Isabelle wearing the new barrette's

I took these pictures last Saturday of Isabelle wearing one of the new barrette's I made. Doesn't she just look adorable with it in her hair!?!?! I am going to print these picture's and put them by the barrette's so people can see what they look like when someone is wearing them. I realized that I forgot to take off the price tag before I took one of these pictures. :-(

Boy is it lovely out today. A perfect fall day.

I just rested most of the morning today. I watched some TV and dozed. Susie came over for a visit in the early afternoon, and since then I showered and have been putzing around here doing a few things. I don't have a lot of "get up and go" today but am getting a few things done. I think I will be heading back to the bed soon and it will be my friend most of today. The cat's will like that. They love to be curled up with me. I have put Molly down 3 times already while trying to type this as she hops up and sits in front of the keyboard and screen so that I can't work. She wants to be petted. She is definitely a "mama's girl". Enjoy this beautiful weather!

Milwaukee Trip

Hello! The past few days have been a whirlwind, between running around, phone calls, people stopping over for stamping order's and to visit. Just how I like it...hee hee....mentally...but my body says "No.....cut it out!" !!!!! I think I need to go back to Milwaukee to get some rest. Usually it is the other way around, but we didn't run around as much as usual and when Jenna was off, we watched a couple of our favorite shows together, Castle, and Gray's! And we talked...and we talked...and we talked more! Most nights we didn't get to bed till 1 am! But most days I managed to sneak a nap in before Jen got home. And we went to a Market America meeting. And Jenna did her first presentation for Market America while I was there. This is her new side business, and man is she excited about it and that is one of the reason she wanted me to be in Milwaukee last week, because she wanted me to see what the business is all about. If you are looking to earn extra money, or would like to save time and money by internet shopping, talk to me and I will give you Jenna's card and you can visit her website and talk to her more about it. I think it is really going to be a good thing for them. I bought some ink cartridges through her web store and saved a bundle! And in the next month if you sign up as one of her preferred customer's, you will automatically get 2% back on all your purchases. A lot of the stores you may already be purchasing from as they have over 3000 partner stores, such as Walmart, Best Buy, Joanne's, Kohl's, etc.

I arrived in Milwaukee on Monday afternoon, a couple of hours before Antonio got home from work and I sat in the yard on the tail gate of the van with my computer! You all would have been laughing...I am sure I was probably quite the site....can't leave home with out it! So I had all my email and blog hopping all done when Antonio got home. We decided that we would rest awhile before going out to dinner and I zonked out. He was watching "My Antonio" a show like the bachelor, when I got up. And then we watched a little bit of Dancing with the Stars. He took me out to there favorite Mexican restaurant where I ate that big fish on a previous visit. This time I had enchilada's. Antonio who knows everyone there...talked to the cook and told him how to prepare it for me and told the cook that I didn't like spicy things. FYI: I found out that the RED sauce they use to make them is not spicy. We had the usual tortilla chips and some sort of chopped up fish, plus they have different hot stuff in this lazy susan too but I don't try those! The food was very good. We sat at the bar and ate. Antonio likes to sing to the Mexican music. He just belts it out and doesn't worry about who hears him! Fortunately, he has a good voice. He had talked to these two guys when we came in and told them that he was out with his mother in law (they know Jenna too). It was pretty funny as they were watching (and listening) to Antonio and I laugh and talk. The one guy said something to Antonio about us but I couldn't hear it all. Antonio goes to the bathroom and the guy asks me my name and shakes my hand. On the way home I asked Antonio about this and he says that the guy was telling him that all mother in laws should be like me and accept who there daughter is marrying. That everyone should have this type relationship with there mother in law. I thought that was a pretty nice compliment. Sasha, the bartender, told me how much she loved Jenna, and what a cute couple they were and how good they get along. After we got home Antonio and I watched TV together and talked. Jenna got home from work around 11:30 and we visited till 1. She had wanted Antonio to bring me to her Olive Garden for dinner so that she could see me (sooner) and he said no way was he going to an Olive Garden after he had worked at one all day long and they love to go to that Mexican place. Do not ask me how to pronounce it! LOL

