wards.  Sarah is Mason's God-mother and Roberto (Antonio's brother) is his God-father.  I don't have any pictures of Antonio and Roberto because as soon as the service was over, they disappeared to the basement to prepare the food.  It was a very nice day with family and friends.  When Colleen and I went to leave, I discovered that the battery was dead on the van because I had left the electric cooler plugged in.  It took me a little while to get a hold of Antonio, but I did and Antonio and his friend Freddy came and jump started the van for me.  We headed back to Madison with stops at Archiver's and Michael's, and then ended the day with dinner at Cracker Barrel.  Colleen had two gift cards that had been given to her 3 or 4 years ago as a gift and they do not have Cracker Barrel any where in Oregon, so we have enjoyed dinner twice this week at Cracker Barrel.  We enjoyed looking through the gift shop, and Colleen was tickled to find Webkins possums!  Both her sister and uncle had possums for pets and she and her mother have been looking for possum items for years and have not been able to find anything.  So she was thrilled to find these, and the clerk that checked her out told us that these are a Cracker Barrel exclusive.  Today we have had a laid back day.  We had lots of visitors today, Sara Ricci, my mom, and Lady Di.  Both of us took naps today, and then I showed her how the Cricut, Dream Cuts machine, Xyron sticker maker, laminator, adhesive, and design runner work.  We only have one more day together and then she will be heading home....boo hoo....it sure has went too fast!
