Freezin' Season

Happy Sunday!  Diane and I started the day with church and then went to Family Affair for breakfast.  We each commented that it had been along time since we had breakfast out.  I had my usual Ham & Cheese Omelet, Hash browns & Homemade Toast.  Di checked out my samples for Doris party and gave me a "thumbs up" on them.  She thought they were adorable.  I cut out a bunch more ponytails after she left, sewed a few, and then headed downstairs.  I did some stamping tonight.  I made a few more samples and this card.  This card is done in Elegant Eggplant, and Pretty in Pink.  If you are coming to Doris party, you will be able to see this one in person.  I used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, 2 new stamp sets from the Occasion Mini.  One is called Well Scripted, the other is called I (Heart) Hearts.  I bought both of these in the new Clear-mounts.  I left a few unmounted so that I can show you how to mount them.  The cases are very slim, labeled on the front and on the spine.  An excellent storage system.  I have quite a few sets of contraband stamps from different companies and no one out there has a system as good as these new boxes.  If you are a clear stamp person, you are going to love them.  And.....they stamp just as good as our wood mounted stamps.  You will still be able to purchase the wood mounted stamps if you decide that you want to stick with those.  But it is nice that they are now offering us a choice.  I also used a clip from the Clip Assortment on page 179 and the large heart punch, the scalloped edge punch, and 1/8" hand held punch.  Stay warm!

Itsy Bitsy, Teeny Tiny......

No it is not a Yellow Polka Dot Bikini!  But it is tiny and that is why I put the thumb tack in the picture so you could get a better idea of the size of this little baby!  This is a sneak peak of one of the new Sending Love Notes.  This is the smaller of the two sizes and is called Kisses.  It is in the new Occasion Mini that will be starting on Jan. 5th at Doris party.  There are 20 in a package for $3.95.  A  good deal.  You can also get tiny glassine small square envelopes that they fit in and I will be showing you them too!  These little kisses are great to leave on a pillow, tuck in a lunch box, put on a gift, embellish a card with!  I love them.  I love working with little items.  I started out tonight thinking that I would make a few up to show you and then move on to some cards but ended up making 12 of them and 1 of the size larger!  They are just too fun!  I used the stamp set Animal Cracker's for this one, and punched out some tiny hearts with the 3 heart punch.  It was quick and easy and turned out so cute.  It would make a fun little Valentine or would be fun to pack in your favorite Ice fisherman's lunch box!  I lost track of the time tonight playing and had better hip hop off to bed as it is very late.  I was enjoying playing with these and listening to the top 50 Country Video's on GAC tonight.  You are going to love all the new cool stuff that is in the Occasion Mini!!!!  Until tomorrow...have a good night!

Pony tails

It is hard to believe that today is the beginning of 2010.  I am not really one to make New Year Resolution's but my goal for this year is to sew more, and that I have been doing.  I finished the twin quilt top I was working on last night.  I need to pick up a quilt batting so that I can finish it.  So today I was working on these pony tail's.  I have 8 finished, another 10 cut, a stack of fabric's pressed ready to cut, and then a whole other pile of smaller pieces ready to be pressed.  It took me quite awhile to sort through the boxes that I have a bunch of smaller piece's stashed in.  A lot of piece's in the box were too small for this project, but I found way too many that will work and I will probably be sick to death of making them by the time I finish, but right now they are still fun.  ; D.  Like Di alway say's I can never do just a few of something.

Happy New Year!!!!

I have been upstair's sewing tonight.  I am working on a quilt and I have the top half done.  I came down stairs to get something to eat as I had not ate very much today and I was getting hungry.  I sat down by the computer to eat and I had this photo in my email box from Jenna.  It said Happy New Year Elaine!!! From Roberto, Dustin, and Saul. :)
It was funny as I knew Jenna and Antonio were going to be over at Roberto's and Edith's tonight and I had thought about calling to wish them a Happy New Year.  So after I got this, I called there.  She said she had gotten most of the kids rounded up and took a picture of them on her Blackberry and sent it to me.  It is amazing what modern technology can do!  When we were at Carlson's decorating for the wedding, the little boys asked me if I could be their Grandma.  I told them after the wedding, I really would be Diana's Grandma.  They said they wanted me to be there Grandma too so I said sure.  Their Grand parents are in Mexico so they don't have any Grand parents here.  Edith had told Jenna when I was there one time how good it is for the boys to have this kind of relationship with me, that they need that.  The day after the wedding when we were saying our goodbye's at the Super 8, the little boy's were in the car and kept calling my name and telling me things before they were leaving.  Little Saul said my name for the very first time!  That sure made my day!  Jenna say's he copies everything everyone says right now.  And I suppose he kept hearing "Elaine, Elaine" and he decided that he needed to say it too!  He is such a cutie pie...they all are.  When we were driving to the reception, Diana says to me,  I was comparing when Saul came in and when Jenna came in and Saul stoled the show!  LOL  He did a great job being the little ring bearer.  He was really cute!
It is officially midnight now and I hear some fireworks going off in my neighborhood.  I hope that you all have a healthy and happy New Year!  Hugs!  Elaine