Tuesday Jenna and I talked and watched Castle in the morning and talked all afternoon, Antonio brought us home these Mexican sandwiches that you can buy on the street. I had one the last time I visited, a Hawaiian one and I had asked if we could have them one night when I visited. Antonio said of course, as he loves them too, and also LOVES it when I LOVE mexican food. He told me one time that most Americans won't even try it. I snapped the picture's above before we left for the Market America meeting in the evening. Antonio fell asleep on the couch and was snoring logs and I started shooting pictures, and Jenna was laughing. Antonio doesn't even know that I took them as he was still sleeping when we left! I met some of Jenna's Market America friends at the meeting and afterwards we headed to Border's Bookstore, one of our favorite places to go when I visit. We only got about 15 minutes there which was good for our pocket books before they closed the store. Then we went to Houlihan's as Jenna wanted a bite to eat. I had a yummy ice cream dessert, and we got talking again and we didn't get home till midnight, got talking some more and before we knew it, it was one am again. Jenna had a whole list of things we were suppose to do for the wedding, but she was just content talking so none of that got done. We did discuss how we were going to decorate the table's at the reception, so that is decided. I had bought a Just Cards magazine at Border's and had set it down in the booth at Houlihan's. All of a sudden, I looked down and watched it slide down in between the cushion of the booth! I am thinking man...that is money that just went down the drain. But Jenna said that the seats in Olive Garden's booth's lift up so you can clean under them so we would be able to get it out. So when we left we tried to lift it up, and couldn't. Then we flagged down a gal and she couldn't get it to lift either, and finally we got our waiter and he was able to lift it up and fish it out for me. They obviously do not clean under their booth's as it was filthy. Fortunately my magazine stayed safe in the bag! Just thought you would get a kick out of this story. As you know...I always have some story to tell!

Wednesday, every one was working and I worked on a Yo-Yo quilt that I am finishing for a woman who's mother passed away and did stuff on the computer. I didn't think I was going anywhere that day as Jenna had to work till 8 and then she needed to go to Office Max after that so I had stayed in my jammies. You know how I love my pajama days! Any how...Antonio had tried to call me and my cell phone had ran out of charge (I forgot the plug in charger at home, and just had the car charger along), so when he came home, he brought supper for us and asked me to go over to Roberto's (his brother & where they used to live). I said sure as I love all of them, so I took a quick shower and off we went. The little boys came running out to me. They didn't know I was coming and they were so happy to see me. Even little Saul remembered me and gave me a big smile and came to me right away and he hadn't seen me for a couple of months. Edith was working and big Roberto gave me a tight bear hug. The boys wanted me to come and visit again the next day but I told them I couldn't because we were having the party at the house. I showed them the flea market website and they loved seeing the pictures as Roberto and Dusty were here on Memorial Day weekend and had spent a lot of time there. I showed them how to Favorite it and my blog so they could look at it when every they wanted to. Antonio had gotten us pulled pork and the mexican things that are made in the corn husks. I can't keep the names all straight (nor say them, most of the time!) Any how they were delicious. Dianna got dropped off by us and later went home with us. Jen was home by the time we got there. I think we got to bed around midnight that night. Thursday morning I slept in and then Antonio and I were running around town picking up stuff for the party. We had a great time. When we were checking out at Aldi's the clerk asked Antonio "If he was taking his mother grocery shopping?" He says Yes. We told her that I was his future mother in law and she thought that was so nice. I am laughing and thinking to myself, how different this is than Mayberry where no one would ask a Mexican if the white woman he is with is his mother!?! But when Antonio and I were watching his favorite Mexican program (a soap opera of sorts), I found out that there are white Mexican's. I did not know that. Antonio's father is white and his mother is black. After all our errands, I baked cupcakes and beer bread for the Market America get together, made up Warm the Oven cheese spread (which everyone loved!), cut up cheese and sausage, etc. And Antonio made us Sopa's(?) for supper which were excellent. I was teasing Antonio that I had eaten so much different Mexican food that soon I would be running around with a sombrero on. He says to me...Momi, Mexican women don't wear sombrero's. I said I know...I am teasing you, and we laughed.

Jenna had just told us to make cupcakes, a cheese and sausage tray, to keep it simple. Well, Antonio just couldn't do that and was buying this and that, pineapple, cantaloupe, guacamole chips, tortilla chips, olives, 2 different sausages, 2 packs of cheese, salsa (that was my idea as we had so many chips. (They are probably STILL eating food from the party! LOL No one walked away hungry...that is for sure! I met some of their friends and the guys that will be standing up in the wedding. So that was nice. Speaking of the wedding. They liked the sample invitations that I had brought along very much and we decided (like I thought) that we will combine some idea's from a couple of them. So I will make a few more this week for them to see when they come this weekend. I spent some time with Dianna while they were talking with their friends after the presentation and we had a great time as usual.

On Friday, Jenna and I went back to bed after she took Dianna to school, and then got up around 11 and watched the season premiere of Gray's Anatomy. I had planned on leaving early but we talked most of the day so I got a late start home. I sure had a great time and didn't want to come home. I do love staying with them. Until my next adventure....good night!

Cleaning the scrapbook room......

Wow...this little stamping girl is tired! I had planned to go to bed at 9 but kept plugging away at cleaning my scrap booking room. I got home from the flea market early today, about 1, due to some rain and wind that blew up. I hadn't planned on cleaning the scrap book room, it just sorted of happened. I guess I can blame it on Diane......lol. I have this saying that you can put in a card that says "We have been through a lot together, and most of it is your fault! We love that saying and laugh hard about it as it is so true in our friendship! Any who...she RAK'd me with a whole bunch of cool stamping stuff yesterday. I had set it on the kitchen counter yesterday and decided to put it away today. I dumped the buttons in my button drawer right away but had all these little packages of embellishments and I was trying to figure out where to put them. I finally decided to put them in a basket as my current system for them wasn't working. I now had too many. I should rephrase that....as you can never have too many embellishments. But they wouldn't fit on the ring that I currently had them on. So....I decided to put them in a basket. I divided up the basket with little containers so that they would be easy to find and they would be organized. Then I started looking on the table by the window as I had been throwing things that I had been picking up at thrift shops or garage sales on it for sometime and decided that I wanted these things in the basket too. So that led me to cleaning that table completely off and washing it, putting different things on there, then doing the same to my cutting table, the stamping desk, etc. I also had a bin of left over projects from parties and stamp camps that I had not made up from the last year. A lot of them I had made up right after the event but I had a shoebox full that I hadn't. So I sorted all that card stock, ribbon, envelopes, pattern paper, and strips into piles. At least this time, I didn't wait 2 years to sort it like I did the last time. That time it took me DAYS to sort and file it as I wasn't selling cards then and hadn't made up hardly ANY of the extra packets! By 3:30 I decided that I need to rest, and I fell asleep around 4 watching Dancing with the Stars. I woke up at 5 all disoriented. I had slept so hard that it felt like I had slept all night. I looked and could see it was light out and thought it was morning. All of a sudden I could smell my chicken in the slow cooker and flew out of bed as I thought I had left it in there all night! While flying out of bed, I saw my alarm clock and it was 5 pm! What a nut....!!!! I wake up like that a lot after naps on flea market days. That really tires me out and I sleep hard when I get home! So I had some chicken and started back in on my cleaning project. I have it pretty well done, just a tiny pile on the kitchen table that I need to go through but I am exhausted so it will have to wait. But boy does it all look nice!

Tart & Tangy and Curvy Verses

Recipe: Stamp Sets: Tart & Tangy and Curvy Verses. DSP: Retired Summer Picnic, Ink: Only Orange & Green Galore, Real Red. Striped Ribbon: Retired Wild Wasabi. Slit Punch

I am back at home from a 5 day stay at Jenna and Antonio's house. More to come later.....

Always & Heard from the Heart

First I stamped the berries on the top of this card. Then I stamped the bird with Regal Rose Ink and stamped "Wishing you happiness today & always" with Black Stazon Ink. The Regal Rose card stock is punched on the bottom edge with the scalloped edge punch. I attached those two layers then added the Bashful Blue striped ribbon before attaching it to the Pretty in Pink Card Stock. I ran a new sanding block over the bird to get the film off the stamp and boy does it stamp a clear image when you do that. Just lightly sand in both directions and then clean your stamp good with the conditioning mist before you use it.

Eastern Blooms and On Your Birthday

My favorite cards that I make, tend to be ones that look really feminine. If I just made what I wanted, all of my cards would be very pretty like this one. But I know different people have different tastes so I experiment a lot with what I make. I love color and I think that is one of the reasons I like stamping and quilting so much as you are always putting together new color combination's. I am sure that I will want to recreate this card so I kept track of the measurements so that I can make it again and so can you!

Recipe: Stamp Sets: Eastern Blooms & On Your Birthday. Regal Rose Ink & 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. Circle Scizzors Plus 3 1/2" Circle debossed with Big Shot Texture Plates 1, Sizzlet Tag Die, 2 way glue, Half Backed Pearls from Pretties Kit. Regal Rose DSP from Hostess Level 1 (retired) 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". Score front 1" from the fold.

Animal Stories & Inspired By Nature

The very first thing I did to make this card was to run the So Saffron Card Stock through the Big Shot with the plate that looks like bamboo in the texturz plate set number 4. I lightly spritzed the card stock with rubbing alcohol on both sides of the card stock. This softens the fibers of the card stock some and gives you a much deeper impression from the plate. Then I attached the designer paper from Tall Tales on the bottom, and a tiny strip of Old Olive card stock that I snagged out of my scrap bin. I took the Inspired by nature stamp set and stamped some grass with Old Olive ink, and then stamped 2 elephants with Soft Suede ink on another piece of card stock. I cut them both out and mounted the one on the right on some dimensionals to give the card a 3 D look.

Bobo Backgrounds and One of A Kind

These were some fairly quick cards I made and they turned out really pretty. I like the color combination a lot. I first stamped the bottom of the card with Regal Rose ink and the little floral background stamp from Boho Backgrounds. Doesn't it look like it is pattern paper? I think so. Then I stamped the Medallion from the same set and punched it out with the 1 3/8" Circle punch. I then punched a Scalloped Circle out of Certainly Celery Card stock which I then pierced holes with the mat pack and paper piercer. I adhered them together and then popped them up with some dimensionals. The ticket corner punch was used in the top corners and the sayings were stamped with Certainly Celery with the stamps from the set One of a Kind. 5/8" Pink Grosgrain finishes off the card.

Manhatten Embossing Folder

I just love this Manhatten Embossing Folder. You can make such quick and elegant cards with it. I ran a piece of chocolate chip card stock through the Big Shot in the embossing folder and then cut out the portions of the card stock that were not embossed. I stamped "Best Wishes" from the stamp set Sincere Salutations and then made a bow with 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grograin. WaLaaaaaa!!! What a quick and sinchie card! And elegant to boot!

Spider

Another weekend is over and it was another beautiful day. Breezy added some 2 x 4's to the bottom of my clothes rack that he had put on wheels for me. The base wasn't wide enough and it tipped over yesterday. Now it stands pretty good although we decided that it should have some braces on the side of it some time in the future. But at least it is not tipping over now. I sold Melissa one of my display fixture's today and she came over and picked it up. Isabelle let me take some pictures of her with a hair clip in her hair so I am going to print some of them and put them in the stall so people can see how they look on little girls. I have had some nice compliments on them so far. In the quiet times today, I was scheming on how I want to change things for next year. Breezy will probably bat me....but will good naturely do it. As long as I wait patiently till he has time, he is glad to do things for me. Right now he is trying to get his house in Janesville ready for rent/or sale, so we are in the patiently waiting mode. LOL
Susie was over tonight after I got home from the flea market to pick up a few things and to visit. I have been returning phone calls since then and have did dishes, folded clothes, wrapped Dianna's birthday present, and made her a card. I am pretty much played out and ready to hit the hay. I think I will go down early tonight as last night I didn't sleep much. Have a good one. Me

Oh Baby!

This is the new personalized stamp I ordered from STAMPIN' UP! to stamp on the back of my greeting cards and stamped projects. According to the angel policy, you can use STAMPIN' Up!'s stamps to make things to sell but you have to have STAMPIN' UP on it. I ran out of baby cards today at the flea market so made a few up tonight after I woke up from my nap. I really like making baby cards, they are fun to do. It is fun to use the pastel colors. As my friend Colleen in Oregon says...you love the Soft Subtles and Earth Elements. She is right about that. I think those color families mix and match the best. If someone is new at making cards, I would suggest starting with the Soft Subtles. There is no way you can come out with a bad color combination using them! Colleen also gives me a bad time about using Chocolate Chip so much. I wonder if they got a storm on the coast tonight as we were Iming and suddenly she was off line and hasn't been back on. I think the internet has been kind of glitchy the past few days. Some of the emails I have sent to people with Verizon have been bouncing back.

The weather was fabulous here in Mayberry today. I love it...it can stay this temperature forever. I bought a cool old ladder today from my next door neighbor's, Jessie's folks, at the flea market today. I have been wanting one for displaying quilts on for years. I would love to bring it home but don't know where I would put it at the moment, unless it went upstairs in my sewing room and I would hate to hide it away up there. It is too cool for that. So for now it will stay down in the stall and I will use it for displaying things there. I believe it was hand hewn, it is grey, rough, and weathered looking. Pretty neat.

I made 7 more hair clips today so now have a total of 13 done. I need to get more cut out so I will work on something else tomorrow. Either I will stitch towels or do more coloring of images. Enjoy this wonderful weather! Boo

The card above has a little tag hanging from the ribbon that say hello baby. When I was taking the picture, I didn't think to check to make sure that it was showing!

Flower Barrettes

This was my project for today, I was making these flower barrettes with the Big Shot. I got 6 finished and have a bunch more cut out and will take with me to the flea market tomorrow to work on. I worked up in my new sewing room today and it is so nice. The only bad thing is that the ceiling fan isn't up yet and it was way too hot up there. But soon the weather will cool off and it will be the right temperature up there. Today is Dianna, my soon to be grand daughter's twelfth birthday. I called her and wished her a happy birthday. I told her that I had a present for her that I would give to her when I came to Milwaukee. That pleased her...she giggled and said probably some chocolate! LOL I got a kick out of that. I said no but I would have to smuggle in some chocolate for her so Jenna and her dad wouldn't know! :D Ahhhhhh....the joys of being a grammie! Have a great weekend! Elaine

Pictures from Sandys party

These are the projects we made at Sandy's party. The one with the m&m's is a match book candy holder. These are so much fun to make with the new Sweet Center's stamp set. The EEK your sweet on the sucker is the punched out part from the match book, mounted on a 1 3/8" circle and the scalloped circle punch. Our greeting card was made with the stamp set Sock Monkey and we paper pieced his little trick or treating outfit. The scalloped edges on the card were created with the Big Shot.
Dianna Steigerwald was busy punching away. We were so glad that you could join us. We have missed you!

The gals noticed this beautiful sunset out of the church windows and thought I should capture some pictures on it. It was breath taking. I LOVE to watch the sunset.

Beth Griffith received a $5.00 gift certificate for bringing Sue Bartels into our stamping group. Once a new member has come at least 2 times, I give the person that referred them to my group a gift certificate.

what's up TWEETIE?

Hello...another busy day in Mayberry. The bridal shower invitations are all done and are ready to go to Sarah. I have made 3 different wedding invitations to show Jenna so far and plan on doing some more. My luck, she will say, "I like this part on that one, and this part of this one......". It will be interesting to see which one she picks out.

I made Suddenly Salad, and baked muffins and brownies today. I put some of my little roma tomato's in the salad and they were a nice addition. My tomato plant is still producing and I picked some more again this afternoon. There are still lots of tomato's on it. I hope that they ripen before it freezes. I have such nice southern windows that I bet if the plant were in the house, I could keep it going awhile. But that will never work with Molly and Taffy as they would turn it into mince meat. When Sarah first gave it to me and I had to bring it in at night, I put it in the bathroom in the bathtub and took the cats food and litter box out of there and shut the door so they couldn't go near it as they were just fascinated with it. I think because it smells so strong. I don't actually like to touch the vines as I don't care for the smell. Real pug net. The cats are running around right now like little wild child's. Last night Taffy took a running leap from the couch to the window sill and she hit the window so hard that I thought it might break. She look at me like she was seeing stars...tee hee. I think she thought she could fly. And if once weren't enough....she did it again and flew into the stack of baskets. I think she must have decided after the second time that it hurt. She definitely is good entertainment.....you don't have to even turn on the TV....and it is FREE to boot! :D Love my babies!

Door prizes and Hostess Gifts

I made this towel and tag as a thank you for Sandy for having her party. The tag uses the stamp set Friends 24-7. I appliqued the towel.
These are the little cups that I filled and decorated for door prizes. They have chipboard, ribbon, buttons and a peanut butter bon bon in them. The trick or treat stamp is from the level one hostess set, Holiday Best. I love it! I found the cute little orange cups a couple of months ago over at Reedsburg when I was visiting Sarah one day. I usually forget to take pictures of my Hostess gifts and Door Prizes. Aren't you proud of me that I remembered!!!!! I finished my projects for next month's stamp camp today and I am so happy about that as it was one of my goals for the week. Tomorrow I need to design some sample wedding invitations for Jenna and I need to get the inserts printed for the bridal shower invitations. Never a dull moment around here!

I thought I would give you an update on my road. They tore it all up on Monday but have not been back since to work on it. I see they are working on the street on the other side of town. It is extremely quiet because few cars are traveling on it. I feel like I am living out in the country right now! LOL I am glad that I don't live far down the street though as I can only go 5 mph as it is so rough.

Just Buzzin By and Friends 24/7

Good Evening! These are some cards that we made last month at Sandy Wellumsun's stamping party. They were a big hit, especially the little bee's. The gals loved them. I made up the extra packets I had cut and I have sold all of them. This afternoon, I was working on next month's stamp camp. I finished a couple of project's for it so I am happy about that. I went to Jessie's volley ball game tonight and that was fun to see. She had asked me on Sunday if I was coming and I told her that I would try to. Can't let my girl down and I was glad to be able to spend that hour there tonight. When my girls were in high school, I had some rough years health wise and my back was really bad. When I bought my ticket tonight for the game, I asked if I could bring a chair in because I couldn't sit on the bleachers and the gal said sure, that she wouldn't say anything about it. (It might have helped that I knew her.) As I was sitting there on my chair, before the game started....I was thinking about how far along I had come in accepting my illness and not worrying about what other's thought. I missed so many of the girls events because I was in such terrible pain and was too proud to ask if I could bring a chair in the gym or I was in too much pain to sit, period. I didn't want to embarrass them or myself by "doing such a thing". I was only 34 at the time, way too young to be disabled, and way too young to accept it. It was a hard process, and I am sure glad that I am at a point in my life that I don't care what people think! Make the most of your days....you never know what life has in store for you! Hugs! Boo

Bear on Pumpkin, Halloween Card

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Sometimes life just get's too hectic around here. Today I was busy getting ready for Sandy Renner's stamping party that we had at the church tonight. We had a fantastic turnout. The food was delish! Our hostesses sure do spoil us and we love it! We worked on Halloween project's tonight and they were a big hit. I need to photograph them yet so you will have to wait a bit to see them. But in the mean time I thought you would enjoy seeing a picture of this card that I made several weeks ago. I made 9 of these to sell. I think this bear is sooo....cute. I colored some more of these this weekend at the fleamarket so you will probably be seeing this little guy again but I will make it with a different layout.

On a not so happy note....they started ripping my road apart today and have tore out all of the pavement. The road is closed to through traffic. If you want to come and visit me and don't want to go through all of the mess.......park at the Mc Gown House and take the path through the woods (on the left side of the house) and walk through my back yard. According to my neighbor Debi across the street, it is going to take 3 months for them to finish it. FUN FUN.....not! So I may be running away from home for awhile! Anyone want me to come visit!?!?!?! :-D

Happy Owl-oween!!!

Good Evening! I cased this card from Susie Smith. She let me borrow this stamp set and a card that she had made while she was on vacation last week. I made 8 cards like this while I had it and sold some of them last weekend at the flea market. I just love these funky owls.....they are a real HOOT! LOL And I love it that my friends let me borrow their stamps! It is always fun to play with new Rubbah!

I got some cleaning done this morning and made up some cute door prizes this afternoon for Sandy's party. I also finished Sandy's thank you gift. Hmmmm....I'd better go shoot some pictures of it all before I forget to!

I also had to do some resting today as I have been having trouble breathing. I probably should have used my inhaler, but took decongestant twice today and I seemed to be able to breath better after that kicked in and I layed down. I think I am fighting allergies. I feel a lot better than I did this morning. I am headed off to take another pill and will go down early tonight.

I just got home from having dinner with Jenna and Antonio out at Carlson's Rustic Ridge. They were in town today as they had a marriage counseling appointment with Pastor today. They had to take a compatibility test. She also went to the flower shop and looked at flower's today and picked out her bouquet. She hasn't decided on the boutineer's or corsage's yet. They made a visit to my mom and dad's and then I met them at Carlson's for there 4 o'clock appointment with the manager to look at the basement, talk about the menu, and prices. They decided to book it. Antonio had not been there before but loved it. So things are falling into place. When I left they were going to go for a walk on the beach. The two love birds......:D That is good...the way it should be. I made Simply Salsa for tomorrow's sample. Stop down and see me! Elaine

I am tired and sore, but it was all worth it! Have a great night! Boo

Just football & Sporting

Good Evening. This little stamper girl did not get much accomplished today besides sleep! I must be tired out from the big weekend. Melissa stopped in this afternoon and we had a nice visit. I went up town and ran some errands, ate an early supper and slept some more. I am headed into the stamping cave to get some work done now.

Baroque Motif/Always/Embrace Life

Good Afternoon! I thought I would quick do a blog post before Molly comes back. She is being my lovey dovey cat today. She keeps hopping up on the computer desk, giving me kisses and wanting to be petted. She is a little lover and I suppose I was gone too much this weekend to suit her. She needs her petting and the rest of the world is suppose to stand still when she wants it! LOL I do love her and it is great to be loved!

I have been cleaning and trying to get things caught up today. I don't know what they are doing over by the new ambulance building but I can hear and feel the heavy equipment rumbling and it is driving me nuts. Or they could be working on West Street as they have stakes all over the place and they are suppose to do work on it, sooner or later. I may have to run away from home as the noise and vibrations are triggering a migraine and I felt excellent until a couple of hours ago. I think I will go outside and get the mail and see if I can tell what is going on. All I can see from in the house is a Semi with a big flat bed trailer that you would haul a Cat or something on. I will give you an update later! Have a good one! Me

Circle Circus and Oval All

Happy Labor Day Weekend! And happy is what Elaine is! We had fantastic weather today, tons of people, and great sales at the flea market today! I had lots of visitors today...new friends and old. The fall/winter line of Tastefully Simple is out and what a fantastic line of products. I do have to say, this is the very best catalog yet. Lots of new yummy things. Today I gave samples of Onion Onion Dip and tomorrow will be Spinach Herb Dip. It looks like the weather the next two days will be great and boy we sure needed this after having rain (or cold) so many weekend's this year.

I don't think that I remembered to tell you that the stereo in my van went out about a month ago. Zach looked at it today and the fuses are all good so either a wire is loose or the stereo is shot. Either way....I probably won't have tunes in the Yackette mobile for a long time as the Money Pit (aka known as my home) is taking all my dollar's at the moment. Oh well...we shall survive.

Another bit of new's is that the new ambulance service for Adams County is pretty much in my backyard. So far it is going pretty well as they don't turn on their siren right here and I was used to the ambulance from the hospital going by here anyways. What is new though is that I hear the cars of the staff going in and out of the parking lot at all different times of the day and night, plus the ambulance has a beeping sound that goes off when they back in the garage. It is hard to tell if someone is at my house or there. So....if you come to visit...be sure to ring the door bell, knock loud, or call me, as I might think it someone over there or may be upstairs sewing. And if I am upstairs, I probably won't be able to hear you. Have a wonderful evening! Elaine

Embrace Life

Hello. Lady Di and I took a road trip today to WI Dells. I put 30 cards in at Hill of Beans Coffee and then we headed to Kohl's. Lady Di has a new great grand child and she wanted to pick out some clothes for the new little guy. Kohl's is a fun place to look at baby clothes. I have went many times with Di and with Carol when they are shopping for grand babies. Of course I oooohhh and ahhhhh and try and help them pick out the very cutest things. It is a fun job, and somebody had got to do! Tee Hee! Then we ventured over to Walmart as Di needed to grocery shop for her company that is coming this weekend. I picked out some candy as Sherrie asked me to make more little candies for the check out counter at the coffe shop as they are going good. Plus I needed to pick out a new telephone as the one I use with my headset is going on the fritz. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I had it down to the hardware store and a guy checked the battery and said that it had a very good charge so the phone it self is going. I have had this one for 10 to 15 years. It was a Uniden and the very best phone I have ever had. I would have liked to bought another one but could only find aPanasonic with the headset plugin and holster clip. So got a 3 telephone set and one of them will go upstairs in the sewing room. We made a quick trip into Book World to look at the magazines as I knew that a couple of holiday issues were out. I got one and Di the other. We share them back and for and it works out great. We had a late lunch at Culver's, then headed home. I took the lap top on the bed and was looking at cards on it, while watching the soaps I record and I fell a sleep sitting up with the lap top on my lap, and Molly at my hip with my hand on her and slept a long time until Di called and woke me up! Tonight I worked on decorating peppermint patties and got 44 done. It helps to take those power naps! I will send them with Sarah this weekend and she can drop them off at Hill of Beans as she eats lunch in the park that is right behind there every day. That works out great!

Petal Pizzaz

Good Evening. Another beautiful day. I just love it when you don't have to run air conditioning or heat which is kind of rare in Wisconsin. Most of the time we go directly from one to the other. I was busy stamping today and also mounted a bunch of new stamp sets that I ordered from the new Holiday mini. I have LOTS of cute projects planned.

My friend Carol was over tonight and bought some cards and took me for a ride in her new Equinox. She got it a week ago, 16,000 miles, red, and very nice. We drove up to Mc Donald's for ice cream. We are going to take a road trip in it very soon!!!!!

Animal Stories & Celebrate Everything

Hello! What beautiful weather we are having. It was a picture perfect day here and I enjoyed it very much while I was out running my errands this afternoon. I decided to move my tomato plant back up on the deck in the full sun now that it is cooler. It is full of green tomato's. You should see it....as Sarah says...it looks like a jungle. I sure have been enjoying having the little roma tomato's on my sandwiches. Susie stopped in for a visit this afternoon and I have been stamping verses in cards since she left and packaging them up. I got a Pat Greene CD from the library today and am listening to the song Let Me Be. The girls both really like this song and Zach looked up this song on Itunes to see who sang it for me as I really like it too. It finally came in, this was month's ago when we did that and later I ordered it. It is funny how we all love the same song. That would happen when the girls were home but I think it is a little uncanny now that we all have separate homes and it happens. Sarah went to Brook's and Dunn's concert at Camp Mc Coy last Friday night. What a lucky girl! She said they were fantastic. They are suppose to be splitting up at the end of the tour which is sad as they are so good together and have so many hits. But I wouldn't want to be touring so can easily understand that. They will be missed.
